Ag-doped CNT/HAP nanohybrids in a PLLA bone scaffold show significant antibacterial activity

Bacterial infection is a major problem following bone implant ***,poly-l-lactic acid/carbon nanotube/hydroxyapatite(PLLA/CNT/HAP)bone scaffolds possess enhanced mechanical properties and show good ***,wesynthesizedsilver(Ag)-dopedCNT/HAP(CNT/Ag-HAP)nanohybrids via the partial replacing of calcium ions(Ca2+)in the HAP lattice with silver ions(Ag+)using an ion doping technique under hydrothermal ***ﬁcally,the doping process was induced using the special lattice structure of HAP and the abundant surface oxygenic functional groups of CNT,and involved the partial replacement of Ca2+in the HAP lattice by doped Ag+as well as the in situ synthesis of Ag-HAP nanoparticles on CNT in a hydrothermal *** result-ing CNT/Ag-HAP nanohybrids were then introduced into a PLLA matrix via laser-based powder bed fusion(PBF-LB)to fabricate PLLA/CNT/Ag-HAP scaffolds that showed sustained antibacterial *** then found that Ag+,which pos-sesses broad-spectrum antibacterial activity,endowed PLLA/CNT/Ag-HAP scaffolds with this activity,with an antibacterial effectiveness of 92.65%.This antibacterial effect is due to the powerful effect of Ag+against bacterial structure and genetic material,as well as the physical destruction of bacterial structures due to the sharp edge structure of *** addition,the scaffold possessed enhanced mechanical properties,showing tensile and compressive strengths of 8.49 MPa and 19.72 MPa,***,the scaffold also exhibited good bioactivity and cytocompatibility,including the ability to form apatite layers and to promote the adhesion and proliferation of human osteoblast-like cells(MG63 cells).

Generating diverse clothed 3D human animations via a generative model

Data-driven garment animation is a current topic of interest in the computer graphics *** approaches generally establish the mapping between a single human pose or a temporal pose sequence,and garment deformation,but it is difficult to quickly generate diverse clothed human *** address this problem with a method to automatically synthesize dressed human animations with temporal consistency from a specified human motion *** the heart of our method is a twostage ***,we first learn a latent space encoding the sequence-level distribution of human motions utilizing a transformer-based conditional variational autoencoder(Transformer-CVAE).Then a garment simulator synthesizes dynamic garment shapes using a transformer encoder-decoder *** the learned latent space comes from varied human motions,our method can generate a variety of styles of motions given a specific motion *** means of a novel beginning of sequence(BOS)learning strategy and a self-supervised refinement procedure,our garment simulator is capable of efficiently synthesizing garment deformation sequences corresponding to the generated human motions while maintaining temporal and spatial *** verify our ideas *** is the first generative model that directly dresses human animation.

Surveillance on the multi-drug resistance and the β-lactamase resistance genes in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

In the present study, 27 multi-drug resistant strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated from clinical specimens in our hospital from Jan 2005 to Nov 2005, in which the resistant genes encoding β-lactamase including TEM, SHV, OXA, PER, VEB, GES, CARB, IMP, VIM, SPM, GIM, DHA and OprD2 were tested by PCR amplification and sequenced by DNA sequencer. It was found that the detection rates of blaVEB, blaGES and blaCARB genes in these 27 isolates of P. aeruginosa were 11.1%, 11.1% and 48.1%, respectively, but almost the oprD2 gene was lacked （92.6%）. In addition, the resistant genes encoding TEM, SHV, OXA, PER, IMP, VIM, SPM, GIM and DHA β-lactamase were all not found. It was also demonstrated that the sequence of blaVEB gene appeared to be identical to that of the blaVEB-1 （AY536743）, while the blaGES and blaCARB genes shared 99% identity with blaGES-1 （AY219651） and blaCARB-3 （S46063） genes. From these observations, it is evident that P. aeruginosa carrying the blarEs, blaGES and blaCARB resistant genes isolated in our hospital confers the resistance to β- lactams, and the loss of the oprD2 gene may be the important cause to develop resistance to imipenem in P. aeruginosa.

Correlation of the antiseptic resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii and the antiseptic resistance gene qacEΔ1 located in classⅠintegron

In the past decade, uses of antiseptics and disinfectants in hospitals and other health care centers are rather common, but the chance to develop resistance to antiseptics and disinfectants is also increased. Acinetobacter baumannii is one of the opportunistic bacteria involving in the nosocomial infection. In the present study, the correlation of the antiseptic resistance in A. baumannii and the antiseptic resistance gene qacEΔ 1 was investigated by means of determination of MICs. Meanwhile, the MICs of glutaraldehyde, chlorhexidine, benzalkonium bromide, iodophor and trichloroisocyanurate to 80 clinical isolates of A. baumannii were detected by tube dilution assay and the resistance genes intll and qacE Δ 1 in these isolates were amplified by PCR and verified by DNA sequencer. It was found that the MIC50 for these 5 antiseptics tested were 32, 8, 8, 4 and 1 μg/ml respectively, and the detection rates of intll and qacEΔ1 gene were 60.0% and 77.6% respectively. In addition, 55% of the 80 isolates simultaneously possessed both intll and qacEΔ1 gene, and the percentage of antiseptic resistance of A. baumannii carring both genes to benzalkonium bromide were higher than that without these two genes, however, there was no significant difference between intll and qacEΔ1 gene. The result in bactericidal efficiency assay indicated that chlorhexidine could still produce rapid and strong bactericidal effect at concentration of 1 MIC after 10 rain exposure. These results suggest that the antiseptic resistance of A. baumannil to various antiseptics is correlated with the presence of the antiseptic resistance genes qacEΔ 1 in bacteria, thus warning that the increase of the antiseptic resistance should not be ignored and the relative high concentration or prolonged application time is required to achieve a sufficient bactericidal effect.

Analysis on drug-resistance and molecular epidemiology of Acinetobacter baumannii isolated from the clinical samples in two Chinese hospitals

In the present study, the drug-resistance genes encoding β-lactamases, aminoglycoside modifying enzymes, DNA topoisomerases and integron as well as their molecular epidemiology were investigated by means of analyzing the drug-resistance and molecular epidemiology of Acinebacter baumannii isolated from the clinical samples in two hospitals in Changzhou and Huzhou city of Jiangsu and Zhejiang province from July 2000 to March 2005. The minimal inhibitory concentrations （MICs） of these 307 isolates were detected by automatic microbiological system, and 35 strains against 5-fluoroquinolones were performed by agar dilution assay. Meanwhile, the resistant genes in 80 isolates were amplified by PCR with identification by DNA sequencer. It was found that most of the 307 isolates of A. baumannii were resistant to multiple antibiotics tested, in which the resistance rates of the isolates against piperacillin, piperacillin/tazobactam, amoxacillin/clavulanic acid, cefotaxime, ceftazidime, cefepime, gentamicin, amikacin, ciprofloxacin, chloramphenicol and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim were all above 35%, but those of imipenem and meropenem were quite low, ranged only 2.6% and 3.3 %. In addition, it was also demonstrated that the positive rates of TEM and SHV β-lactamase genes accounted for 93.8% and 22.5% respectively, and those of the aminoglycoside-modifying enzyme genes including aacC1, aacC2, aacC3, aacC4, aacC4A, aphA6, ant（2″）-Ⅰ and ant（3″）- Ⅰ were 58.8%, 8.8%, 7.5%, 28.8%, 45.0%, 2.5%, 28.8% and 65.0% respectively. The mutations in the quinolone-resistant determining region （QRDR） of gyrA and parC genes indicated that substitution in Ser-83 residue of GyrA protein was most frequently occurred among strains with MIC for ciprofloxacin of more than 4 μg/ml, whereas a double mutation at Ser-83 residue of gyrA and Ser-80 of parC was found in strains with MIC of ciprofloxacin of more than 8 μg/ml. Effect of fermented Rosa roxburghii Tratt fruit juice on gut microbiota in a dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis mouse model

This study mainly investigated the regulatory effect of Rosa roxburghii Tratt fruit juice fermented by Lacticaseibacillus paracasei SR10-1(LAB-RRTJ)on modulating gut microbiota in dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis in *** to control group,DSS induction decreased body weight of mice,indexes of Shannon,Simpson,Chao1 and Faith_pd,and increased disease activity index(DAI)and levels of interleukin 1β(IL-1β),IL-6,tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α)and interferon-γ(IFN-γ);And this induction also led to an increase in Proteobacteria,Verrucomicrobia and Actinobacteria at phylum level,harmful bacterial species richness at genus level,and relative richness of ***,Desulfovibrio C21_c20,*** and Akkermansia muciniphila at species level,and a decrease in Firmicutes at phylum level and relative richness of *** in ***-RRTJ increased body weight of mice with DSS induced ulcerative colitis(UC)and indexes of Shannon,Simpson,Chao1 and Faith_pd,reduced DAI and the content of four infl ammatory factors and improved gut microbiota imbalance in DSS induced UC ***,the number of operational taxonomic units(OTUs)increased,α-diversity andβ-diversity were restored and similar to those in mice in the control group after LAB-RRTJ *** with the positive drug treatment group,LAB-RRTJ has a better effect on regulating gut microbiota diversity in colitis *** analysis showed that infl ammatory factors were positively correlated with harmful bacteria and negatively correlated with beneficial bacteria which commonly found in some colitis *** together,our study demonstrated that LAB-RRTJ could alleviate DSS-induced colitis in mice through the modulation of infl ammatory cytokines and gut microbiota composition.

A discussion of fatigue properties of notched specimens subjected to prestressing treatment machined from FGH4097

Experimental and numerical investigations were performed to reveal the effect of prestress on the fatigue properties of FGH4097 so as to quantitatively evaluate the overspeed benefit of the disc of aeroengine. A corresponding experiment was performed to examine the effect of prestress on the fatigue life of FGH97. A complete model describing the fatigue properties of the prestressed notch specimen was proposed. After the modification of mean stress, stress gradient and prestressing treatment, the model is finally verified by fatigue test of presstressed notch specimens machined from FGH4097 with satisfactory accuracy and good engineering applicability. The new model highlights that for the variable fatigue loads, the introduction of appropriate prestress is expected to benefit to the notch specimens and certainly to the disc of aeroengine regards of their fatigue properties. Both the calculation method of fatigue life parameters and the prestress correction model are proved to have good prediction accuracy.

Quaternion-Based Adaptive Trajectory Tracking Control of a Rotor-Missile with Unknown Parameters Identification

This paper investigates the adaptive trajectory tracking control problem and the unknown parameter identification problem of a class of rotor-missiles with parametric system ***,considering the uncertainty of structural and aerodynamic parameters,the six-degree-of-freedom(6Do F) nonlinear equations describing the position and attitude dynamics of the rotor-missile are established,respectively,in the inertial and body-fixed reference ***,a hierarchical adaptive trajectory tracking controller that can guarantee closed-loop stability is proposed according to the cascade characteristics of the 6Do F ***,a memory-augmented update rule of unknown parameters is proposed by integrating all historical data of the regression *** long as the finitely excited condition is satisfied,the precise identification of unknown parameters can be ***,the validity of the proposed trajectory tracking controller and the parameter identification method is proved through Lyapunov stability theory and numerical simulations.

We revisit the γ-ray emission above 300 Me V towards the massive star-forming region of Orion B by adopting14 yr observations with the Fermi Large Area Telescope and utilizing the updated software *** extended γ-ray emission region around Orion B is resolved into two components(region Ⅰ and region Ⅱ).The γ-ray spectrum of region I agrees with the predicted γ-ray spectrum assuming the cosmic ray(CR)density is the same as that of Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer(AMS-02)measured ***γ-ray emissivity of region II appears to be deficit at low energy band(E<3 GeV).Through modeling we find that CR densities exhibit a significant deficit below 20 Ge V,which may be caused by a slow diffusion inside the dense *** is probably caused by an increased magnetic field whose strength increases with the gas density.
