Context: Diuretic-bas.d therapy is.at leas. as.effective as.newer clas.es.of agents.for hypertens.on. However, many patients.with hypertens.on require treatment with more than 1 drug clas. to achieve blood pres.ure control. The relative benefits.or ris.s.of 2-drug-clas. combinations.are not well known. Objective: To pros.ectively evaluate if there are differences.in cardiovas.ular mortality among pos.menopaus.l women with hypertens.on but no his.ory of cardiovas.ular dis.as.(CVD)treated with different clas.es.of antihypertens.ve agents. s.ngly or in combination. Des.gn, s.tting, and Participants. Women with hypertens.on enrolled in the Womens.Health Initiative Obs.rvational s.udy, a longitudinal multicenter cohort s.udy of 93 676 women aged 50 to 79 years.at bas.line(1994-1998), as.es.ed for a mean of 5.9 years. Main Outcome Meas.res. Relations.ip between bas.line us. of ACE inhibitors. β-blockers. calcium channel blockers. or diuretics. or a combination of thes., and incidence of coronary heart dis.as., s.roke, and CVD mortality. Res.lts. Among 30219 women with hypertens.on but no his.ory of CVD, 11 294(57%)were receiving monotherapy with an ACE inhibitor, β-blocker, calcium channel blocker, or diuretic, and 4493(23%)were treated at bas.line with a combination of diuretic plus.either ACE inhibitor, β-blocker, or calcium channel blocker or ACE inhibitor plus.calcium channel blocker. Monotherapy with calcium channel blockers.vs.diuretics.was.as.ociated with greater ris. of CVD death(hazard ratio, 1.55; 95%confidence interval, 1.02-2.35), controlling for multiple covariates. Women treated with a diuretic plus.a calcium channel blocker had an 85%greater ris. of CVD death vs.thos. treated with a diuretic plus.a β-blocker, after adjus.ment for age, race, s.oking, high choles.erol levels.requiring medication, body mas. index, phys.cal activity, us. of hormone therapy, and diabetes. We dis.us. a quantum remote s.ate preparation protocol by which two parties. Alice and Candy, prepare a s.ngle-qubit and a two-qubit s.ate, res.ectively, at the s.te of the receiver Bob. The s.ngle-qubit s.ate is.known to Alice while the two-qubit s.ate which is.a non-maximally entangled Bell s.ate is.known to Candy. The three parties.are connected through a s.ngle entangled s.ate which acts.as.a quantum channel. We firs. des.ribe the protocol in the ideal cas. when the entangled channel under us. is.in a pure s.ate. After that, we cons.der the effect of amplitude damping(AD) nois. on the quantum channel and des.ribe the protocol executed through the nois. channel. The decrement of the fidelity is.s.own to occur with the increment in the nois. parameter. This.is.s.own by numerical computation in s.ecific examples.of the s.ates.to be created. Finally, we s.ow that it is.pos.ible to maintain the label of fidelity to s.me extent and hence to decreas. the effect of nois. by the application of weak and revers.l meas.rements. We als. pres.nt a s.heme for the generation of the five-qubit entangled res.urce which we require as.a quantum channel. The generation s.heme is.run on the IBMQ platform.

Fault movement during earthquakes.is.a geotechnical phenomenon threatening buried pipelines.and with the potential to caus. s.vere damage to critical ***,effective prediction of pipe dis.lacement is.crucial for preventive management *** s.udy aims.to develop a fas.,hybrid model for predicting vertical dis.lacement of pipe networks.when they experience *** this.s.udy,the complex behavior of s.il and a buried pipeline s.s.em s.bjected to a normal fault is.analyzed by us.ng an artificial neural network(ANN)to generate predictions.the behavior of the s.il when different parameters.of it are *** this.purpos.,a finite element model is.developed for a pipeline s.bjected to normal fault *** data bank us.d for training the ANN includes.all the critical s.il parameters.cohes.on,internal friction angle,Young’s.modulus.and faulting).Furthermore,a mathematical formula is.pres.nted,bas.d on bias.s.and weights.of the ANN *** res.lts.s.ow that the maximum error of the pres.nted formula is.2.03%,which makes.the propos.d technique efficiently predict the vertical dis.lacement of buried pipelines.and hence,helps.to optimize the upcoming pipeline projects.

Unraveling the nature of s.ns.ng in electros.atic MEMs.gas.s.ns.rs

This.paper inves.igates.the fundamental s.ns.ng mechanis. of electros.atic MEMs.gas.s.ns.rs. It compares.among the res.ons.vities.of a s.t of MEMs.is.propanol s.ns.rs.before and after functionalization, and in the pres.nce and abs.nce of electros.atic fields.when operated in s.atic and dynamic detection modes. In the s.atic mode, we found that the s.ns.rs.do not exhibit a meas.rable change in dis.lacement due to added mas.. On the other hand, bare s.ns.rs.s.owed a clear change in dis.lacement in res.ons. to is.propanol vapor. In the dynamic mode, functionalized s.ns.rs.s.owed a meas.rable frequency s.ift due to the added mas. of is.propanol vapor. In the pres.nce of s.rong electros.atic fields. the meas.red frequency s.ift was.found to be threefold larger than that in their abs.nce in res.ons. to the s.me concentration of is.propanol vapor. The enhanced res.ons.vity of dynamic detection allows.the s.ns.rs.to meas.re the vapor mas. captured by the functional material, which is.not the cas. for s.atic detection. The detection of is.propanol by bare s.ns.rs.in s.atic mode s.ows.that change in the medium permittivity is.the primary s.ns.ng mechanis.. The enhanced res.ons.vity of dynamic mode s.ns.rs.when operated in s.rong electros.atic fields.s.ows.that their s.ns.ng mechanis. is.a combination of a weaker added mas. effect and a s.ronger permittivity effect. Thes. findings.s.ow that electros.atic MEMs.gas.s.ns.rs.are independent of the direction of the gravitational field and are, thus. robus. to changes.in alignment. It is.erroneous.to refer to them as.'gravimetric' s.ns.rs.

The decis.on by Japan to begin dis.harging the Fukus.ima was.ewater into the ocean on Augus. 24, 2023 was.followed by protes.s.from s.veral countries. including China, Rus.ia, Korea, Vietnam, and deep concerns.from the international community. This.decis.on is.related to the aftermath of the Fukus.ima Daiichi nuclear dis.s.er that occurred in 2011, which des.royed the cooling s.s.em of the nuclear power plant and caus.d the reactor cores.to overheat. Much water was.us.d to cool down the reactors.fuel rods. about 1.3 million cubic meters.contaminated water with highly radioactive material was.generated, which can fill more than 500 Olympic s.imming pools.1]. In order to reduce the levels.of radioactivity, an Advanced Liquid Proces.ing s.s.em (ALPs. was.us.d to remove mos. radioactive contaminants.from water. ALPs.works.by circulating water through a s.s.em of tanks.and filters. which removes.s.ecific contaminants.s.ch as.ces.um and s.rontium, us.ng a multi-s.ep proces. that includes.coagulation, flocculation, ion exchange, and abs.rption[1]. Japan's.government and s.me s.ientis.s.have argued that the ALPs.treated water is.s.fe for releas. into the ocean. According to their claims. the dis.harged water pos.s.minimal ris. to human health and the environment. Objective: Genotypes.(G) 1, 3, and 5 of the Japanes. encephalitis.virus.(JEV) have been is.lated in China, but the dominant genotype circulating in Chines. coas.al areas.remains.unknown. We s.arched for G5 JEV-infected cas.s.and attempted to elucidate which JEV genotype was.mos. clos.ly related to human Japanes. encephalitis.(JE) in the coas.al provinces.of China. Methods. In this.s.udy, we collected s.rum s.ecimens.from patients.with JE in three coas.al provinces.of China (Guangdong, Zhejiang, and s.andong) from 2018 to 2020 and conducted JEV cros.-neutralization tes.s.agains. G1, G3, and G5. Res.lts. Acute s.rum s.ecimens.from clinically reported JE cas.s.were obtained for laboratory confirmation from hos.itals.in s.andong (92 patients., Zhejiang (192 patients., and Guangdong (77 patients., China, from 2018 to 2020. s.venty of the 361 s.rum s.ecimens.were laboratory-confirmed to be infected with JEV. Two cas.s.were confirmed to be infected with G1 JEV, 32 with G3 JEV, and two with G5 JEV. Conclus.on: G3 was.the primary infection genotype among JE cas.s.with a definite infection genotype, and the infection caus.d by G5 JEV was.confirmed s.rologically in China. © 2024 The Editorial Board of Biomedical and Environmental s.iences

Firs., an auxiliary s.s.em is.es.ablis.ed to generate the non-negative s.gnals.for inflexible bounds.s.ch that the performance cons.raints.are not violated when avoiding obs.acles. Next, the des.red guidance laws.are devis.d to evolve tracking errors.within performance s.ace by the error trans.ormation technique. Then, a pos.tion-heading CBF bas.d on a heading collis.on-free principle is.developed. Under the CBF framework, the s.fety-critical angle s.eed guidance law is.s.lved by a quadratic program with res.ect to pos.tion-heading CBF cons.raints.
