An overview of the environmental finance policies in China： retrofitting an integrated mechanism for environmental management

Considering the significant roles of the policies in developing environmental finance, an overview is conducted on the environmental finance policies （EFPs） in China. This paper analyzed the definition, scope, evolution and main instruments of EFPs. The implementation progress of financial activities on each instrument are investigated respectively. Then the experiences learned from and failures discovered in the development of the EFPs are discussed well recommendations for further improvement of the EFPs and their implementation are provided. Our study found that the EFPs have been established in China after a four-phase evolution since the early 1980s. The policies have played a critical role in leading to a rapid development in environmental finance by involving more financial instruments to accomplish the objective-led environmental plans. Driven by the policies, the new green credit （GC）, green security （GS）, and green insurance （GI） instruments have been phased in as supplements to the conventional command and control approaches to improve the environmental governance of financial activities and pollution sources. However, the market mechanism of financial institution is limited due to their defensive and incapable performance on implementation some of EFP instruments. To further strengthen the effectiveness of EFPs in facilitating environmental man- agement, recommendations are made mainly on the aspects including developing more specific policy guidelines, enhancing information sharing and disclosure, providing sufficient economic incentives, establishing environmental liabilities with financial activities, and involving issues related to climate change, and biodiversity and ecosystem service.

Fixed-Time Antidisturbance Consensus Tracking for Nonlinear Multiagent Systems With Matching and Mismatching Disturbances

In this paper,fixed-time consensus tracking for mul-tiagent systems(MASs)with dynamics in the form of strict feed-back affine nonlinearity is addressed.A fixed-time antidistur-bance consensus tracking protocol is proposed,which consists of a distributed fixed-time observer,a fixed-time disturbance observer,a nonsmooth antidisturbance backstepping controller,and the fixed-time stability analysis is conducted by using the Lyapunov theory *** paper includes three main ***,a distributed fixed-time observer is developed for each follower to obtain an estimate of the leader’s output by utilizing the topology of the communication ***,a fixed-time disturbance observer is given to estimate the lumped disturbances for feedforward ***,a nonsmooth antidisturbance backstepping tracking controller with feedforward compensation for lumped disturbances is *** order to mitigate the“explosion of complexity”in the tradi-tional backstepping approach,we have implemented a modified nonsmooth command filter to enhance the performance of the closed-loop *** simulation results show that the pro-posed method is effective.

Comparative analysis of thermodynamic and mechanical responses between underground hydrogen storage and compressed air energy storage in lined rock caverns

Underground hydrogen storage(UHS)and compressed air energy storage(CAES)are two viable largescale energy storage technologies for mitigating the intermittency of wind and solar ***,it is meaningful to compare the properties of hydrogen and air with typical thermodynamic storage *** study employs a multi-physical coupling model to compare the operations of CAES and UHS,integrating gas thermodynamics within caverns,thermal conduction,and mechanical deformation around rock *** thermodynamic responses are validated using additional simulations and the field test *** and pressure variations of air and hydrogen within rock caverns exhibit similarities under both adiabatic and diabatic simulation *** reaches higher temperature and pressure following gas charging stage compared to air,and the ideal gas assumption may lead to overestimation of gas temperature and *** steel lining of CAES,the sealing layer(fibre-reinforced plastic FRP)in UHS is prone to deformation but can effectively mitigates stress in the sealing *** CAES,the first principal stress on the surface of the sealing layer and concrete lining is tensile stress,whereas UHS exhibits compressive stress in the same *** present research can provide references for the selection of energy storage methods.

Drinking water quality & health risk assessment of secondary water supply systems in residential neighborhoods

Secondary water supply systems(SWSSs)are important components of the water supply infrastructure that ensure residents’drinking water *** are characterized by long detention time,warm temperature,and unreasonable management,which may trigger the deterioration of water quality and increase *** this study,drinking water quality index(DWQI)and health risk assessment(HRA)were selected and modified to quantitatively assess the water quality and health risks of SWSSs in residential *** total,121 seasonal water samples were *** was observed that the water quality was excellent with the DWQI of 0.14±0.04,excluding one sample,which was extremely poor owing to its excessive total bacterial *** HRA results revealed that the health risks were low:negligible non-carcinogenic risk for any population;negligible and acceptable carcinogenic risk for children aged 6–17 and ***,samples revealed higher carcinogenic risk(7.63×10−5±3.29×10−6)for children aged 0–5,and arsenic was the major *** samples had poor water quality and higher health risks,which called for *** further investigate the water quality and health risks of SWSSs,monthly sampling was conducted during *** 24 water samples were qualified in Chinese standard(GB 5749-2022)and characterized as excellent *** HRA results were consistent with the seasonal samples’and the health risks were mainly concentrated in ***,our study provides a suitable framework for water quality security,advice for managers,and references for administrators in other cities.

Flow resistance in the channel-bar landscape of large alluvial rivers

Accurate approaches for estimating flow resistance in large alluvial rivers are fundamental for simulating discharge,sediment transport,and flood ***,methods for estimating riverbed resistance and additional resistance in the channel-bar landscapes remain poorly *** this study,we used in situ river bathymetry,sediment,and hydraulic data from the Shashi Reach in the Yangtze River to develop a semi-empirical approach for calculating flow *** method quantitatively separates flow resistance into riverbed resistance and additional resistance and shows high accuracy in terms of deviation ratio(~20%),root-mean-square error(~0.008),and geometric standard deviation(~3).Additional resistance plays a dominant role under low-flow conditions but a secondary role under high flows,primarily due to the reduction in momentum exchange in channel-bar regions as discharge *** resistance first decreases and then increases,which might be attributed to bedform changes in the lower and transitional flow regimes as flow velocity ***,our findings further the understanding of dynamic changes in flow resistance in the channel-bar landscapes of large river systems and have important implications for riverine ecology and flood management.

An anisotropic diffusion filter can be used to model a flow-dependent background error covariance matrix,which can be achieved by solving the advection-diffusion *** of the directionality of the advection term,the discrete method needs to be chosen very *** finite analytic method is an alternative scheme to solve the advection-diffusion *** a combination of analytical and numerical methods,it not only has high calculation accuracy but also holds the characteristic of the auto *** demonstrate its ability,the one-dimensional steady and unsteady advection-diffusion equation numerical examples are respectively solved by the finite analytic *** more widely used upwind difference method is used as a control *** result indicates that the finite analytic method has higher accuracy than the upwind difference *** the two-dimensional case,the finite analytic method still has a better *** the three-dimensional variational assimilation experiment,the finite analytic method can effectively improve analysis field accuracy,and its effect is significantly better than the upwind difference and the central difference ***,it is still a more effective solution method in the strong flow region where the advective-diffusion filter performs most prominently.

Two-dimension(2D)van der Waals heterojunction holds essential promise in achieving high-performance flexible near-infrared(NIR)***,we report the successful fabrication of ZnSb/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene based flexible NIR photodetector array via a facile photolithography *** single ZnSb/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)photodetector exhibited a high light-to-dark current ratio of 4.98,fast response/recovery time(2.5/1.3 s)and excellent stability due to the tight connection between 2D ZnSb nanoplates and 2D Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene nanoflakes,and the formed 2D van der Waals *** polyethylene terephthalate(PET)substrate enables the ZnSb/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)photodetector withstand bending such that stable photoelectrical properties with non-obvious change were maintained over 5000 bending ***,the ZnSb/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)photodetectors were integrated into a 26×5 device array,realizing a NIR image sensing application.

A novel seal-flow multi-vortex friction stir lap welding of metal to polymer matrix composites

The friction stir lap welding(FSLW)of metal to polymer is a challenging work due to the unavoidable polymer *** this problem,a novel seal-flow multi-vortex friction stir lap welding(SM-FSLW)technology based on the subversively-designed multi-step pin was put *** 7075 aluminum alloy and short glass fiber-reinforced polyether ether ketone(PEEK)as research subjects,the welding temperature,material flow,formation and tensile shear strength of dissimilar materials lap joint under the SM-FSLW were studied and compared with those under traditional FSLW based on the conical *** multi-step pin rather than the conical pin effectively hindered the polymer overflowing due to the formation of vortexes by the step,thereby attaining a joint with a smooth *** with traditional FSLW,the SMFSLW obtained the higher welding temperature,the more violent material flow and the larger area with high flow velocity,thereby producing the macro-mechanical and micro-mechanical interlockings and then heightening the joint loading *** tensile shear strength of lap joint under SM-FSLW was 27.8% higher than that under traditional *** SM-FSLW technology using the multi-step pin provides an effective way on obtaining a heterogeneous lap joint of metal to polymer with the excellent formation and high strength.

Genetic source,migration and accumulation of helium under deep thermal fluid activities:A case study of Ledong diapir area in Yinggehai Basin,South China Sea

Based on the geochemical parameters and analytical data,the heat conservation equation,mass balance law,Rayleigh fractionation model and other methods were used to quantify the in-situ yield and external flux of crust-derived helium,and the initial He concentration and thermal driving mechanism of mantle-derived helium,in the Ledong Diapir area,the Yinggehai Basin,in order to understand the genetic source,migration and accumulation mechanisms of helium under deep thermal fluid *** average content of mantle-derived He is only 0.0014%,the ^(3)He/^(4)He value is(0.002–2.190)×10^(−6),and the R/Ra value ranges from 0.01 to 1.52,indicating the contribution of mantle-derived He is 0.09%–19.84%,while the proportion of crust-derived helium can reach over 80%.Quantitative analysis indicates that the crust-derived helium is dominated by external input,followed by in-situ production,in the Ledong diapir *** crust-derived helium exhibits an in-situ 4 He yield rate of(7.66–7.95)×10^(−13)cm^(3)/(a·g),an in-situ 4 He yield of(4.10–4.25)×10^(−4)cm^(3)/g,and an external 4 He influx of(5.84–9.06)×10^(−2)cm^(3)/*** results may be related to atmospheric recharge into formation fluid and deep rock-water *** ratio of initial mole volume of 3 He to enthalpy(W)is(0.004–0.018)×10^(−11) cm^(3)/J,and the heat contribution from the deep mantle(X_(M))accounts for 7.63%–36.18%,indicating that deep hot fluid activities drive the migration of mantle-derived 3 *** primary helium migration depends on advection,while the secondary migration is controlled by hydrothermal degassing and gas-liquid *** deep to shallow layers,the CO_(2/3) He value rises from 1.34×10^(9)to 486×10^(9),indicating large amount of CO_(2)has *** the influence of deep thermal fluid,helium migration and accumulation mechanisms include:deep heat driven diffusion,advection release,vertical hydrothermal degassing,shallow lateral migration,accumulation in traps far from faults,

Maternal weight and its association with risk of overweight in offspring:a trajectory analysis from a birth cohort in China

Background Most studies on the association of maternal pregnancy weight with offspring weight trajectory have a short follow-up *** study aimed to explore the associations of maternal prepregnancy body mass index(BMI)and gestational weight gain(GWG)with childhood weight trajectories in a 7-year birth *** A total of 946 mother–child pairs(467 boys and 479 girls)from a longitudinal birth cohort in Tianjin City,China,were included in this study,ranging from pregnancy to offspring at 7 *** outcome variable was defined as overweight or not overweight in offspring at the last round.A group-based trajectory model was applied to identify childhood BMI trajectory *** Five discrete BMI trajectory groups were identified and characterized as constant underweight(25.2%),constant normal weight(42.8%),and high or increasing trajectory[at risk of overweight(16.9%),progressive overweight(11.0%)and progressive obesity(4.1%)].Maternal prepregnancy overweight was associated with 1.72(95%CI 1.14–2.60,P=0.01)to 4.02(95%CI 1.94–8.36,Pweight[relative risk ratio(RRR)2.09,95%CI 1.27–3.46,P=0.004]and progressive obesity(RRR 3.33,95%CI 1.13–9.79,P=0.029).Children in all high or increasing trajectory groups were associated with greater overweight risk at the last round[risk ratios(RRs)ranged from 3.54(95%CI 2.53–4.95,Pweight and excessive gestational weight gain were associated with increasing or high-level childhood body mass index trajectories as well as a greater risk of overweight at 7 years.
