Optical coherence tomography(OCT)provides significant advantages of high resolution(approaching the histopathology level)realtime imaging of tsess without use of contrast *** on these advantages,the microstructural features of tumors can be visualized and detected ***,it is still not clinically accepted for tumor margin delin-eation due to poor specificity and *** contrast,Raman spectroscopy(RS)can obtain tissue information at the molecular level,but does not provide real-time inaging ***,combining OCT and RS could provide *** this end,we present a tissue analysis and dassification method using both the slope of OCT intensity signal Vs depth and the principle components from the RS spectrum as the indicators for tissuse *** goal of this study was to understand prediction accuracy of OCT and combined OCT/RS method for dassification of optically similar tisues and *** pilot experiments were performed on mouse kidneys,livers,and small intestines(SIs).The prediction accuracy with five-fold cross validation of the method has been evaluated by the support vector machine(SVM)*** results demonstrate that tissue characterization based on the OCT/RS method was superior compared to using OCT structural information *** combined OCT/RS method is potentially useful as a noninvasive optical biopsy technique for rapid and automatic tissue characterization during surgery.

Digit recognition from a natural scene text in video surveillance/broadcasting applications is a challenging research task due to blurred, font variations, twisted, and non-uniform color distribution issues with a digit in a natural scene to be recognized. In this paper, to solve the digit number recognition problem, a principal-axis based topology contour descriptor with support vector machine （SVM） classification is proposed. The contributions of this paper include： a） a local descriptor with SVM classification for digit recognition, b） higher accuracy than the state-of-the art methods, and c） low computational power （0.03 second/digit recognition）, which make this method adoptable to real-time applications.

This research aims at developing a new fuzzy activity finish time estimation model for project scheduling *** the application of the fuzzy quality function deployment (FQFD) and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) methods,the degree of fuzziness for every project activity is calculated in accordance with considerations of project *** uncertainties are measured by the risk level of such project-related characteristics as time limit,activity start time,budget,manpower,technological difficulty,and facility *** this paper,rather than applying the de-fuzzification technique to obtain the crisp activity duration for project scheduling,the fuzzy finish time estimation method for every activity is proposed based on the degree of *** corresponding fuzzy activity duration time plot is also developed in a new fuzzy Gantt *** proposed model can provide a reasonable fuzzy finish time estimation for every activity,while most scheduling methods only provide the finish time of the entire *** to existing models,this time estimation model and its corresponding Gantt chart are predicted to have higher reliability and practical application in project management and scheduling.

This paper considers H-infinity control problem for interval descriptor systems. Necessary and sufficient LMI-based conditions are derived for quadratic-like H-infinity control analysis of interval descriptor systems. Using the analysis result, two types of feedback controllers are designed so that the closed-loop interval descriptor systems are admissible with H-infinity-norm less than a prescribed value. To the best of the authors＇s knowledge, this is the first paper to deal with the H-infinity control problem of interval descriptor systems in the literature.

The characteristics of diffusion are essential to the transport of radionuclides through buffer/backfill materials, such as bentonite, which are commonly found in waste repositories. This study used through-diffusion techniques to investigate the diffusion behavior of HTO and ^(99)TcO_4^- on GMZ bentonite of various densities. Diffusion rates were calculated by measuring the diffusion coefficients(De, Da), plotting breakthrough curves and interpreting experiment data. The apparent and effective diffusion coefficients of HTO ranged from(1.68 ± 0.40) 9 × 10^(-11) to(2.80 ± 0.62) 9 × 10^(-11) m^2/s and from(4.61 ±1.28) 9 × 10^(-12) to (16.2 ± 2.50) 9 × 10^(-12) m^2/s, *** apparent and effective diffusion coefficients of^(99)TcO_4^-ranged from(5.26 ± 0.16) 9 × 10^-12to(7.78 ± 0.43) 9× 10^-12m^2/s and from(1.49 ± 0.002) 9 × 10^(-12) to(4.16 ±0.07) 9 × 10^(-12) m^2/s, respectively. The distribution coefficients of HTO and^(99)TcO_4^-ranged from(0.70 ± 0.12) 9× 10^(-2) to(1.36 ± 0.53) 9 × 10^(-2) mL/g and from(1.12 ±0.06) 9 × 10^(-2) to(5.79 ± 2.22) 9 × 10^(-2) mL/g, *** Deand Kdvalues were shown to decrease with an increase in the bulk dry density of compacted bentonite. Our results show that HTO and ^(99)Tc could be considered nonsorbent radionuclides. The data obtained in this studyprovide a valuable reference for the safety assessment of waste repositories.

In this paper,the equal-norm multiple-scale Trefftz method combined with the implicit Lie-group scheme is applied to solve the two-dimensional nonlinear sloshing problem with *** considering solving sloshing problems with baffles by using boundary integral methods,degenerate geometry and problems of numerical instability are *** avoid numerical instability,the multiple-scale characteristic lengths are introduced into T-complete basis functions to efficiently govern the high-order oscillation ***,the numerical noise propagation at each time step is eliminated by the vector regularization method and the group-preserving scheme.A weighting factor of the group-preserving scheme is introduced into a linear system and then used in the initial and boundary value problems(IBVPs)at each time *** importantly,the parameters of the algorithm,namely,the T-complete function,dissipation factor,and time step,can obtain a linear *** boundary noise interference and energy conservation are successfully overcome,and the accuracy of the boundary value problem is also ***,benchmark cases are used to verify the correctness of the numerical *** numerical results show that this algorithm is efficient and stable for nonlinear two-dimensional sloshing problems with baffles.

Ab initio calculation is performed to investigate the uraniumsolubility in different sites of Gd2Zr2O7 pyrochlore. The Gd2Zr2O7 maintains its pyrochlore structure at low uraniumdopant levels, and the lattice constants of Gd2(Zr2?yUy)O7 and (Gd2?yUy)Zr2O7 are generally expressed as being linearly related to the uranium content y. Uranium is found to be a preferable substitute for the B-site gadolinium atoms in cation-disordered Gd2Zr2O7 (where gadolinium and zirconium atoms are swapped) over the A-site gadolinium atoms in ordered Gd2Zr2O7 due to the lower total energy of (Gd2?yZry)(Zr2?yUy)O7.

With the ever-growing storage density, high-speed, and low-cost data access, flash memory has inevitably become popular. Multi-level cell(MLC) NAND flash memory, which can well balance the data density and memory stability, has occupied the largest market share of flash memory. With the aggressive memory scaling, however, the reliability decays sharply owing to multiple interferences. Therefore, the control system should be embedded with a suitable error correction code(ECC) to guarantee the data integrity and accuracy. We proposed the pre-check scheme which is a multi-strategy polar code scheme to strike a balance between reasonable frame error rate(FER) and decoding latency. Three decoders namely binaryinput, quantized-soft, and pure-soft decoders are embedded in this scheme. Since the calculation of soft loglikelihood ratio(LLR) inputs needs multiple sensing operations and optional quantization boundaries, a 2-bit quantized hard-decision decoder is proposed to outperform the hard-decoded LDPC bit-flipping decoder with fewer sensing operations. We notice that polar codes have much lower computational complexity compared with LDPC codes. The stepwise maximum mutual information(SMMI) scheme is also proposed to obtain overlapped boundaries without exhausting search. The mapping scheme using Gray code is employed and proved to achieve better raw error performance compared with other alternatives. Hardware architectures are also given in this paper.

In this study,zirconium(Zr) successfully substituted for erbium(Er) in Er_(6-x)Zr_(x)MnSb_(2)(x=0,0.5,1,1.5) of the Fe_(2)P type,with comprehensive characterizations on crystal structure,electronic structure and magnetic *** to synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction data analysis and density functional theory calculation,Zr does not randomly but preferentially occupy during the doping process and results in weaker magnetic exchange interactions and depressed ordering *** electronic structure data show that the doping of Zr can weaken interaction between Er and Mn *** to multiple transitions,the Er_(6-x)Zr_(x)MnSb_(2)(x=0,0.5,1,1.5) exhibit table-like magnetocaloric ***_(6)MnSb_(2) displays wide δT_(FWHM)(full width at half maximum of the magnetic entropy change curve) of 116 K and high relative cooling power of 388.62 J/kg for 3 *** maximum magnetic entropy change of Er_(6-x)Zr_(x)MnSb_(2) is increased from 3.81 to 7.69 J/(kg·K) with the Zr content up from x=0 to x=1.5.
