Generalized Energy Storage Allocation Strategies for Load Aggregator in Hierarchical Electricity Markets

The uncertainty of user-side resource response will affect the response quality and economic benefit of load aggregator(LA).Therefore,this paper regards the flexible user-side resources as a virtual energy storage(VES),and uses the traditional narrow sense energy storage(NSES)to alleviate the uncertainty of VES.In order to further enhance the competitive advantage of LA in electricity market transactions,the operation mechanism of LA in day-ahead and real-time market is analyzed,respectively.Besides,truncated normal distribution is used to simulate the response accuracy of VES,and the response model of NSES is constructed at the same time.Then,the hierarchical market access index(HMAI)is introduced to quantify the risk of LA being eliminated in the market competition.Finally,combined with the priority response strategy of VES and HMAI,the capacity allocation model of NSES is established.As the capacity model is nonlinear,Monte Carlo simulation and adaptive particle swarm optimization algorithm are used to solve it.In order to verify the effectiveness of the model,the data from PJM market in the United States is used for testing.Simulation results show that the model established can provide the effective NSES capacity allocation strategy for LA to compensate the uncertainty of VES response,and the economic benefit of LA can be increased by 52.2%at its maximum.Through the reasonable NSES capacity allocation,LA is encouraged to improve its own resource level,thus forming a virtuous circle of market competition.

Performance Analysis of N-Continuous OFDM Systems with Low-Interference Signal

N-continuous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(NC-OFDM)is a promising multicarrier transmission waveform conceived for improving sidelobe suppression performance.To reduce the severe inband interference in traditional NC-OFDM,we have proposed low-interference signal modeling for NC-OFDM.However,spectral leakage and error may be undesirably increased owing to the limited continuous differentiability of the smooth signal.In this paper,the low-interference scheme is investigated in terms of power spectrum density(PSD)and error performance,under the parameters of the highest derivative order(HDO)and the length of the smooth signal,to prove and quantify its advantages over traditional NC-OFDM.In the context of PSD,sidelobe decay is evaluated upon considering two discontinuous points due to the finite continuity of the smooth signal and its higher-order derivatives.Furthermore,it was shown that the low-interference scheme incurs small signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)loss and bit error rate(BER)for a short length of the smooth signal or a small HDO compared to traditional NC-OFDM.Meanwhile,due to the cyclostationarity loss imposed by the smooth signal,an effective solution is suggested for the time synchronization in a practical system.Based on analyses and simulation results,the trade offs between sidelobe suppression and BER are studied.

Smooth Solution of Multi-dimensional Nonhomogeneous Conservation Law: Its Formula, and Necessary and Sufficient Blowup Criterion

In this paper, we are concerned with the necessary and sufficient condition of the global existence of smooth solutions of the Cauchy problem of the multi-dimensional scalar conservation law with source-term,where the initial data lies in W1,∞(Rn) ∩ C1(Rn). We obtain the solution formula for smooth solution, and then apply it to establish and prove the necessary and sufficient condition for the global existence of smooth solution. Moreover, if the smooth solution blows up at a finite time, the exact lifespan of the smooth solution can be obtained. In particular, when the source term vanishes, the corresponding theorem for the homogeneous case is obtained too. Finally, we give two examples as its applications, one for the global existence of the smooth solution and the other one for the blowup of the smooth solutions at any given positive time.

Resource Scheduling Strategy for Performance Optimization Based on Heterogeneous CPU-GPU Platform

In recent years,with the development of processor architecture,heterogeneous processors including Center processing unit(CPU)and Graphics processing unit(GPU)have become the mainstream.However,due to the differences of heterogeneous core,the heterogeneous system is now facing many problems that need to be solved.In order to solve these problems,this paper try to focus on the utilization and efficiency of heterogeneous core and design some reasonable resource scheduling strategies.To improve the performance of the system,this paper proposes a combination strategy for a single task and a multi-task scheduling strategy for multiple tasks.The combination strategy consists of two sub-strategies,the first strategy improves the execution efficiency of tasks on the GPU by changing the thread organization structure.The second focuses on the working state of the efficient core and develops more reasonable workload balancing schemes to improve resource utilization of heterogeneous systems.The multi-task scheduling strategy obtains the execution efficiency of heterogeneous cores and global task information through the processing of task samples.Based on this information,an improved ant colony algorithm is used to quickly obtain a reasonable task allocation scheme,which fully utilizes the characteristics of heterogeneous cores.The experimental results show that the combination strategy reduces task execution time by 29.13%on average.In the case of processing multiple tasks,the multi-task scheduling strategy reduces the execution time by up to 23.38%based on the combined strategy.Both strategies can make better use of the resources of heterogeneous systems and significantly reduce the execution time of tasks on heterogeneous systems.

Improving corrosion resistance of Zn-5Al(wt%)alloy by microalloying with samarium

The role of the rare earth element Sm in as-cast Zn-5AI alloy was studied in this work.A three times higher improvement than the control group on corrosion resistance was found with rare earth Sm adding(0.15 wt%).By using an electron prove micro analyzer(EPMA),focused ion beam(FIB)and scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy(SKPFM)techniques,two main mechanisms of the premium performance of the Sm adding were revealed.One was that the non-uniform nucleation and component undercooling induced by Sm adding,reduced theα-AI layer spacing thus improved the covering efficiency of the Al_(2)O_(3)film.The other was that the dissolved Sm in the Zn/Al eutectic structure modulated the electron work function thus induced the attenuation of Volta potential discrepancy.The experimental results show that when the addition of Sm is 0.15 wt%,the minimum Volta potential difference betweenα-AI andη-Zn phases is achieved,and excessive or deficient Sm addition will increase the Volta potential difference.

Functionalized nanoparticles are widely used in drug targeted delivery and immune microenvironment regulation.As a new type of biomaterial,cell-derived carriers are receiving considerable attention in clinical translation owing to their desirable biocompatibility and lower toxicity.Importantly,cell membrane-encapsulated nanoparticles can achieve specific biological effects from the benefit of their parent cell characteristics.In this review,we introduce the cell membrane coating technologies that are under extensive investigation,we also summarize various applications that have been developed for immunotherapy,and discuss the prospects in this field.With further understanding and integration with advanced biotechnology methods,it is believed that the continuing development of cell membrane-encapsulated nanoparticles will achieve promotion in clinical application.

Predictive modeling of 30-day readmission risk of diabetes patients by logistic regression,artificial neural network,and EasyEnsemble

Objective:To determine the most influential data features and to develop machine learning approaches that best predict hospital readmissions among patients with diabetes.Methods:In this retrospective cohort study,we surveyed patient statistics and performed feature analysis to identify the most influential data features associated with readmissions.Classification of all-cause,30-day readmission outcomes were modeled using logistic regression,artificial neural network,and Easy Ensemble.F1 statistic,sensitivity,and positive predictive value were used to evaluate the model performance.Results:We identified 14 most influential data features(4 numeric features and 10 categorical features)and evaluated 3 machine learning models with numerous sampling methods(oversampling,undersampling,and hybrid techniques).The deep learning model offered no improvement over traditional models(logistic regression and Easy Ensemble)for predicting readmission,whereas the other two algorithms led to much smaller differences between the training and testing datasets.Conclusions:Machine learning approaches to record electronic health data offer a promising method for improving readmission prediction in patients with diabetes.But more work is needed to construct datasets with more clinical variables beyond the standard risk factors and to fine-tune and optimize machine learning models.

Catalytic performance and reaction mechanisms of NO removal with NH_(3) at low and medium temperatures on Mn-W-Sb modified siderite catalysts

Iron-based catalysts have been explored for selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO due to environmentally benign characters and good SCR activity.Mn-W-Sb modified siderite catalysts were prepared by impregnation method based on siderite ore,and SCR perfor-mance of the catalysts was investigated.The catalysts were analyzed by X-ray diffrac-tion,H_(2)-temperature-programmed reduction,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller,Thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry and in-situ diffused reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS).The modified siderite catalysts calcined at 450℃ mainly consist of Fe_(2)O_(3),and added Mn,W and Sb species are amorphous.3Mn-5W-1.5Sb-siderite catalyst has a wide temperature window of 180-360℃ and good N_(2) selectivity at low temperatures.In-situ DRIFTS results show NH_(4)^(+),coordinated NH_(3),NH_(2),NO_(3)^(-)species(bidentate),NO_(2)-species(nitro,nitro-nitrito,monodentate),and adsorbed NO_(2) can be discovered on the sur-face of Mn-W-Sb modified siderite catalysts,and doping of Mn will enhance adsorbed NO_(2) formation by synergistic catalysis with Fe^(3+).In addition,the addition of Sb can inhibit sulfates formation on the surface of the catalyst in the presence of SO_(2) and H_(2)O.Time-dependent in-situ DRIFTS studies also indicate that both of Lewis and Br?nsted acid sites play a role in SCR of NO by ammonia at low temperatures.The mechanism of NO removal on the 3Mn-5W-1.5Sb-siderite catalyst can be discovered as a combination of Eley-Rideal and Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanisms with three reaction pathways.The mechanism of NO,oxidized by synergistic catalysis of Fe^(3+)and Mn^(4+/3+)to form NO_(2) among three pathways,reveals the reason of high NO_(x) conversion of the catalyst at medium and low temperatures.

Ag_(2)S Quantum Dots Decorated on Porous Cubic-CdS Nanosheets-assembled Flowers for Photocatalytic CO_(2)Reduction

The production of renewable fossil fuels such as CH_(4) and CO by photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction has attracted more and more attention.However,single photocatalyst is less efficient for photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)due to the fast recombination of photogenerated electron pairs.Herein,we successfully prepare CdS-Ag_(2)S composite by assembling the Ag_(2)S QDs cocatalyst on the surface of CdS nanosheet-assembled flower through oil-bath solvothermal method.This composite is prepared through a simple self-assembly strategy using cadmium chloride,ammonia and thiourea as precursors of the CdS nanosheet-assembled flower and silver nitrate and 3-mercaptopropionic acid as the precursors of Ag_(2)S QDs.The average diameter of Ag_(2)S QDs is apparently 6.0 nm.The light absorption edge of the composite is at around 560 nm,with the corresponding band gap at 2.14 eV.The CdS-Ag_(2)S QDs composite with 5 wt%Ag_(2)S QDs loaded achieves CO evolution rate of 16.6μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)without noble-metal cocatalysts.This strengthened photocatalytic performance and photocatalytic stability were attributed to the energy band broadening of Ag_(2)S QDs caused by quantum size effect and the large specific surface area due to the assembled flower.The mechanism underlying the enhanced photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction activity is further proposed.This study demonstrates that semiconductor-based quantum dots are strong candidates for excellent cocatalysts in photocatalysis.

Interfacial Chain Entanglements Induced Melt Memory Effect in Poly(ε-caprolactone)/Silica Nanocomposites

It is known that the enhanced melt memory effect is strongly correlated with the retarded chain dynamics.However,previous studies using differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)showed a weakened or even vanished melt memory in polymer nanocomposites,although adding nanoparticles in polymers often reduces chain mobility.In this work,we added two kinds of silica nanoparticles,O15 and W22 nanoparticles(with low and high surface silanol density,respectively),to poly(ε-caprolactone)(PCL),where the degree of chain entanglements near nanoparticles increases,and chain dynamics is gradually retarded with increasing silica content.The strongly aggregated W22 nanoparticles show significant heterogeneous nucleation,while well-dispersed O15 nanoparticles exhibit very weak heterogeneous nucleation.In contrast to the restrained self-nucleation effects during the rapid non-isothermal crystallization of two nanocomposites,we found evident melt memory effects during the slow isothermal crystallization in PCL/O15 nanocomposites as indicated by DSC and polarized light microscopy(PLM)measurements.The melt memory becomes stronger with more O15 nanoparticles,but depends non-monotonically on the loadings of W22 nanoparticles.The lifetime of the melt memory effects matches the chain re-entanglement time of the SN melts of nanocomposites,which is consistent with our previous work on PCL miscible blends.The complicated influence of silica on nucleation and crystal growth is induced by the spatial inhomogeneity of chain entanglements in the silica-filled PCL system.The decrease in the entanglement density of the interfacial chains in the SN melts of nanocomposites is conducive to nucleate under slow isothermal crystallization,but the chain mobility is still greatly restrained by the nanoparticles,causing the slow growth rate of spherulites and the difficulty to form nuclei under fast non-isothermal crystallization.
