Visual electrophysiological assessment of children with poor response to treatment for functional amblyopia

AIM:To assess the visual electrophysiological outcomes in children with functional amblyopia who exhibited poor response to conventional ***:Twenty-one children with functional amblyopia,aged 5.7±2.1y(range:4-10y),underwent comprehensive ophthalmic and refractive *** domain-optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT)and multifocal electroretinography(mfERG)were conducted to analyze the macular retinal thickness and the first-order response P1 ring of the mfERG in the amblyopic eye(AE)compared to the fellow good eye(GE).RESULTS:Initially,visual acuity in the AE ranged from 20/800 to 20/40,while the GE exhibited a range of 20/25 to 20/20(P<0.01).After 6mo of treatment,17 patients demonstrated improved visual acuity in the AE to 20/50 or better,while 4 children showed no ***-OCT revealed comparable macular and optic disc structures between the AE and *** to treatment,the mfERG P1 ring amplitude was significantly reduced in the AE compared to GE(P<0.05).The AE/GE ratio of P1 ring amplitude showed significant improvement ***,a smaller AE/GE ratio before treatment was associated with poorer improvement ***:In the management of functional amblyopia,a thorough assessment of amblyopic eye examinations is *** 20%of amblyopic eyes may not achieve significant improvement in visual acuity,despite the absence of detectable organic retinal *** may reveal underlying *** mfERG into initial assessments or treatment follow-ups can aid in identifying potential hidden retinal defects and predicting the prognosis of the amblyopic eye.

Eosinophilia and clonorchiasis presenting as fever of unknown origin in adult patients

Fever of unknown origin(FUO)is recognized as fever with uncertain diagnosis despite three days of hospital admission or three or more outpatient visits.[1]Acute liver fluke infection is characterized by fever,right upper quadrant pain,hepatomegaly,jaundice,and peripheral blood *** contrast,chronic liver fluke infection is asymptomatic in its early stage,but can easily progress to cirrhosis,cancer,or bile duct cancer *** diagnosis of clonorchiasis is particularly challenging in non-endemic *** herein report an unusual case of liver fluke infection in a patient who presented with FUO and eosinophilia.A 38-year-old male was admitted to our hospital with a history of intermittent and recurrent fever for over 10 d and a history of sudden abdominal pain for1 *** had no other medical *** than 10d ago,he visited our emergency department because of FUO,with his body temperature reaching 39.7℃,and he had no other symptoms at that *** and radiological examinations revealed:white blood cell(WBC)counts,10.9×10^(9)/L;neutrophil percentage,84.5%;eosinophil percentage,3.1%;C-reactive protein(CRP),141 mg/L;liver and kidney function,normal;influenza virus,negative;urine and stool tests,normal;and chest computed tomography(CT)findings,*** fever subsided after 1 week of anti-infective treatment with *** tests revealed the following results:WBC,15.0×10^(9)/L;neutrophil percentage,70.0%;eosinophil percentage,16.8%;and CRP,122 mg/*** antimicrobial treatment was then discontinued.

目的分析化瘀涤痰汤改善中风偏瘫患者肢体运动功能的效果。方法选取99例阜阳市妇女儿童医院收治的中风偏瘫患者,分为对照组(49例)和研究组(50例),分组方法为随机数字表法,选例时间设置在2018年1月-2022年12月。对照组采用西医药物及运动疗法治疗,研究组在对照组的基础上采用化瘀涤痰汤治疗,两组患者连续治疗1个月。比较两组治疗后临床疗效及治疗期间不良反应发生情况,治疗前后中医证候积分、神经功能、肢体运动功能、神经营养及炎症因子指标。结果治疗后,研究组总有效率高于对照组;治疗后与治疗前比较,两组中医证候各项积分、美国国家卫生研究院卒中量表(national institute of health stroke scale,NIHSS)评分、血清CXC趋化因子16(CXC chemokineligand 16,CXCL-16)、基质金属蛋白酶-9(matrix metalloproteinase-9,MMP-9)水平降低,两组间治疗后相比,研究组更低;治疗后与治疗前比较,两组肢体运动功能Fugl-Meyer(fugl-meyer,FMA)评分、Brunnstrom分期量表评分、血清脑源性神经营养因子(brain-derived neurotrophic factor,BDNF)、神经生长因子(nerve growth factor,NGF)水平升高,研究组更高(两组间治疗后相比),差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论化瘀涤痰汤治疗中风偏瘫有助于缓解患者的临床症状,调节神经营养及炎症因子指标水平表达,改善神经功能及肢体运动功能,提高临床疗效,且安全性高。

Transient performance comparison of grid-forming converters with different FRT control strategies

The Eastern China flood of June 2015 and its causes

Two record-breaking rainfalls in late June of 2015 led to widespread flooding in Eastern China, espe- cially over the Yangtze River Delta, and this in turn led to huge economic losses. Analysis suggests that the E1 Nifio- like sea surface temperature pattern during that month facilitated an intensified and southwestward-shifted west- ern Pacific subtropical high and enhanced water vapor convergence along the Meiyu front, which provided a favorable environment for the occurrence of heavy rainfall over Eastern China. Meanwhile, two midlatitude troughs were successively formed over East Asia in the second half of the month as a consequence of the downstream energy dispersions of two midlatitude blockings. These configu- rations facilitated the southward intrusion of the extrat- ropical high potential vorticity toward the Meiyu front. In this way, the ascent was enhanced along the Meiyu front over Eastern China, and the occurrence of heavy rainfalls was triggered. Moreover, a tropical intraseasonal active convection propagated northward and also contributed constructively to the heavy rainfall.

Estimation of 1-dimensional nonlinear stochastic differential equations based on higher-order partial differential equation numerical scheme and its application

A method based on higher-order partial differential equation （PDE） numerical scheme are proposed to obtain the transition cumulative distribution function （CDF） of the diffusion process （numerical differentiation of the transition CDF follows the transition probability density function （PDF））, where a transformation is applied to the Kolmogorov PDEs first, then a new type of PDEs with step function initial conditions and 0, 1 boundary conditions can be obtained. The new PDEs are solved by a fourth-order compact difference scheme and a compact difference scheme with extrapolation algorithm. After extrapolation, the compact difference scheme is extended to a scheme with sixth-order accuracy in space, where the convergence is proved. The results of the numericM tests show that the CDF approach based on the compact difference scheme to be more accurate than the other estimation methods considered; however, the CDF approach is not time-consuming. Moreover, the CDF approach is used to fit monthly data of the Federal funds rate between 1983 and 2000 by CKLS model.

Decarbonization in the power sector is one of the critical factors in achieving carbon neutrality,and the top-level design needs to be carried out from the perspective of power planning.A multi-stage provincial power expansion planning(PPEP)model is proposed to simulate the power expansion planning at different stages of the power systems rich in renewable energy *** model covers 16 types of power supply,considering macro-policy demands and micro-operation *** stand-alone capacity aggregation model for coal-based units within the PPEP model allows for accurate construction and retirement with different stand-alone ***,the soft dynamic time warping(soft-DTW)based K-medoids technique is adopted to generate typical scenarios for balancing the model accuracy and solution ***,a multi-market trading equilibrium(MMTE)mechanism is proposed to address the differences in the levelized cost of energy between the coal-based and renewable-based units by participating in energy and ancillary service *** the coalbased units take on the task of providing ancillary services from renewable-based units in the ancillary service market,the MMTE mechanism can effectively equalize the profits of both by having renewable-based units purchase ancillary services from coal-based units and pay for them,thus improving the motivation of coal-based units.A case study in Xinjiang province,China,verifies the effectiveness of the planning results of the PPEP model and the profit equilibrium realization of the MMTE mechanism.

This paper is about predicting the outcome of tennis matches of the Association of Tennis Professionals(ATP)and the Women's Tennis Association(WTA)using both data and *** are many factors that influence that *** important question is which factors have significant influence on the *** have identified numerous factors and systematically prioritized them subjectively and objectively,so as to improve the accuracy of the *** then used them to predict the win-lose outcome of the 2015 US OPEN tennis matches(63 men and 31 women's games)before they took *** tennis match prediction in sports literature thus far reported an accuracy rate of 70%.The accuracy of our proposed model which combines data and judgment reaches 85.1%.

TURBULENCE TRANSPORT OF SURFACTANT SOLUTION FLOW DURING DRAG REDUCTION DEGENERATION

Turbulence transport of surfactant solution flow during drag reduction degeneration is investigated experimentally in a two-dimensional channel. Particle Image Velocimetry （PIV） system is used to take two-dimensional velocity frames in the stream- wise and wall-normal plane. The additive of surfactant is cetyltrimethyl ammonium chloride （CTAC） with the mass concentration of 25 ppm. Drag reduction degeneration happens in the CTAC solution flow, exhibiting the maximal drag reduction at Re = 25 000 and losing drag reduction completely at Re - 40 000. The velocity frames are statistically analyzed in four quadrants which are divi- ded by the u - axis and v - axis. It is found that the phenomenon of ＂Zero Reynolds shear stress＂ is caused by the decrease of wall- normal fluctuations and its symmetrical distribution in quadrants. The increase of Reynolds number leads to the enhancement of tur- bulence burst phenomenon. During the drag reduction degeneration, the CTAC solution flow contains both high turbulence intensity and drag reduction states.
