A gastric carcinoid tumor concomitant with gastrointestinal stromal tumor （GIST） is rarely encountered in clinical practice. We report a 65-year-old female who had a 0.8 cm gastric carcinoid tumor on the posterior wall of the upper gastric corpus detected during an esophagogastroduodenoscopy at a routine physical examination, and a concomitant 1.1 cm GIST on the anterior wall of the upper gastric corpus incidentally found during surgery of the gastric carcinoid tumor. Normal serum gastrin level and histological findings suggested that she had a type 111 gastric carcinoid tumor and a GIST which were categorized a very low risk of malignancy, based on their small size and lack of mitosis. Both tumors were treated successfully by surgical excision. The patient had an uneventful recovery. Neither recurrence nor metastasis was found after a 28-mo follow-up.

We build random forests models to predict elastic properties and mechanical hardness of a compound,using only its chemical formula as *** model training uses over 10,000 target compounds and 60 features based on stoichiometric attributes,elemental properties,orbital occupations,and ionic bonding *** the models,we construct triangular graphs for B-C-N compounds to map out their bulk and shear moduli,as well as hardness *** graphs indicate that a 1:1 B-N ratio can lead to various superhard *** also validate the machine learning results by evolutionary structure prediction and density functional *** study shows that BC_(10)N,B_(4)C_(5)N_(3),and B_(2)C_(3)N exhibit dynamically stable phases with hardness values>40 GPa,which are superhard materials that potentially could be synthesized by low-temperature plasma methods.

Integrated Multi-channel High Accuracy Current Control LED Driver with Low Dropout Regulator

To investigate the evolution of shearing failure in solid,a set of open-box inclined shear test device with COD(crack opening displacement) control was designed and built to couple non-destructive technique of acoustic emission(AE).The fracture response of solid(rock) under plane shearing can be verified by using AE in microscopic *** factors were then studied such as inclined shear angle(β= 65°,70°,80°) as well as particle(sand) shape of cementitious materials. The results show that stiffness and peak shear stress decrease with increasing inclined shear angle in the macroscopic *** placed on the middle part of specimen according to the spatial distribution of AE *** of localization was at about 45 to 85%of loading level depending on the rock type and shear *** the setup of inclined shear test associated with nondestructive AE techniques,complete loading curves can be obtained and the failure evolution of solids be studied by observing how the evolution of internal microcracks lead to the development of macrocracks.

This research describes an integrated multi-channel high accuracy current control LED （light emitting diode） driver with low dropout regulator implemented in a 0.35μm TSMC 2P4M CMOS process. With the new trend of backlighting applications for mobile electronics and portable devices requiring a smaller size, lower cost, lesser noise and accurate current control LED driver, it came up with the idea of integrating more than one design features within a single chip. The analysis of using a capacitor-less low dropout regulator to power the constant current source has been explored, with the implementation of wide range battery voltage of 3 V to 5 V. Possible load current variations were introduced and verified to output a fixed voltage of 2.8 V. A regulated cascode current mirror structure forms the multi-channel configuration string of LED＇s; the design ensures a current matching of less than 1% error and achieves a high accuracy current control of less than 1% error, regardless of the LED＇s forward voltage variation. Moreover, for high end portable device with multimedia applications, dimming frequency can be set to 10 MHz. In addition, a switching output is a better approach for managing LED＇s contrast and brightness adjustment as well as maximizing power consumption, ensuring longer life for driving string of LEDs.

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor is a key factor in stress adaptation and avoidance of a social stress behavioral *** studies have shown that brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in stressed mice is brain region–specific,particularly involving the corticolimbic system,including the ventral tegmental area,nucleus accumbens,prefrontal cortex,amygdala,and *** how brain-derived neurotrophic factor participates in stress processing in different brain regions will deepen our understanding of social stress *** this review,we discuss the expression and regulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in stress-sensitive brain regions closely related to the pathophysiology of *** focused on associated molecular pathways and neural circuits,with special attention to the brain-derived neurotrophic factor–tropomyosin receptor kinase B signaling pathway and the ventral tegmental area–nucleus accumbens dopamine *** determined that stress-induced alterations in brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels are likely related to the nature,severity,and duration of stress,especially in the above-mentioned brain regions of the corticolimbic ***,BDNF might be a biological indicator regulating stress-related processes in various brain regions.

Zinc oxide(ZnO)serves as a crucial functional semiconductor with a wide direct bandgap of approximately 3.37 *** reaction is commonly used in the synthesis of ZnO micro/nanostructures,given its low cost,simplicity,and easy ***,ZnO morphology engineering has become desirable through the alteration of minor conditions in the reaction process,particularly at room *** this work,ZnO micro/nanostructures were synthesized in a solution by varying the amounts of the ammonia added at low temperatures(including room temperature).The formation of Zn^(2+)complexes by ammonia in the precursor regulated the reaction rate of the morphology engineering of ZnO,which resulted in various structures,such as nanoparticles,nanosheets,microflowers,and single ***,the obtained ZnO was used in the optoelectronic application of ultraviolet detectors.

The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon *** uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification,the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was ***,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric *** findings indicate that compared to coke,iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area,and the micropores further extend and *** provides more adsorption sites for CO_(2) molecules during the gasification process,resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron *** the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron *** metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix,reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure,which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon *** kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore ***,as the proportion of iron ore increases,the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases,from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.
