The cDNA of growth hormone receptor (GHr) was cloned from the liver of 2.year common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (rT-pCr) and rapid amplification of cDNA end (rACE). Its open reading frame (OrF) of 1.06 nucleotides is translated into a putative peptide of 602.amino acids, including an extracellular ligand-binding domain of 2.4 amino acids (aa), a single transmembrane domain of 2. aa and an intracellular signal-transduction domain of 334 aa. Sequence analysis indicated that common carp GHr is highly homologous to goldfish (Carassius auratus) GHr at both gene and protein levels. Using a pair of gene-specific primers, a GHr fragment was amplified from the cDNA of 2.year common carp, a 2.4 bp product was identified in liver and a 32.0}bp product in other tissues. The sequencing of the products and the partial genomic DNA indicated that the difference in product size was the result of a 97 bp intron that alternatively spliced. In addition, the 32.0}bp fragment could be amplified from all the tissues of 4-month common carp including liver, demonstrating the occurrence of the alternative splicing of this intron during the development of common carp. Moreover, a semi-quantitative rT-pCr was performed to analyze the expression level of GHr in tissues of 2.year common carp and 4-month common carp. The result revealed that in the tissues of gill, thymus and brain, the expression level of GHr in 2.year common carp was significantly lower than that of 4-month common carp.

By wei formula in pressure coordinate, the stratosphere-troposphere mass exchange (STME) is diagnosed globally for 44 years from 1.58 to 2.01.using the European Center for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) reanalysis datasets. regions of mass flux into the stratosphere are found over Indonesia, bay of Bangladesh and the mid-west coast of South Africa. Compensating mass outflow from the stratosphere appears mainly over mid-latitudes near large-scale troughs. Upward and downward transport of mass at the middle and high latitudes accompany with each other. Mass flux into troposphere is stronger in autumn and winter than in spring and summer. Strong downward mass flux into the troposphere occurs in eastern Asia the whole year with nearly stable sites. Although the area of eastern Asia accounts for only 5.6% of that of the northern hemisphere (NH), its net mass exchange reaches 1..83% of that of the NH, which means that research on STME of eastern Asia is greatly important to that of the NH and even the global areas. Air across the tropopause enters more from stratosphere to troposphere than that from troposphere to stratosphere, which is possibly related with systematic bias of the assimilated datasets and with persistent rise of the tropopause height. Contributions of the mass exchange and the mass flux exchange in the NH and southern hemisphere (SH) on their latitudes increase from equator to pole, with larger contributions in the NH. Mass exchange and mass flux exchange per areas at high latitudes are larger than that at low latitudes, which means greater mass exchange efficiency at high latitudes.

Aiming at two intense shock events on October 2. and 2., 2.03, this paper presents a two-step method, which combines synoptic analysis of space weather ——“observing” and quantitative prediction ——“palpating”, and then uses it to test predictions. In the first step of “observing”, on the basis of observations of the solar source surface magnetic field, interplanetary scintillation (IpS) and ACE spacecraft, we find that the propagation of the shocks is asymmetric relative to the normal direction of their solar sources, and the Earth is located near the direction of the fastest speed and the greatest energy of the shocks. As the two fast ejection shock events, the fast explosion of coronal mass of the extremely high temperature, the strong magnetic field, and the high speed background solar wind are also helpful to their rapid propagation. In the second step of “palpating”, we adopt a new membership function of the fast shock events for the ISF method. The predicted results show that for the onset time of the geomagnetic disturbance, the relative errors between the observational and the predicted results are 1.8% and 6.7%; and for the magnetic disturbance magnitude, the relative errors are 4.1. and 3.1., re- spectively. Furthermore, the comparison among the predicted results of our two-step method with those of five other prevailing methods shows that the two-step method is advantageous. The results tell us that understanding the physical features of shock propagation thoroughly is of great importance in improving the prediction precision.

A class of latent ancestral graph for modelling the dependence structure of structural vector autoregressive （VAr） model affected by latent variables is proposed. The graphs are mixed graphs with possibly two kind of edges, namely directed and bidirected edges. The vertex set denotes random variables at dif- ferent times. In Gaussian case, the latent ancestral graph leads to a simple parameterization model. A modified iterative conditional fitting algorithm is presented to obtain maximum likelihood esti- mation of the parameters. Furthermore, a log-likelihood criterion is used to select the most appropriate models. Simulations are performed using illustrative examples and results are provided to demonstrate the validity of the methods.

In this article, we propose a class of additive-accelerated means regression models for analyzing recurrent event data. The class includes the proportional means model, the additive rates model, the accelerated failure time model, the accelerated rates model and the additive-accelerated rate model as special cases. The new model offers great flexibility in formulating the effects of covariates on the mean functions of counting processes while leaving the stochastic structure completely unspecified. For the inference on the model parameters, estimating equation approaches are derived and asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators are established. In addition, a technique is provided for model checking. The finite-sample behavior of the proposed methods is examined through Monte Carlo simulation studies, and an application to a bladder cancer study is illustrated.

Inorganic calcium carbonate precipitation from natural seawater and salinewater at various pH values was carried out experimentally. The results show the clear positiverelationships between boron concentration and δ^(1.)B of inorganic calcium carbonate with the pH ofnatural seawater and saline water. However, the variations of boron isotopic fractionation betweeninorganic calcite and seawater/saline water with pH are inconsistent with the hypothesis thatB(OH)_4^- is the dominant species incorporated into the biogenic calcite structure. The isotopicfractionation factors a between synthetic calcium carbonate precipitate and parent solutionsincrease systematically as pH increases, from 0.9884 at pH 7.60 to 1.0072.at pH 8.60 for seawaterand from 0.982. at pH 7.60 to 1.01.8 at pH 8.75 for saline water. An unusual boron isotopicfractionation factor of larger than 1.in synthetic calcium carbonate precipitated fromseawater/saline water at higher pH is observed, which implies that a substantial amount of theisotopically heavier B(OH)_3 species must be incorporated preferentially into synthetic inorganiccarbonate. The results propose that the incorporation of B(OH)_3 is attributed to the formation ofMg(OH)_2.at higher pH of calcifying microenvironment during the synthetic calcium carbonateprecipitation. The preliminary experiment of Mg(OH)_2.precipitated from artificial seawater showsthat heavier ^(1.)B is enriched in Mg(OH)_2.precipitation, which suggests that isotopically heavierB(OH)_3 species incorporated preferentially into Mg(OH)_2.precipitation. This result cannot beapplied to explain the boron isotopic fractionation of marine bio-carbonate because of thepossibility that the unusual environment in this study appears in formation of marine bio-carbonateis infinitesimal. We, however, must pay more attention to this phenomenon observed in this study,which accidentally appears in especially natural environment.
