Valence-tailored copper-based nanoparticles for enhanced chemodynamic therapy through prolonged ROS generation and potentiated GSH depletion

Chemodynamic therapy(CDT),an inventive approach to cancer treatment,exploits innate chemical processes to trigger cell death through the generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS).While offering advantages over conventional treatments,the optimization of CDT efficacy presents challenges stemming from suboptimal catalytic efficiency and the counteractive ROS scavenging effect of intracellular glutathione(GSH).In this study,we aim to address this dual challenge by delving into the role of copper valence states in *** the unique attributes of copper-based nanoparticles,especially zero-valent copper nanoparticles(CuPd NPs),we aim to enhance the therapeutic potential of *** experiments reveal that zero-valent CuPd NPs outperform divalent copper nanoparticles(Ox-CuPd NPs)by displaying superior catalytic performance and sustaining ROS generation through a dual approach integrating peroxidase-like(POD-like)activity and Cu+***,zero-valent NPs exhibit enhanced GSH depletion compared to their divalent counterparts,thereby intensifying CDT and inducing ferroptosis,ultimately resulting in high-efficiency tumor growth *** findings reveal the impact of valences on CDT,providing novel insights for the optimization and design of CDT agents.

TRIM21-dependent ultrasmall chiral gold nanoparticles for preventing microglia senescence against Alzheimer's disease

Tripartite motif 21(TRIM21)is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that shows great promise for protein degradation through ***,ultrasmall chiral gold nanoparticles(D-or L-NPs)modified by D-or L-glutathione ligands were *** conjugated with an NLR family pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3)antibody(D-NP-a NLRP3 or L-NP-a NLRP3),DNP-a NLRP3 showed effective delivery efficiency of the antibody into microglia and prevented Aβ-mediated microglia senescence,and p16^(ink4a),a marker of senescence,in the microglia was reduced by 90.3%±7.8% while L-NP-a NLRP3 decreased by 48.01%±3.1%.Mechanistic investigations revealed that the D-NP-a NLRP3((1.5±0.3)×10^(7)M^(-1))exhibited sixteen-fold larger binding affinity to transmembrane glycoprotein SLC3A2 than L-type((9.5±2.7)×10^(5)M^(-1)),which led to a high efficiency of antibody delivery and TRIM21-dependent NLRP3 ***,the blood-brain barrier(BBB)-crossing ability of chiral NP-a NLRP3 as well as NLRP3 degradation was demonstrated in *** APP/PS1 Alzheimer's disease(AD)model mice experiments exhibited a reduction of 89.7%±6.8% for the NLRP3 protein and 84.2±7.5% for p16^(ink4a)following the intravenous administration of D-NP-a NLRP3 once a week for 60 ***,the levels of the AD markers Aβ and phosphorylatedTau in the brains were reduced by 86.2%±8.2% and 81.6%±9.1%;these were 2.1-fold and 1.9-fold higher than those treated with L-NP-a NLRP3,*** studies provide a method to rescue AD-like pathologies and prevent senescence.

One-dimensional semiconductor materials possess excellent photoelectric properties and potential for the construction of integrated nanodevices. Among them, Sn-doped CdS has different micro-nano structures, including nanoribbons,nanowires, comb-like structures, and superlattices, with rich optical microcavity modes, excellent optical properties, and a wide range of application fields. This article reviews the research progress of various micrometer structures of Sn-doped CdS, systematically elaborates the effects of different growth conditions on the preparation of Sn-doped CdS micro-nano structures, as well as the spectral characteristics of these structures and their potential applications in certain fields. With the continuous progress of nanotechnology, it is expected that Sn-doped CdS micro-nano structures will achieve more breakthroughs in the field of optoelectronics and form cross-integration with other fields, jointly promoting scientific, technological, and social development.

BACKGROUND Mazabraud’s syndrome(MS)is a rare and slowly progressive benign disease characterized by the concurrent presence of fibrous dysplasia of bone and intramuscular myxoma,and is thought to be associated with mutations of the GNAS *** date,only about 100 cases of MS have been reported in the literature,but its standard treatment strategy remains *** SUMMARY We report two cases of MS in young women who underwent different treatments based on their symptoms and disease *** first patient,aged 37,received internal fixation and intravenous bisphosphonate for a pathological fracture of the right femoral neck,excision of a right vastus medialis myxoma was subsequently performed for pain control,and asymptomatic psoas myxomas were monitored without *** testing confirmed a GNAS gene mutation in this *** second patient,aged 24,underwent right vastus intermedius muscle myxoma resection,and conservative treatment for fibrous dysplasia of the *** patients were followed-up for 17 months and 3 years,respectively,and are now in a stable *** Various treatments have been selected for MS patients who suffer different *** main treatment for myxomas is surgical resection,while fibrous dysplasia is selectively treated if the patient experiences pathological fracture or severe ***,given the documented instances of malignant transformation of fibrous dysplasia in individuals with MS,close follow-up is necessary.

Reducing Operation Emissions and Improving Work Efficiency Using a Pure Electric Wheel Drive Tractor

In response to the problems of excessive greenhouse-gas and particulate emissions and the low traction efficiency of conventional diesel tractors in the field,a purely electric wheel-side drive tractor was studied,including an electric motor drive system,a battery ballast system,and an electro–hydraulic suspension *** paper develops a dynamics model of an electric tractor-ploughing unit under complex soil conditions,leading to the proposal of an active control method for drive wheel torque and a joint control method for the traction force of the suspension system and the front-and rear-axle loads of a ***,the tractor is prototyped and assembled,and ploughing tests are carried *** ploughing results show that the active torque-distribution control method proposed in this study reduces the tractor slip by 14.83%and increases the traction efficiency by 10.28%compared with the average torquedistribution *** with the conventional traction control mode,the joint control method for traction and ballast proposed in this paper results in a 3.7%increase in traction efficiency,a 15.05%decrease in slip,and a 4.9%reduction in total drive motor energy *** study will help to improve the operation quality and traction efficiency of electric tractors in complex soil conditions.

The moisture content(MC)of municipal sludge is the key factor affecting sludge treatment and disposal technologies,while the vast majority of existing measurement methods are off-line and *** realize rapid online detection for the MC of sludge,a detection method based on the microwave reflection principle is proposed:experiments are carried out and the MC computation model of the sludge is derived using the resonant frequency and the permittivity(e').The results reveal that the detection accuracy of granular sludge with a thickness of 10 mm is *** theoretical model between the MC and the real part of e'is developed,and the relationship between the resonant frequency and e'is expressed by a cubic *** average error and the root mean square error(RMSE)of sludge are 2.06%and 2.49%,*** prediction model for the MC of sludge is also given,and the determination coefficient and RMSE are 0.981 and 2.06%,respectively.

The oxidation behavior of the Al CoCrFeNiYTa_(x)high entropy alloy(HEA)doped with different Ta contents at 1100℃is *** this study,different reasons for the spallation of the oxide scales of HEAs without/with excessive Ta addition after 1000 h of oxidation are discussed,and the most suitable Ta doping content for this HEA is explored,in which the HEA exhibits both an exceptionally low oxidation rate,and the formation of oxide scales composed of intact a-Al_(2)O_(3).Meanwhile,it is found that the addition of Ta can effectively inhibit the phase transition of β phase,which makes the surface of the oxide scale *** combining our experimental results with Wagner–Hauffe theory,the influence of Ta drag effect on oxide scale growth is explained,which provides some theoretical guidance for the subsequent design of AlCoCrFeNi HEAs,and can lead to the development of thermal barrier coatings at higher service temperature.

Efficacy and Safety of Chinese Herbal Medicines Combined with Chemical Drugs for Alzheimer's Disease:A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicines(CHMs)combined with chemical drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease(AD).Materials and Methods:Databases were searched to retrieve randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of CHMs combined with tacrine,galantamine,rivastigmine,donepezil,or memantine,following strict inclusion and exclusion *** research papers published in English,Chinese,and Japanese were *** primary outcome was the mini-mental state examination(MMSE)score and the secondary outcomes were AD assessment scale cognitive subscale(ADAS-Cog)score and safety ***-analysis was carried out using Rev Man 5.3 and subgroup analysis was conducted to identify the sources of ***:A total of 15 RCTs with 1386 participants were included in this *** donepezil was used in the retrieved ***-analyses showed that the combination of CHMs with donepezil led to significant improvement in the MMSE score(Z=9.45;Pweighted mean difference[WMD]=2.68,95%confidence interval[CI]:2.12-3.24)and a significant decrease in the ADAS-Cog score(Z=5.53;P<0.00001;WMD=-3.79;95%CI:-5.13--2.44).Safety evaluation demonstrated that these combination treatments relieved adverse events such as insomnia(risk ratio[RR]=0.20,95%CI:0.06-0.68;P=0.01)and hive(RR=0.10;95%CI:0.01-0.73;P=0.02).Conclusions:The combination of CHMs with a chemical drug like donepezil led to significant improvements in patient cognition as well as a better safety profile when compared to the application of a chemical drug alone.
