In this study,a two-step method was used to synthesize highly luminescent AgGaS/znS/znS quantum dots(QDs).In the first step,an inner znS shell was formed via a one-pot method,which resulted in a smaller lattice mismatch between the AgGaS core and the outer znS shell,thereby facilitating the formation of a thick outer *** the two-step shelling process,the synthesized AgGaS/znS/znS QDs showed an excellent photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of 96.4%with a peak wavelength of 508 nm,repre-senting the highest PLQY reported thus far for AgGaS ***,the effect of halogen ions in zn precursors on the shelling process was *** was proposed that the capacity of halogen ions to coordinate with the QDs influenced the balance between zn cation diffusion and znS shelling ***,the znS shelling reaction was dominant when znCl_(2)was employed,while zn cation diffusion was the dominant process under the I^(−)-rich *** work provides insights into the interfacial restructuring during the znS shelling and offers a clear map for the tailored synthesis of core/shell QDs.

Plasma electrolyte oxidation(PEO)is a surface treatment method with high dependency on the process *** paper focuses on maximizing the corrosion resistance of PEO coatings applied on Mg-5zn-0.4Ca(zX504)alloy by optimizing the process *** this purpose,the Taguchi method based on LI8 orthogonal array with mixed level design was used for optimization and determining effective *** process factors including electrolyte concentration,current density,frequency and duty cycle were considered at different *** corrosion resistance,as the performance indicator,was obtained using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy *** characteristics were also evaluated using SEM(scanning electron microscopy),EDS(energy dispersive spectroscopy),profilometer and contact angle *** statistical analysis showed that the optimum condition could be obtained at a current density of 200 mA/cm^2,frequency of 500Hz and at a duty cycle of 30%,in an electrolyle containing 15 g/L NazPO·12H2O and 10g/L KF.

A single intravenous injection of adriamycin (5 mg/kg) into rats induced nephrotic syndrome. In the various stages of the model, alterations of glomerular fixed anionic charge sites stained with colloidal iron were analyzed quantitatively by image analyzer, which is reported here for the first time. The results showed that there was a significant decrease in glomerular fixed anionic charge sites at 3 hours after administration of adriamycin as compared with the control animals (Prked loss of the anionic charge sites preceded the onset of proteinuria and steadily increased along with the progress of the disease. The results suggest that the loss of glomerular fixed anionic charge sites may play an important role in the development of proteinuria in nephrotic syndrome.

This article concerns the analysis of an unsteady stagnation point flow of Eyring–Powell nanofluid over a stretching *** influence of thermophoresis and Brownian motion is also considered in transport *** nonlinear ODE set is obtained from the governing nonlinear equations via suitable *** numerical experiments are performed using the Galerkin scheme.A tabular form comparison analysis of outcomes attained via the Galerkin approach and numerical scheme(rK-4)is available to show the credibility of the Galerkin *** numerical exploration is carried out for various governing parameters,namely,Brownian motion,steadiness,thermophoresis,stretching ratio,velocity slip,concentration slip,thermal slip,and fluid parameters,and Hartmann,Prandtl and Schmidt *** velocity of fluid enhances with an increase in fluid and magnetic parameters for the case of opposing,but the behavior is reversed for assisting *** Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameters cause an increase in temperature for both cases(assisting and opposing).The Brownian motion parameter provides a drop-in concentration while an increase is noticed for the thermophoresis *** the outcomes and the behavior of emerging parameters are illustrated *** comparison analysis and graphical plots endorse the appropriateness of the Galerkin *** is concluded that said method could be extended to other problems of a complex nature.

Petro Gram is an Excel?based magmatic petrology program that generates numerical and graphical *** Gram can model the magmatic processes such as melting,crystallization,assimilation and magma mixing based on the trace element and isotopic *** program can produce both inverse and forward geochemical models for melting processes(*** model for batch,fractional and dynamic melting,and inverse model for batch and dynamic melting).However,the program uses a forward modeling approach for magma differentiation processes such as crystallization(EC:Equilibruim Crystallization,FC:Fractional Crystallization,IFC:Imperfect Fractional Crystallization and In-situ Crystallization),assimilation(AFC:Assimilation Fractional Crystallization,Decoupled FC-A:Decoupled Fractional Crystallization and Assimillation,A-IFC:Assimilation and Imperfect Fractional Crystallization)and magma *** of the most important advantages of the program is that the melt composition obtained from any partial melting model can be used as a starting composition of the crystallization,assimilation and magma *** addition,Petro Gram is able to carry out the classification,tectonic setting,multi-element(spider)and isotope correlation diagrams,and basic calculations including Mg^#,Eu/Eu^*,εSrandεNdwidely used in magmatic petrology.

Controlled growth,synthesis,and characterization of a high density and large-scale Ge nanostructure by an easy fabrication method are key issues for optoelectronic *** quantum dots(QDs)having a density of~1011 cm^(-2) and a size as small as~8 nm are grown by radio frequency magnetron sputtering on Si(100)substrates under different heat *** annealing temperature dependent structural and optical properties are measured using AFM,XrD,FESEM,EDX,photoluminescence(PL)and raman *** effect of annealing is found to coarsen the Ge QDs from pyramidal to dome-shaped structures as they grow larger and transform the nanoislands into relatively stable and steady state ***,the annealing allows the intermixing of Si into the Ge QDs and thereby reduces the strain energy that enhances the formation of larger *** room temperature PL spectra exhibits two strong peaks at~2.87 eV and~3.21 eV attributed to the interaction between Ge,GeO_(x) and the possibility of the presence of QDs core-shell *** reports so far exist on the red shift~0.05 eV of the strongest PL peak that results from the effect of quantum ***,the raman spectra for the pre-annealed QDs that consist of three peaks at around~305.25 cm^(-1),409.19 cm^(-1) and 515.25 cm^(-1) are attributed to Ge-Ge,Ge-Si,and Si-Si vibration modes,*** Ge-Ge optical phonon frequency shift(~3.27 cm^(-1))associated with the annealed samples is assigned to the variation of shape,size distribution,and Ge composition in different *** variation in the annealing dependent surface roughness and the number density is found to be in the range of~0.83 to~2.24 nm and~4.41 to~2.14×10^(11)cm^(-2),respectively.

Based on the relief of interfacial energy density by dislocation generation at the gamma - gamma ' interfaces, a rafting prediction criterion has been developed for nickel-base single crystals under multiaxial stresses. The diagrams of rafting have been presented, and confirmed by experimental results. The rafting process have been analyzed quantitatively by the relief of interfacial energy. The criterion has been applied to study the creep behavior. The example of creep life analysis shows that the criterion can be correlated greatly to the crystallographic orientation dependence of creep behavior. (Author abstract) 11 refs.

We present examples of a controlled numerical experiment that contribute towards understanding of the physical phenomena that lead to the reduction of coherency of strong earthquake ground *** show examples for separation distance of 100 m between the two points on the ground surface,which is in the range of engineering *** examples illustrate the consequences of:(a)standing waves that result from interference of the incident and reflected waves from a near vertical contrast in material properties,(b)standing waves within a concave inhomogeneity(a semi-circular valley in our examples),and(c)smaller motions in the diffraction zone,behind the *** show that it is possible to reduce coherency,to the extent observed for recorded strong earthquake ground motion,even by a single inclusion in a half space,for incident ground motion that is *** also illustrate the combined effects of geometric spreading and finite fault width,superimposed on the otherwise dominating effects caused by *** examples show reduction of coherence for specific angles of incident waves,while,for other angles of incidence,the coherence remains essentially equal to one.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women with approximately 25-40%of these cases eventually develop metastases;the majority of which will be multi-site and include the liver(BCLM)exclusively in approximately 5%of patients with metastatic disease(1).The management and treatment of BCLM requires a multi-disciplinary approach with the current standard approach“with or without extrahepatic disease”being systemic chemotherapy and/or hormonal therapy,depending on tumour hormone receptor status(2).This is associated with a median survival time of 14.3 months(95%CI:13.5-15.5 months)(3).Loco-regional treatment to BCLM has not been accepted as treatment strategy despite encouraging results from multiple case series.
