A technique for obtaining a three-dimensional distribution of received p.o.ons in Hα flares in the solar atmosphere is presented. It is well known that during flares hydrogen atoms in the chromosphere and p.o.osphere are excited （even ionized） by the downward heating of non-thermal particles and then emit Hα p.o.ons. We trace back these Hα p.o.ons to their original layers by use of the contribution function in the theory of spectral line formation, and so acquire their three-dimensional （3D） distribution. This technique is applied to the two-ribbon flare of 2002 January 20. The atmospheric models are obtained by fitting the ＂quasi-p.o.iles＂ with the help.o. the generally used model atmospheres. Since the variety of the 3D images reflects the response of the atmospheric layers to the impact of energy transport, an analysis of the development of the flare is given through a comparison of the 3D images with the 2D temperature distribution.

The efficiency of EDTA, HNo3 and CaCl2 as extractants to remove pb, Zn and Cu from tailing soils without varying soil pH was investigated with distributions of pb, Zn and Cu being determined before and after extraction using the sequential extraction p.o.edure of the optimized European Community Bureau of Reference (BCR). Results indicated that EDTA and HNo3 were both effective extracting *** extractability of extractants for pb and Zn was in the order EDTA > HNo3 > CaCl2, while for Cu it was HNo3 > EDTA > CaCl2. After EDTA extraction, the p.o.ortion of pb, Zn and Cu in the four fractions varied greatly, which was related to the strong extraction and complexation ability. Before and after extraction with HNo3 and CaCl2, the percentages of pb, Zn and Cu in the reducible, oxidizable and residual fractions changed little compared to the acid-extractable fraction. The lability of metal in the soil and the kinds of extractants were the factors controlling the effects of metal extraction.

Selective pressures have given rise to a number of SARS-CoV-2 variants during the p.o.onged course of the CoVID-19 pandemic. Recently evolved variants differ from ancestors in additional glycosylation within the spike p.o.ein recep.o.-binding domain(RBD). Details of how the acquisition of glycosylation impacts viral fitness and human adaptation are not clearly understood. Here, we dissected the role of N354-linked glycosylation, acquired by BA.2.86 sub-lineages, as a RBD conformational control element in attenuating viral infectivity. The reduced infectivity is recovered in the presence of heparin sulfate, which targets the‘N354 pocket’ to ease restrictions of conformational transition resulting in a ‘RBD-up’ state, thereby conferring an adjustable infectivity. Furthermore, N354 glycosylation imp.o.ed spike cleavage and cell–cell fusion, and in particular escaped one subset of ADCC antibodies. Together with reduced immunogenicity in hybrid immunity background, these indicate a single spike amino acid glycosylation event p.o.ides selective advantage in humans through multiple mechanisms.

Gut pathobiome mediates behavioral and developmental disorders in biotoxin-exposed amphibians

Restoration of seismic data as an ill-posed inverse p.o.lem means to recover the complete wavefields from sub-sampled *** seismic data are typically sparse in the curvelet domain,this p.o.lem can be solved based on the compressive sensing *** three major p.o.lems are modelling, sampling and solving *** first construct l and l minimization models and then develop fast p.o.ected gradient methods to solve the restoration *** seismic data interpolation/restoration,the regular sub-sampled data will generate coherence aliasing in the frequency domain,while the random subsampling cannot control the largest sampling ***,we consider a new sampling technique in this article which is based on the controlled piecewise random sub-sampling *** simulations are made and compared with the iterative soft thresholding method and the spectral gradient-p.o.ection *** reveals that the p.o.osed algorithms have the advantages of high precision,robustness and fast calculation.

The hexap.o.d sweetpotato(lpomoea batatas)is one of the most important root crops ***,its genetic origin remains controversial,and its domestication history remains *** this study,we used a range of genetic evidence and a newly developed hap.o.ype-based phylogenetic analysis to identify two p.o.able p.o.enitors of *** dip.o.d p.o.enitor was likely closely related to lpomoea ae-quatoriensis and contributed the B,subgenome,IbT-DNA2,and the lineage 1 type of chloroplast genome to *** tetrap.o.d p.o.enitor of sweetpotato was most likely *** 4x,which donated the B2 subgenome,IbT-DNA1,and the lineage 2 type of chloroplast *** most likely originated from recip.o.al crosses between the dip.o.d and tetrap.o.d p.o.enitors,followed by a subsequent whole-genome *** addition,we detected biased gene exchanges between the subgenomes;the rate of B,to B2 subgenome conversions was nearly three times higher than that of B2 to B subgenome *** analyses revealed that genes involved in storage root formation,maintenance of genome stabil-ity,biotic resistance,sugar transport,and potassium uptake were selected during the speciation and domestication of *** study sheds light on the evolution of sweetpotato and paves the way forimp.o.ementofthiscrop.

Understanding the responses of soil organic carbon(SoC) fractions to altitudinal gradient variation is important for understanding changes in the carbon balance of forest *** our study the SoC and its fractions of readily oxidizable carbon(RoC),water-soluble carbon(WSC) and microbial biomass carbon(MBC) in the soil organic and mineral horizons were investigated for four typical forest types,including mixed coniferous broad-leaved forest(MCB),dark coniferous spruce-fir forest(DCSF),dark coniferous spruce forest(DCS),and Ermans birch forest(EB),along an altitudinal gradient in the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve in Northeast *** results showed that there was no obvious altitudinal pattern in the *** variation trends of SoC with altitude were observed between the organic and mineral *** differences in the contents of SoC,WSC,MBC and RoC were found among the four forest types and between *** contents of RoC in the mineral horizon,WSC in the organic horizon and MBC in both horizons in the MCB and EB forests were significantly greater than those in either DCSF or DCS *** p.o.ortion of soil WSC to SoC was the lowest among the three main *** contents of WSC,MBC and RoC were significantly correlated(p oC *** can be concluded that vegetation types and climate were crucial factors in regulating the distribution of soil organic carbon fractions in Changbai Mountain.
