Intestinal microbiota imbalance may worsen the progression of ulcerative colitis(UC).Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus LS8(LR)has the potential ability to regulate microbiota through producing a novel antibacterial substance,cyclic opine:*** study aimed to investigate whether LR could ameliorate dextran sulfate sodium-induced UC in mice via modulating intestinal microbiota using fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)*** results showe. that both LR and FMT attenuated UC as evidenced by 1)alleviating disease activity index and colonic pathology;2)up-regulating MUCs and tight junction proteins;3)increasing oxidative mediators and decreasing antioxidant mediators;4)down-regulating proinflammatory cytokines and *** results we.e mainly attributable to the microbiota-regulating effect of LR,including increasing beneficial bacteria(like Akkermansia)and its related SCFAs,while decreasing harmful bacteria(like Proteobacteria)and its related LPS,thereby suppressing the hyperactivation of TLR4/NF-κB ***,LR can alleviate UC and is a potential dietary supplement to attenuate UC.

Objective The effect of the functionally unknown gene C6orf120 on autoimmune hepatitis was investigated on C6orf120 knockout rats(C6orf120^(-/-))and THP-1 *** Six–eight-we.k-old C6orf120^(-/-)and wild-type(WT)SD rats we.e injected with Con A(16 mg/kg),and euthanized after 24 *** sera,livers,and spleens we.e ***-1 cells and the recombinant protein(rC6ORF120)we.e used to explore the mechanism in *** frequency of M1 and M2 macrophages was analyzed using flow *** blotting and PCR we.e used to detect macrophage polarization-associated *** C6orf120 knockout attenuated Con A-induced autoimmune *** cytometry indicated that the proportion of CD68^(+)CD86^(+)M1 macrophages from the liver and spleen in the C6orf120^(-/-)rats decreased.C6orf120 knockout induced downregulation of CD86 protein and the mRNA levels of related inflammatory factors TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6 in the liver.C6orf120 knockout did not affect the polarization of THP-1 ***,rC6ORF120 promoted the THP-1 cells toward CD68^(+)CD80^(+)M1 macrophages and inhibited the CD68^(+)CD206^(+)M2 *** C6orf120 knockout alleviates Con A-induced autoimmune hepatitis by inhibiting macrophage polarization toward M1 macrophages and reducing the expression of related inflammatory factors in C6orf120^(-/-)rats.

An emerging direction of quantum computing is to establish meaningful quantum applications in various fields of artificial intelligence, including natural language processing(NLP). Although some efforts based on syntactic analysis have opened the door to research in quantum NLP(QNLP), limitations such as heavy syntactic preprocessing and syntax-dependent network architecture make them impracticable on larger and real-world data sets. In this paper, we.propose a new simple network architecture, called the quantum selfattention neural network(QSANN), which can compensate for these limitations. Specifically, we.introduce the self-attention mechanism into quantum neural networks and then utilize a Gaussian projected quantum self-attention serving as a sensible quantum version of self-attention. As a result, QSANN is effective and scalable on larger data sets and has the desirable property of being implementable on near-term quantum devices. In particular, our QSANN outperforms the best existing QNLP model based on syntactic analysis as we.l as a simple classical self-attention neural network in numerical experiments of text classification tasks on public data sets. we.further show that our method exhibits robustness to low-level quantum noises and showcases resilience to quantum neural network architectures.

Ground-level ozone contamination has been globally an urban air quality issue,particularly for China,which has recently made significant progress in purifying its *** exhaust emissions from motor vehicles,predominantly carbonyls and volatile organic compounds(VOCs),are among the leading contributors to ozone *** this chassislevel study,the unregulated emissions from five China-5 certified gasoline/CNG bi-fuel taxis,along with their ozone forming potential(OFP),we.e *** is found that carbonyls and VOCs we.e mainly emitted during the starting phase no matter the engine was cold or *** to gasoline,CNG fueling reduced VOCs emissions on a large scale,especially in the starting phase,but had elevated *** a fleet average,CNG fueling derived 15%and 46%less OFP than gasoline in cold-and hot-start tests,*** contributed to over 90%of the total OFP of the *** terms of alleviating ground-level ozone contamination,CNG is a feasible alternative to gasoline on light-duty vehicles.

To study the stratified stability of a water column in the North Passage of the Yangtze River Estuary,a numerical model of the hydrodynamics of this estuary is established using the EFDC *** the basis of EFDC results,this paper derives and pro-vides the discriminative index of water body stability caused by salinity and analyzes the along-range variation in water body strati-fication stability in the North Passage of the Yangtze River Estuary and the periodic variation at a key location(bend area)based on the simulation results of the numerical *** work shows that the water body in the bend area varies betwe.n mixed and strati-fied types,and the vertical average flow velocity has a good negative correlation with the differential velocity betwe.n the surface and bottom layers of the water *** model simulation results validate the formulae for the stratified stability discriminant during spring tides.

Southwe.t China is a tectonically and seismically active region,witnessing strong deformation due to the collision betwe.n the Indian and Eurasian *** the subsurface velocity structure of this region is thus important in understanding the tectonics and geodynamic processes of continental collision and in mitigating seismic *** studies have provided various 3D seismic velocity models in southwe.t ***,discrepancies exist among these models,and less effort has been made to quantify the reliability and accuracy of these existing velocity *** this study,we.use regional 3D waveform simulation to evaluate the performance of various regional crustal 3D velocity models in reproducing observed *** particularly focus on two recent earthquake sequence in the region,the 2021 Yunnan Yangbi MS_(6.4) earthquake sequence and the 2022 Sichuan Luding MS_(6.8) earthquake *** tested 3D velocity models include the Southwe.t China Community Velocity model V1.0,the Unified Seismic Tomography Models for Continental China Lithosphere V2.0,the adjoint full waveform tomography model of the crustal and upper mantle beneath Eastern Tibetan Plateau,and the shallow seismic structure model beneath continental *** results show that the tested 3D velocity models generally capture we.l long-period(we.l *** shallow velocity structures(<10 km)can improve the waveform fitting,emphasizing the importance of incorporating shallow structures in waveform *** full-waveform tomography model shows a slighter better performance than the other models,especially for the body-waves,highlighting the advantages

Corrodible metals are the newe.t kind of biodegradable materials and raise a new problem of the corrosion ***,the removal of the precipitated products has been unclear and even largely ignored in ***,we.find that albumin,an abundant macromolecule in serum,enhances the solubility of corrosion products of iron in blood mimetic Hank’s solution *** is universal for other main biodegradable metals such as magnesium,zinc and polyester-coated *** also influences corrosion rates in diverse trends in Hank’s solution and normal *** on quantitative study theoretically and experimentally,both the effects on corrosion rates and soluble fractions are interpreted by a unified mechanism,and the key factor leading to different corrosion behaviors in corrosion media is the interference of albumin to the Ca/P passivation layer on the metal *** work has illustrated that the interactions betwe.n metals and media macromolecules should be taken into consideration in the design of the next-generation metal-based biodegradable medical devices in the formulism of precision *** improved Hank’s solution in the presence of albumin and with a higher content of initial calcium salt is suggested to access biodegradable metals potentially for cardiovascular medical devices,where the content of calcium salt is calculated after consideration of chelating of calcium ions by albumin,resulting in the physiological concentration of free calcium ions.

A rational design of copper(Cu)nanocatalyst is critical to the efficient carbon dioxide(CO_(2))conversion toward C1/C2 chemical ***,the lack of actual information on the vicinal Cu interfaces hinders the intrinsic activitystructure correlation *** with atomic-scale in situ characterizations(AP-STM and synchrotron-based AP-XPS),Park and co-workers study and identify the adsorbate-driven morphological evolution of Cu nanoclusters on the Cu(997)surface,providing real-space evidence for the critical role of vicinal structures on Cu *** observed surface roughening trends caused by dissociated atomic oxygen and CO adsorbates subsequently affect the result of successive catalytic reactions to produce critical intermediates,such as carbonate and formate,during the CO_(2)reduction reaction.
