The‘twin cities’district of Rawalpindi–Islamabad is among the most endangered seismic regions in Pakistan,with the seismic hazard assessed(0.32 g)to intensity IX MMI for a 475-year return period.A seismic hazard map for Rawalpindi–Islamabad is presented herein,based on 85 shear-wave velocity(VS)profiles obtained through geophysical H/V measurements and from the geological map of the *** between the average top thirty-meter shear-wave velocities(VS30)and surficial geological units have been *** peak ground acceleration(PGA)maps for 150,475 and 2475-year return periods were converted into a seismic intensity *** increments for different soils were used to compute PGA values for 150,475 and 2475-year return *** located on softer ground experienced a higher degree of damage from moderate *** to the presence of soft clay or liquefiable soil and lateral spreading,a few locations may be classified as hybrid sites class C and *** map is a critical step in facilitating code-based site classification and seismic design throughout Rawalpindi–*** the seismic hazard map based on seismic intensities is no longer used in engineering geology,it is still important in seismological analysis and for civil protection purposes.

Gastroparesis refers to abnormal gastric motility characterized by delayed gastric emptying in the absence of mechanical obstruction. The most common etiologies include diabetes, post-surgical and idiopathic. The most common symptoms are nausea, vomiting and epigastric pain. Gastroparesis is estimated to affect 4% of the population and symptomatology may range from little effect on daily activity to severe disability and frequent hospitalizations. The gold standard of diagnosis is solid meal gastric scintigraphy. Treatment is multimodal and includes dietary modification, prokinetic and anti-emetic medications, and surgical interventions. New advances in drug therapy, and gastric electrical stimulation techniques have been introduced and might provide new hope to patients with refractory gastroparesis. In this comprehensive review, we discuss gastroparesis with emphasis on the latest developments; from the perspective of the practicing clinician.

In this manuscript,the traversable wormhole solutions have been explored in modified f(R,G)gravity by taking into consideration the model f(R,G)=R+rG2,where R is the Ricci curvature scalar and G is the Gauss–Bonnet *** acceptable form of the redshift function has been incorporated which is a non-constant in nature along with the implementation of those already defined in literature,the two shape functions namely b(r)=r/exp(r-r0)and b(r)=r0log(r+1)/log(r0+1).It is shown by studying the energy condition and through the graphical analysis that the null energy bounds for the effective energy-momentum tensor are generally violated for the presence of the ordinary matter in modified f(R,G)*** conditions associated with the matter content threading the wormhole geometries are evaluated and in general are found to favor the null energy conditions in the vicinity of the wormhole throat,the existence of the nonexotic wormhole geometries threaded by the matter has been confirmed under this gravity.

Background: Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is the leading cardiovascular (CV) cause of mortality. C reactive protein (CRP) has linked with long-term risk of recurrent cardiovascular events or death. Albumin, in contrast to CRP known as a negative acute-phase protein. Thus a newly introduced marker assessed relation of CRP to albumin ratio (CAR), which may provide better results than the use of either marker alone. The aim of the study is to assess the association of C-reactive protein to albumin ratio (CAR) with in-hospital short-term major adverse cardiac events (MACEs) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients. Patients & Methods: A multi-centers prospective cohort study was conducted at coronary intensive care units (CICU) in Baghdad during the period from March to October 2021 that included a total of 132 patients who were diagnosed as a case of ACS. They were assessed for major adverse cardiac events (MACEs) like cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, post-MI angina, and acute heart failure while inside the ward, in addition to need for early interventional therapeutic approach in relation to (CAR) immediately at time of admission to hospital. Results: High values of CAR, whether using hs-CRP or CRP, were identified as an independent predictor for in-hospital MACEs (P value Conclusion: The CAR was independently correlated with in-hospital short-term MACEs and can be used for risk stratification in patients with ACS.

Zeolite membranes offer outstanding potentials in separation of many molecular mixtures due to their molecular sieving selectivity and the high thermal and mechanical stability that allow them to operate at harsh *** of durable and high separation performance membranes with lower fabrication and operation cost are highly demanded for industrial applications. Zeolite T membrane possesses good acid-resistance with excellent hydrophilic properties as compared to NaA zeolite membrane and can be extended to industrial organic dehydrations under an acidic environment. In the present review the research advances in development of zeolite T membranes for the dehydration of organic mixtures in acidic conditions are summarized. Especially the low temperature synthesis, and epitaxial growth of the zeolite membrane with high performance are well addressed, besides emphasis is particularly placed on ensemble synthesis of hollow fiber zeolite T membrane module and its future prospects for industrial separations.

Objective:To evaluate the antioxidant potential and pancreatic lipase inhibitory action of optimized hydroethanolic extracts of Solanum ***:Optimized extraction for maximum recovery of metabolites was performed using a combination of freeze-drying and ultrasonication followed by determination of antioxidant and antiobesity *** ultra-high performance liquid chromatography equipped with mass spectrometry was used to analyze metabolite profiling of Solanum *** studies were performed using molecular docking and electrostatic potential analysis for individual *** hypolipidemic potential of the most potent extract was assessed in the obese mice fed on fat rich ***:The 80%hydroethanolic extract exhibited the highest extract yield,total phenolic contents,total flavonoid contents along with the strongest 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl scavenging activity,total antioxidant power,and pancreatic lipase inhibitory *** 80%hydroethanolic extract not only regulated the lipid profile of obese mice but also restricted the weight gain in the liver,kidney,and *** 80%hydroethanolic extract also reduced alanine transaminase and aspartate transaminase concentrations in *** effects of plant extract at 300 mg/kg body weight were quite comparable with the standard drug ***:Solanum nigrum is proved as an excellent and potent source of secondary metabolites that might be responsible for obesity mitigation.

Satellite precipitation products,e.g.,Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission version-07(hereafter TRMM)and its successor Integrated Multi-Satellite Retrievals for Global Precipitation Measurement(hereafter IMERG)are being used at a global scale for rainfall ***,SM2RAIN-ASCAT(hereafter SM2RAIN)is a novel addition to satellite-based precipitation products which gives the rainfall estimates from the knowledge of soil moisture state and is based on‘bottom to top’approach.A comparative assessment of any newly developed product or a new version of the product is quite vital for algorithm developers and ***,this research work was carried out to evaluate the accuracy and applicability of SM2RAIN,in comparison to in-situ data,TRMM,and IMERG in diverse regions of *** comparative analysis was performed on a temporal scale(daily and monthly)and seasonal scale(spring,autumn,summer,and winter)using five performance metrics namely,root mean square error(RMSE),correlation coefficient(CC),false alarm ratio(FAR),the probability of detection(POD),and critical success index(CSI).The results showed that:(1)SM2RAIN is a better rainfall estimation product in the dry region(having ***>0.35),however,less effective in hilly and mountainous terrain having high rainfall intensity;(2)SM2RAIN provides more satisfactory estimates in winter and autumn seasons,while relative poor in the summer season;(3)SM2RAIN performs better in terms of rainfall detection with an average POD of 0.61;(4)the overall performance of SM2RAIN is very convincing and it was concluded that SM2RAIN can be a feasible satellite product for most of the areas of *** is noteworthy here to mention that this could be the preliminary assessment of SM2RAIN in diverse climatic zones of Pakistan.

A simple and sensitive flow injection spectrophotometric method is reported for the determination of vitamin E using potassium ferricyanide-Fe(Ⅲ) detection *** the presence of vitamin E,Fe(Ⅲ)/ferricyanide *** in situ reduced ions are then reacted with unreduced portion of ferricyanide/Fe(Ⅲ) to make soluble Prussian blue,which is monitored at absorption wavelength of 735 *** calibration graph was obtained in the concentration range of 0.1-40μg mL^(-1).The relative standard deviations (n=4) were in the range of 1.1-3.6%,with limits of detection(3 s blank) of 0.04μg mL^(-1).The proposed method allowed 12 injections h^(-1).The method is applied to determine vitamin E in pharmaceuticals,infant milk and blood serum samples using hexane extraction with the recoveries in the range of 93±3 to 97.5±4%.The method is validated using certified reference materials SRM 968c for blood serum samples.
