Syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine and E-cadherin/ICAM-1 gene protein expression in gastric carcinoma

AIM： To explore the syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） and gene protein expression in gastric carcinoma METHODS： Preoperative data of gastric cancer cases were collected from the General Surgery Department and classified according to the criteria for syndrome differentiation in TCM. E-cadherin （E-cad） and ICAM-1 gene protein expressions were detected in postoperative specimens from these cases by the immunohistochemical EnVision two-step method. RESULTS： The E-cad positive expression rate was 90% in 100 cases of gastric carcinoma. The difference in E-cad expression was significant between the different syndrome differentiation types in TCM （P 〈 0.01）. Further group-group comparison showed that there was a significant difference in E-cad expression between the stagnation of phlegm-damp type and the deficiency in both qi and blood and the deficiency-cold of stomach and spleen types, where E-cad expression was high. There was no significant difference between the internal obstruction of stagnant toxin type and the in-coordination between liver and stomach type, where E-cad expression was relatively low. The ICAM-1 positive expression rate was 58%, and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups （x^2= 8.999, P 〉 0.05）. CONCLUSION： E-cad expression is relatively low in the internal obstruction of stagnant toxin type and the incoordination between liver and stomach type, where tumor development and metastasis may be associated with low E-cad expression, or with low homogeneous adhesiveness between tumor cells.

The silicone rubber composites present remarkable mechanical properties due to the double network structure constructed with molecular network of matrix and filler network of ***,the filler network structure and corresponding reinforcement mechanism are still under debate and need to be further probed with the aid of applicative advanced analysis ***,small-angle neutron scattering(SANS)and synchrotron radiation X-ray nano-computed tomography(Nano-CT)techniques are employed to explore the evolution of filler networks of fumed,precipitated and sol-gel silica,*** studying results reveal the formation of filler network constructed by the interconnecting of branched silica *** the silica with highly associated structure,pertaining to amorphous morphology,small size,and large surface area,presents short distance and effective molecular chain bridge between aggregates,thus forming strong and steady filler *** work would provide deep-seated revisiting of filler networks and corresponding reinforcement mechanism and offer guidance for optimizing the mechanical properties of silicone rubber.

The x-ray absorption spectroscopy is a powerful tool for the detection of thermodynamic conditions and atomic structures on warm dense ***,we perform first-principles molecular dynamics and x-ray absorption spectrum calculations for warm dense ammonia,which is one of the major constituents of Uranus and *** nitrogen K-shell x-ray absorption spectrum(XAS)is determined along the Hugoniot curve,and it is found that the XAS is a good indicator of the prevailing thermodynamic *** atomic structures at these conditions are *** indicate that the ammonia could dissociate to NH_(x)(x=0,1,or 2)fragments and form nitrogen clusters,and the ratios of these products change with varying *** contributions to the XAS from these products show quite different characteristics,inducing the significant change of XAS along the Hugoniot *** model simulations imply that the distribution of the peak position of atomic XAS is the dominant factor affecting the total XAS.

Due to the insufficient slip systems,Mg and its alloys exhibit poor ductility during plastic deformation at room *** solve this problem,alloying is considered as a most effective method to improve the ductility of Mg alloys,which attracts wide attentions of ***,it is still a challenge to understand the ductilization mechanism,because of the complicated alloying elements and their interactions with Mg *** this work,pure Mg and Mg-Y alloys were comparatively studied to investigate the effect of Y addition on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties.A huge increase of uniform elongation,from 5.3%to 20.7%,was achieved via only 3 wt%addition of *** results revealed that the only activated slip system in pure Mg was basalslip,led to its poor ductility at room *** contrast,a large number of stacking faults and non-basal dislocations withcomponent were observed in the deformed Mg-Y alloy,which was proposed as the main reason for significant improvement of strain hardening and *** resolution TEM indicated that most of the stacking faults were II and 12 intrinsic faults,which played a critical role in improving the ductility of Mg-Y *** of Y into Mg alloy decreased the stacking fault energy,which induced high density stacking faults in the grain interior.

BACKGROUND Primary immune thrombocytopenia(ITP) is a rare autoimmune disease associated with a high bleeding risk. For those patients with gastric cancer, surgical treatment may be the only option for therapy. Here, we present the first case of gastric cancer with severe and medically refractory ITP treated by radical resection of the gastric cancer and splenectomy. CASE SUMMARY A 54-year-old female patient was admitted to our surgical department with a 2 mo history of decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, and weight loss, which progressed to difficulty in feeding 3 d prior to her visit. According to her medical history, she was diagnosed with refractory ITP [platelets(PLT), 3000-8000/μL] 10 years ago. After admission, the patient underwent a splenectomy and a distal subtotal gastrectomy(D2 radical resection) with Roux-en-Y reconstruction simultaneously. She had an uneventful postoperative course with a slight increase in her PLT count. This case is unique in terms of the patient's complication of severe and medically refractory *** Simultaneous splenectomy, preoperative PLT transfusion, and early enteral nutrition were important treatment methods for helping this patient recover.

In this paper we propose a dispersive method to describe two-body scattering with unitarity imposed. This approach is applied to elastic ππ scattering. The amplitudes keep single-channel unitarity and describe the experimental data well, and the low-energy amplitudes are consistent with that of chiral perturbation theory. The pole locations of the σ, f0(980), ρ(770) and f2(1270) and their couplings to ππ are obtained. A virtual state appearing in the isospin-two S-wave is confirmed. The correlations between the left(and right) hand cut and the poles are discussed. Our results show that the poles are more sensitive to the right hand cut rather than the left hand cut. The proposed method could be used to study other two-body scattering processes.

The mechanical behavior of solution heat-treated and pre-aged Mg–6Zn–1Gd–1Er alloys during hot compression(from 180 to 330℃)has been *** results showed that the flow stress curves of the pre-aged sample(PAS)intersected with that of the solution heat-treated sample(SHTS)during hot *** 180℃,when the true strain is 0.27 and 0.47,the PAS showed larger and smaller stress(210.80 MPa vs.207.58 MPa and 205.67 MPa vs.207.93 MPa)than the SHTS,*** phenomena were due to the stronger interaction of W phase and dislocations/twins under the strain of 0.27,while dynamic recrystallization softening occurred under the strain of *** the temperature increased to 330℃,the flow stress of PAS and SHTS showed an opposite trend to that of 180℃.Continuous dynamic recrystallization and particle stimulated nucleation based on slip operations are the main deformation mechanisms under 330℃.At the true strain is 0.33 and 0.53,the PAS has smaller and larger stress(61.32 MPa vs.63.69 MPa and 58.75 MPa vs.57.09 MPa)than the SHTS,*** increasing deformation resistance of dynamic precipitation improved the flow stress under smaller strain and dynamic recrystallization decreased the flow stress under high strain,which resulted the opposite phenomena of SHTS.
