In this work the structural,electronic and thermoelectric properties of YbMg_(2)X_(2)(X=P,As,Sb,Bi)zintl compounds were investigated comprehensively using first principles *** electronic properties were studied using PBE GGA,TB-mBJ and hybrid(YS-PBE0)*** the structural parameters of optimized structures are in harmonious agreement to the available *** band structure study illustrates that the titled materials manifest metallic and semi metallic nature using PBE and TB-mBJ potentials while they show wide band gap semiconducting behavior by following hybrid(YS-PBE0)*** density of states(TDOS)and partial density of states(PDOS)were also calculated to glimpse the contribution of orbitals of atoms in the formation of *** properties were studied by using BoltzTraP2 code employed to *** get enormous values of Seebeck coefficient(S),power factor(PF)and thermoelectric figure of merit(ZT)for all the samples YbMg_(2)X_(2)(X=P,As,Sb,Bi),Moreover,the overwhelming transport properties for the titled compounds indicate the optimum level of carriers’concentration which pinpoints these materials to be better thermoelectrics in the 1-2-2 zintl family.

Smart and interconnected devices can generate meaningful patient data and exchange it automatically without any human intervention in order to realize the Internet of Things(IoT)in healthcare(HIoT).Due to more and more online security and data hijacking attacks,the confidentiality,integrity and availability of data are considered serious issues in HIoT *** this regard,lightweight block ciphers(LBCs)are promising in resourceconstrained environment where security is the primary *** prevalent challenge while designing an LBC for the HIoT environment is how to ascertain platform performance,cost,and *** of the existing LBCs primarily focus on text data or grayscale *** main focus of this paper is about securing color images in a cost-effective *** emphasis high confidentiality of color images captured by cameras in resource-constrained smartphones,and high confidentiality of sensitive images transmitted by low-power sensors in IoT *** order to reduce computational complexity and simulation time,the proposed Lightweight Symmetric Block Cipher(LSBC)exploits chaos-based confusion-diffusion operations at the inter-block level using a single *** strength of LSBC is assessed by cryptanalysis,while it is ranked by comparing it to other privacy-preserving *** results show that the proposed cipher produces promising results in terms of key sensitivity and differential attacks,which proves that our LSBC is a good candidate for image security in HIoT.

AIM To investigate survival rate and incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in patients with decompensated cirrhosis in the antiviral *** We used the korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment. korea's health insurance system is a public single-payer system. The study population consisted of 286871 patients who were prescribed hepatitis B antiviral therapy for the first time between 2007 and 2014 in accordance with the insurance ***, 48365 antiviral treatment-na?ve patients treated between 2008 and 2009 were included, and each had a follow-up period ≥ 5 years. Data were analyzed for the 1 st decompensated chronic hepatitis B(CHB) and treatment-na?ve patients(n = 7166). RESULTS The mean patient age was 43.5 years. The annual mortality rates were 2.4%-19.1%, and 5-year cumulative mortality rate was 32.6% in 1^(st) decompensated CHB treatment-na?ve subjects. But the annual mortality rates sharply decreased to 3.4%(2.4%-4.9%, 2-5 year) after one year of antiviral treatment. Incidence of HCC at first year was 14.3%, the annual incidence of HCC decreased to 2.5%(1.8%-3.7%, 2-5 year) after one year. 5-year cumulative incidence of HCC was 24.1%. Recurrence rate of decompensated event was 46.9% at first year, but the annual incidence of second decompensation events in decompensated CHB treatment-na?ve patients was 3.4%(2.1%-5.4%, 2-5 year) after one year antiviral treatment. 5-year cumulative recurrence rate of decompensated events was 60.6%. Meanwhile, 5-year cumulative mortality rate was 3.1%, and 5-year cumulative incidence of HCC was 11.5% in compensated CHB treatment-na?ve *** Long term outcome of decompensated cirrhosis treated with antiviral agent improved much, and incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma and mortality sharply decreased after one year treatment.

Objective:To study the screening of essential oils of Skimmia laureola leaves(SLO)for acute toxicity,antinociceptive,antipyretic and anticonvulsant activities in various animal ***:SLO were extracted using modified Clevenger type *** toxicity test was used in mice to observe its safety *** activity of SLO was evaluated in acetic acid induced writhing and hot plate *** induced hyperthermic mice and pentylenetetrazole induced convulsive mice were used for the assessment of its antipyretic and anticonvulsant profile ***:Substantial safety was observed for SLO in acute toxicity *** showed a high significant activity in acetic acid induced writhing test in a dose dependent manner with maximum pain attenuation of 68.48%at 200 mg/kg ***,it did not produce any relief in thermal induced pain at test *** challenged against pyrexia evoked by yeast,SLO manifested marked amelioration in hyperthermic mice,dose *** anti-hyperthermic activity(75%)was observed at 200 mg/kg *** 4 h of drug ***,SLO had no effect on seizures control and mortality caused by ***:In vivo studies of SLO showed prominent antinociceptive and antipyretic activities with ample safety profile and thus provided pharmacological base for the traditional uses of the plant in various painful conditions and *** detail studies are required to ascertain its clinical application.

AIM To validate the effects of receptor interacting protein kinase-3(RIP3) deletion in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) and to clarify the mechanism of *** Wild-type(WT) and RIP3 knockout(kO) mice werefed normal chow and high fat(HF) diets for 12 wk. The body weight was assessed once weekly. After 12 wk, the liver and serum samples were extracted. The liver tissue expression levels of RIP3, microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, protein disulfide isomerase, apolipoprotein-B, X-box binding protein-1, sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1c, fatty acid synthase, cluster of differentiation-36, diglyceride acyltransferase, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha, tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), and interleukin-6 were assessed. Oleic acid treated primary hepatocytes from WT and RIP3 kO mice were stained with Nile red. The expression of inflammatory cytokines, including chemokine(C-X-C motif) ligand(CXCL) 1, CXCL2, and TNF-α, in monocytes was *** RIP3 kO HF diet fed mice showed a significant gain in body weight, and liver weight, liver to body weight ratio, and liver triglycerides were increased in HF diet fed RIP3 kO mice compared to HF diet fed WT mice. RIP3 kO primary hepatocytes also had increased intracellular fat droplets compared to WT primary hepatocytes after oleic acid treatment. RIP3 overexpression decreased hepatic fat content. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis showed that the expression of very-low-density lipoproteins secretion markers(microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, protein disulfide isomerase, and apolipoprotein-B) was significantly suppressed in RIP3 kO mice. The overall NAFLD Activity Score was the same between WT and RIP3 kO mice; however, RIP3 kO mice had increased fatty change and decreased lobular inflammation compared to WT mice. Cell death has been extensively evaluated for decades and it is well recognized that pharmacological interventions directed to inhibit cell death can prevent significant cell loss and can thus improve an organ’s physiological *** long,only apoptosis was considered as a sole form of programmed cell *** necroptosis,a RIP1/RIP3-dependent programmed cell death,has been identified as an apoptotic backup cell death mechanism with necrotic *** evidences of necroptosis and protective effects achieved by blocking necroptosis have been extensively reported in recent ***,only a few studies reported the evidence of necroptosis and protective effects achieved by inhibiting necroptosis in liver related disease *** the number of necroptosis initiators is increasing;however,interestingly,it is still unclear that what actually triggers necroptosis in different liver diseases or if there is always a different necroptosis initiator in each specific disease condition followed by specific downstream signaling *** the precise mechanism of necroptosis as well as counteracting other cell death pathways in liver diseases could provide a useful insight towards achieving extensive therapeutic *** targeting necroptosis and/or other parallel death pathways,a significant cell loss and thus a decrement in an organ’s physiological function can be prevented.

Osthol attenuates hepatic steatosis via decreased triglyceride synthesis not by insulin resistance

AIM: To evaluate the effects of osthol on intrahepatic fat synthesis, β-oxidation, inflammation, and insulin resistance by multifaceted ***: Sprague-Dawley rats(n = 30) were randomly divided into control, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD), and osthol groups. NAFLD and osthol groups were fed with a high-fat diet for 14 wk. After 8 wk of the high-fat diet, the osthol group also received osthol 20 mg/kg orally 5 times/wk. To assess the insulin resistance, oral glucose tolerance was performed at the end of 14 wk. Immunohistochemical(4-HNE, F4/80) and hematoxylin and eosin(HE) staining wereperformed on liver tissue extracts after animal sacrifice at 14 wk. SREBP1 c, FAS, SCD-1, PPAR-α, CROT, MCP-1, IRS-1, and IRS-2 mRNA expressions were assessed with reverse transcription-polymerase chain ***: HE staining revealed that, compared with the NAFLD group, the osthol group showed significantly decreased intrahepatic fat content(39.4% vs 21.0%; P = 0.021). SREBP1 c expression in the NAFLD group increased compared to controls(P = 0.0001), while osthol treatment decreased SREBP1 c expression compared with the NAFLD group(P = 0.0059). In the osthol group, intrahepatic FAS and SCD-1, which act downstream of SREBP1 c, decreased significantly compared with the NAFLD group. Moreover, PPAR-α expression in the osthol group was also significantly higher than in the NAFLD group(P = 0.0147).CONCLUSION: Osthol treatment attenuated liver steatosis by decreasing de novo liver triglyceride synthesis and had nominal effects on insulin resistance and liver inflammation.

Objective:To investigate the possible risk factors among heart patients of karak ***:Different questions were asked from the respondents regarding their educational level,stress taking,smoking,mode of medication and diabetic history.A total of 72 heart patients were included in this study with the confirmed medical history of myocardial disorder/heart attack either once or ***:It was revealed in this study that a high prevalence of heart attack was observed in respondents at secondary level of education i.e.73.33%.This was followed by the respondents at primary level of education having 63.64%heart patients and then respondents at postgraduate educational level having 61.11%heart *** number of heart patients were found at graduate group i.e.27.78%heart *** study revealed that stress takers were at a higher risk of heart attack,while nonstress takers were comparatively healthier than stress *** 83.33%stress taker respondents were heart patients,while 76.67%healthy respondents were nonstress *** study also revealed that smoking was a leading cause of cardiovascular diseases as 88.10%heart patients were either occasional smokers or chain smokers,while 66.67%nonsmokers were healthy with no symptoms of heart ***-medication was found an elevated cause of heart diseases as 76.19%heart patients had a history of ***:This practice was found low in healthy respondents where only 23.81%respondents had self-medication in their past *** was found the associated disease with the heart patients.
