Carbon-based materials with combined functions of thermal management and electromagnetic protection: Preparation, mechanisms, properties, and applications

The proliferation of high-power,highly informationized,and highly integrated electronic devices and weapons equipment has given rise to increasingly conspicuous issues about electromagnetic(EM)pollution and thermal accumulation.These issues,in turn,impose constraints on the performance of such equipment and jeopardize personnel safety.Carbon materials,owing to their diverse and modifiable structures,offer adjustable thermal and electric conductivity,rendering them highly promising for applications in fields such as thermal management and EM protection which have garnered extensive research and review.The pursuit of integrated device and equipment development has elevated the demand for multifunctional materials,prompting significant research into carbon-based composite materials that include both thermal management and EM protection functionalities.Notably,there are no relevant reviews on this topic at present.Consequently,this work consolidates research findings from recent years on carbon matrix composites exhibiting dual attributes of thermal management and EM protection.These attributes include thermally conductive electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials,thermally insulating EMI shielding materials,thermally conductive EM wave(EMW)absorbing materials,and thermally insulating EMW absorbing materials.The paper elucidates the fundamental principles underpinning thermal conduction,thermal insulation,EMW absorbing,and EMI shielding.Additionally,it engages in discussions surrounding areas of contention,design strategies,and the functional properties of various material designs.Ultimately,the paper concludes by presenting the challenges encountered and potential research strategies about composites endowed with both thermal management and EM protection functionalities,while also envisaging the development of novel multifunctional EM protection materials.

Robot-Oriented 6G Satellite-UAV Networks: Requirements, Paradigm Shifts, and Case Studies

Networked robots can perceive their surroundings, interact with each other or humans,and make decisions to accomplish specified tasks in remote/hazardous/complex environments. Satelliteunmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) networks can support such robots by providing on-demand communication services. However, under traditional open-loop communication paradigm, the network resources are usually divided into user-wise mostly-independent links,via ignoring the task-level dependency of robot collaboration. Thus, it is imperative to develop a new communication paradigm, taking into account the highlevel content and values behind, to facilitate multirobot operation. Inspired by Wiener’s Cybernetics theory, this article explores a closed-loop communication paradigm for the robot-oriented satellite-UAV network. This paradigm turns to handle group-wise structured links, so as to allocate resources in a taskoriented manner. It could also exploit the mobility of robots to liberate the network from full coverage,enabling new orchestration between network serving and positive mobility control of robots. Moreover,the integration of sensing, communications, computing and control would enlarge the benefit of this new paradigm. We present a case study for joint mobile edge computing(MEC) offloading and mobility control of robots, and finally outline potential challenges and open issues.

Optimal search path planning of UUV in battlefeld ambush scene

Aiming at the practical application of Unmanned Underwater Vehicle(UUV)in underwater combat,this paper proposes a battlefield ambush scene with UUV considering ocean current.Firstly,by establishing these mathematical models of ocean current environment,target movement,and sonar detection,the probability calculation methods of single UUV searching target and multiple UUV cooperatively searching target are given respectively.Then,based on the Hybrid Quantum-behaved Particle Swarm Optimization(HQPSO)algorithm,the path with the highest target search probability is found.Finally,through simulation calculations,the influence of different UUV parameters and target parameters on the target search probability is analyzed,and the minimum number of UUVs that need to be deployed to complete the ambush task is demonstrated,and the optimal search path scheme is obtained.The method proposed in this paper provides a theoretical basis for the practical application of UUV in the future combat.

Along with the development of 5G network and Internet of Things technologies,there has been an explosion in personalized healthcare systems.When the 5G and Artificial Intelligence(Al)is introduced into diabetes management architecture,it can increase the efficiency of existing systems and complications of diabetes can be handled more effectively by taking advantage of 5G.In this article,we propose a 5G-based Artificial Intelligence Diabetes Management architecture(AIDM),which can help physicians and patients to manage both acute complications and chronic complications.The AIDM contains five layers:the sensing layer,the transmission layer,the storage layer,the computing layer,and the application layer.We build a test bed for the transmission and application layers.Specifically,we apply a delay-aware RA optimization based on a double-queue model to improve access efficiency in smart hospital wards in the transmission layer.In application layer,we build a prediction model using a deep forest algorithm.Results on real-world data show that our AIDM can enhance the efficiency of diabetes management and improve the screening rate of diabetes as well.

Comprehensive Summary,A convenient approach for the construction of 2-aminobenzothiazoles via I2-catalyzed tandem cyclization reaction of amines and carbon disulfide has been developed.The present approach starts from simple and readily available starting materials,affording a series of 2-aminobenzothiazoles in up to 89%yields under metal-free conditions.In this work,C—H/N—H functionalization was achieved and multiple C-hetero bonds were successfully constructed in one pot.

Interparticle energy transfer between NaNdF_(4) and NaYbF_(4) in self-assembled nanostructures

Forster resonance energy transfer(FRET)is a widely used spectroscopic technique.The development of donor-acceptor combinations is essential to advance this technique.To make the energy transfer efficiency independent of the external environment,we explored the potential of constructing donor—acceptor combinations with lanthanide ion-doped nanoparticles(LNPs),in which the 4f electrons of the lanthanide ions are shielded by the 5s and 6p electrons.Non-radiative energy transfer between LNPs was demonstrated in self-assembled nanostructures and core-shell structure of LNPs was used to control the distance between donor and acceptor in self-assembled nanostructures.The emission intensity ratio of donor and acceptor illustrates that the energy transfer efficiency decreases significantly with increasing distance and the effective energy transfer distance is 8.5 nm,showing the potential of using LNPs as donor-acceptor pairs in the construction of distance-dependent energy transfer system.

Anti-inflammatory mechanism of the non-volatile ingredients performance liquid chromatography-heated electron spray ionization-high resolution mass spectroscope and cell metabolomics

OBJECTIVE:To explore the anti-inflammatory components and mechanism of the non-volatile ingredients of patchouli.METHODS:High performance liquid chromatographyheated electron spray ionization-high resolution mass spectroscope(HPLC-HESI-HRMS)was used to analyze the chemical constituents of the non-volatile ingredients of patchouli.The anti-inflammatory activity of ingredients was evaluated using lipopolysaccharide(LPS)induced RAW264.7 cell inflammation model,and the antiinflammatory mechanism was investigated using multivariate statistical analysis of cell metabolomics.RESULTS:The non-volatile ingredients of patchouli were characterized by HPLC-HESI-HRMS,and 36 flavonoids and 18 other components were identified.These ingredients of patchouli not only had a good protective effect on the LPS-induced inflammation model of RAW264.7 cells,but also regulated the expression levels of arginine,L-leucine,cholesterol,fructose and sorbitol by down-regulating arginine metabolism,aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis,polyol/sorbitol pathway,so as to reduce inflammation and reduce cell damage.CONCLUSION:The non-volatile ingredients of patchouli had good anti-inflammatory effect and exerted its curative effect by regulating endogenous metabolic pathway to reduce inflammatory response.

Simultaneous photocatalytic degradation and SERS detection of tetracycline with self-sustainable and recyclable ternary PI/TiO2/Ag flexible microfibers

Facile and efficient photocatalysts using sunlight,as well as fast and sensitive surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)substrates,are urgently needed for practical degradation of tetracycline(TC).To meet these requirements,a new paradigm for PI/TiO_(2)/Ag organic‒inorganic ternary flexible microfibers based on semiconducting titanium dioxide(TiO_(2)),the noble metal silver(Ag)and the conjugated polymer polyimide(PI)was developed by engineering a simple method.Under sunlight,the photocatalytic characteristics of the PI/TiO_(2)/Ag flexible microfibers containing varying amounts of Ag quantum dots(QDs)were evaluated with photocatalytic degradation of TC in aqueous solution.The results demonstrated that the amount of Ag affected the photocatalytic activity.Among the tested samples,PI/TiO_(2)/Ag-0.07(93.1%)exhibited a higher photocatalytic degradation rate than PI/TiO_(2)(25.7%),PI/TiO_(2)/Ag-0.05(77.7%),and PI/TiO_(2)/Ag-0.09(63.3%).This observation and evaluation conducted in the present work strongly indicated a charge transfer mechanism.Moreover,the PI/TiO_(2)/Ag-0.07 flexible microfibers exhibited highly sensitive SERS detection,as demonstrated by the observation of the Raman peaks for TC even at an extremely low concentration of 10–10 moles per liter.The excellent photocatalytic performance and SERS detection capability of the PI/TiO_(2)/Ag flexible microfibers arose from the Schottky barrier formed between Ag and TiO_(2)and also from the outstanding plasmonic resonance and visible light absorptivity of Ag,along with immobilization by the PI.The successful synthesis of PI/TiO_(2)/Ag flexible microfibers holds significant promise for sensitive detection and efficient photocatalytic degradation of antibiotics.

Three-dimensional porous In_(2)O_(3) arrays for self-powered transparent solar-blind photodetectors with high responsivity and excellent spectral selectivity

Transparent solar-blind ultraviolet photodetectors(SBUV PDs)have extensive applications in versatile scenarios,such as optical communication.However,it is still challenging to simultaneously achieve high responsivity,high transparency,and satisfying self-powered capability.Here,we demonstrated high-performance,transparent,and self-powered photoelectrochemical-type(PEC)SBUV PDs based on vertically grown ultrathin In_(2)O_(3) nanosheet arrays(NAs)with a three-dimensional(3D)porous structure.The 3D porous structure simultaneously improves the transmittance in the visible light region,accelerates interfacial reaction kinetics,and promotes photogenerated carrier transport.The performance of In_(2)O_(3) NAs photoanodes exceeds most reported self-powered PEC SBUV PDs,exhibiting a high transmittance of approximately 80%in the visible light region,a high responsivity of 86.15 mA/W for 254 nm light irradiation,a fast response speed of 15/18 ms,and good multicycle stability.The In_(2)O_(3) NAs also show excellent spectral selectivity with an ultrahigh solar-blind rejection ratio of 1319.30,attributed to the quantum confinement effect induced by the ultrathin feature(2-3 nm).Furthermore,In_(2)O_(3) NAs photoanodes show good capability in underwater optical communication.Our work demonstrated that a 3D porous structure is a powerful strategy to synchronously achieve high responsivity and transparency and provides a new perspective for designing high-performance,transparent,and self-powered PEC SBUV PDs.

Corrugated Graphene Paper Reinforced Silicone Resin Composite for Efficient Interface Thermal Management

With the rapid development of high-power-density electronic devices,interface thermal resistance has become a critical barrier for effective heat management in high-performance electronic products.Therefore,there is an urgent demand for advanced thermal interface materials(TIMs)with high cross-plane thermal conductivity and excellent compressibility to withstand increasingly complex operating conditions.To achieve this aim,a promising strategy involves vertically arranging highly thermoconductive graphene on polymers.However,with the currently available methods,achieving a balance between low interfacial thermal resistance,bidirectional high thermal conductivity,and large-scale production is challenging.Herein,we prepared a graphene framework with continuous filler structures in in-plane and cross-plane directions by bonding corrugated graphene to planar graphene paper.The interface interaction between the graphene paper framework and polymer matrix was enhanced via surface functionalization to reduce the interface thermal resistance.The resulting three-dimensional thermal framework endows the polymer composite material with a cross-plane thermal conductivity of 14.4 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)and in-plane thermal conductivity of 130W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)when the thermal filler loading is 10.1 wt%,with a thermal conductivity enhancement per 1 wt%filler loading of 831%,outperforming various graphene structures as fillers.Given its high thermal conductivity,low contact thermal resistance,and low compressive modulus,the developed highly thermoconductive composite material demonstrates superior performance in TIM testing compared with TFLEX-700,an advanced commercial TIM,effectively solving the interfacial heat transfer issues in electronic systems.This novel filler structure framework also provides a solution for achieving a balance between efficient thermal management and ease of processing.
