18F-prostate specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computerized tomography for lymph node staging in medium/high risk prostate cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Background: Lymph node staging of prostate cancer (PCa) is important for planning and monitoring of treatment.18F-prostate specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computerized tomography (18F-PSMA PET/CT) has several advantages over68Ga-PSMA PET/CT, but its diagnostic value requires further investigation. This meta-analysis focused on establishing the diagnostic utility of18F-PSMA PET/CT for lymph node staging in medium/high-risk PCa.Methods: We searched the EMBASE, PubMed, Cochrane library, and Web of Science databases from inception to October 1, 2022. Prostate cancer,18F, lymph node, PSMA, and PET/CT were used as search terms and the language was limited to English. We additionally performed a manual search using the reference lists of key articles. Patients and study characteristics were extracted and the QUADAS-2 tool was employed to evaluate the quality of included studies. Sensitivity, specificity, the positive and negative likelihood ratio (PLR and NLR), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), area under the curve (AUC), and 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to evaluate the diagnostic value of18F-PSMA PET/CT. Stata 17 software was employed for calculation and statistical analyses.Results: A total of eight diagnostic tests including 734 individual samples and 6346 lymph nodes were included in this meta-analysis. At the patient level, the results of each consolidated summary were as follows: sensitivity of 0.57 (95% CI 0.39-0.73), specificity of 0.95 (95% CI 0.92-0.97), PLR of 11.2 (95% CI 6.6-19.0), NLR of 0.46 (95% CI 0.31-0.68), DOR of 25 (95% CI 11-54), and AUC of 0.94 (95% CI 0.92-0.96). At the lesion level, the results of each consolidated summary were as follows: sensitivity of 0.40 (95% CI 0.21-0.62), specificity of 0.99 (95% CI 0.95-1.00), PLR of 40.0 (95% CI 9.1-176.3), NLR of 0.61 (95% CI 0.42-0.87), DOR of 66 (95% CI 14-311), and AUC of 0.86 (95% CI 0.83-0.89).Conclusions: 18F-PSMA PET/CT showed moderate sensitivity but high specificity in lymph node staging of medium/high-risk PCa. How to effectively evaluate the firing precision of weapon equipment at low cost is one of the core contents of improving the test level of weapon system.A new method to evaluate the firing precision of the MLRS considering the credibility of simulation system based on Bayesian theory is proposed in this paper.First of all,a comprehensive index system for the credibility of the simulation system of the firing precision of the MLRS is constructed combined with the group analytic hierarchy process.A modified method for determining the comprehensive weight of the index is established to improve the rationality of the index weight coefficients.The Bayesian posterior estimation formula of firing precision considering prior information is derived in the form of mixed prior distribution,and the rationality of prior information used in estimation model is discussed quantitatively.With the simulation tests,the different evaluation methods are compared to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Finally,the experimental results show that the effectiveness of estimation method for firing precision is improved by more than 25%.

How can technology and efficiency alleviate the dilemma of economic growth and carbon emissions in China's industrial economy? A metafrontier decoupling decomposition analysis

This paper attempts to explore the decoupling relationship and its drivers between industrial economic increase and energy-related CO_(2) emissions(ICE). Firstly, the decoupling relationship was evaluated by Tapio index. Then, based on the DEA meta-frontier theory framework which taking into account the regional and industrial heterogeneity and index decomposition method, the driving factors of decoupling process were explored mainly from the view of technology and efficiency. The results show that during2000-2019, weak decoupling was the primary state. Investment scale expansion was the largest reason hindering decoupling process of industrial increase from ICE. Both energy saving and production technology achieved significant progress, which facilitated the decoupling process. Simultaneously, the energy technology gap and production technology gap among regions have been narrowed, and played a role in promoting decoupling process. On the contrary, both scale economy efficiency and pure technical efficiency have inhibiting effects on decoupling process. The former indicates that the scale economy of China's industry was not conducive to improve energy efficiency and production efficiency, while the latter indicates that resource misallocation problem may exist in both energy market and product market.

Photocatalytic transformation of selected biomass derivatives to value added chemicals and hydrogen fuel

Biomass is the most bountiful renewable carbon resource on earth.Photocatalytic transformation is a promising method to utilize biomass to obtain high-value-added chemicals and it has more obvious advantages compared with thermochemical and biological processes due to the milder operational conditions,fewer reagents and equipment.Semiconductor material is one of the most common kinds of heterogeneous biomass photocatalysts,which has the advantages of high selectivity,stable catalytic performance,long activation time,and low cost.In this paper,the significant research progress on the photocatalytic transformation of biomass with semiconductor materials to produce high-value-added chemicals is reviewed,and the three most typical semiconductor photocatalysts(TiO_(2),Cd S,and g-C_(3)N_(4))are detailed.The photocatalytic mechanism and photocatalytic system optimization including structural modification,metal co-catalyst loading,and introduction of heterojunction are presented.Besides,the main problems,the development direction and trend of semiconductor materials in photocatalytic transformations of biomass in the future are prospected,which provide guidance and inspiration for the further development of semiconductor photocatalysts and make contributions to the progress in efficient utilization of biomass.

Nanofluidic memristor based on the elastic deformation of nanopores with nanoparticle adsorption

The memristor is the building block of neuromorphic computing. We report a new type of nanofluidic memristor based on the principle of elastic strain on polymer nanopores. With nanoparticles absorbed at the wall of a single conical polymer nanopore, we find a pinched hysteresis of the current within a scanning frequency range of 0.01–0.1 Hz, switching to a diode below 0.01 Hz and a resistor above 0.1 Hz. We attribute the current hysteresis to the elastic strain at the tip side of the nanopore, caused by electrical force on the particles adsorbed at the inner wall surface. Our simulation and analytical equations match well with experimental results, with a phase diagram for predicting the system transitions. We demonstrate the plasticity of our nanofluidic memristor to be similar to a biological synapse. Our findings pave a new way for ionic neuromorphic computing using nanofluidic memristors.

Optimized Mask-RCNN model for particle chain segmentation based on improved online ferrograph sensor

Ferrograph-based wear debris analysis(WDA)provides significant information for wear fault analysis of mechanical equipment.After decades of offline application,this conventional technology is being driven by the online ferrograph sensor for real-time wear state monitoring.However,online ferrography has been greatly limited by the low imaging quality and segmentation accuracy of particle chains when analyzing degraded lubricant oils in practical applications.To address this issue,an integrated optimization method is developed that focuses on two aspects:the structural re-design of the online ferrograph sensor and the intelligent segmentation of particle chains.For enhancing the imaging quality of wear particles,the magnetic pole of the online ferrograph sensor is optimized to enable the imaging system directly observe wear particles without penetrating oils.Furthermore,a light source simulation model is established based on the light intensity distribution theory,and the LED installation parameters are determined for particle illumination uniformity in the online ferrograph sensor.On this basis,a Mask-RCNN-based segmentation model of particle chains is constructed by specifically establishing the region of interest(ROI)generation layer and the ROI align layer for the irregular particle morphology.With these measures,a new online ferrograph sensor is designed to enhance the image acquisition and information extraction of wear particles.For verification,the developed sensor is tested to collect particle images from different degraded oils,and the images are further handled with the Mask-RCNN-based model for particle feature extraction.Experimental results reveal that the optimized online ferrography can capture clear particle images even in highly-degraded lubricant oils,and the illumination uniformity reaches 90%in its imaging field.Most importantly,the statistical accuracy of wear particles has been improved from 67.2%to 94.1%.

Empirically standardised peak luminosity of Type Ia supernovae(SNe Ia)as a standard candle has become one of the most powerful probes of the expansion history of the late universe.Although the existence of such a consistent peak luminosity could be interpreted as a consequence of the fixed critical Chandrasekhar mass at which a carbon-oxygen white dwarf explodes,there is growing evidence for a more complex environmental dependence to the SN Ia luminosity beyond the current understanding of the SN Ia physics.

Structural optimization design of semi-rigid base asphalt pavement using modulus matching criterion and multi-indicator range analysis

Damage to semi-rigid base asphalt pavement is related to improper matching of the pavement structure moduli.This study mainly focused on the modulus matching of structural layers and the development of a pavement structure optimization method.First,the modulus loss of existing pavement structures was analysed,and a three-dimensional finite element model was established based on the existing pavement.Second,the influence of the modulus of each structural layer on the mechanical response indicators and fatigue life was analysed.Based on the results,a pavement structure design method using the smoothness of the stress-strain curve as the modulus matching criterion of the structural layers was proposed.And it was found that a strain convex point was present and that the stress mutation between the structural layers was significant when the modulus matching of the pavement structure was reasonable.Further,the evaluation indicators were divided into two groups,namely,mechanical indicators and fatigue life indicators.And it was proposed an optimized pavement structure design method based on modulus matching and multi-indicator range analysis.Finally,the optimal modulus combination of pavement structure was determined by this method.The research systematically studied the influence of the modulus of each structural layer on the mechanical response and fatigue life of the pavement,and proposed the concept and specific executive criteria of modulus matching for the first time.Meanwhile,it also provided an effective optimization method for pavement structure design.

The genome-wide meiotic recombination landscape in ciliates and its implications for crossover regulation and genome evolution

Meiotic recombination is essential for sexual reproduction and its regulation has been extensively studied in many taxa.However,genome-wide recombination landscape has not been reported in ciliates and it remains unknown how it is affected by the unique features of ciliates:the synaptonemal complex(SC)-independent meiosis and the nuclear dimorphism.Here,we show the recombination landscape in the model ciliate Tetrahymena thermophila by analyzing single-nucleotide polymorphism datasets from 38 hybrid progeny.We detect 1021 crossover(CO)events(35.8 per meiosis),corresponding to an overall CO rate of 9.9 cM/Mb.However,gene conversion by non-crossover is rare(1.03 per meiosis)and not biased towards G or C alleles.Consistent with the reported roles of SC in CO interference,we find no obvious sign of CO interference.CO tends to occur within germ-soma common genomic regions and many of the 44 identified CO hotspots localize at the centromeric or subtelomeric regions.Gene ontology analyses show that CO hotspots are strongly associated with genes responding to environmental changes.We discuss these results with respect to how nuclear dimorphism has potentially driven the formation of the observed recombination landscape to facilitate environmental adaptation and the sharing of machinery among meiotic and somatic recombination.

Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common and deadly cancers worldwide.Early detection offers the best chance for curative treatment and reducing its mortality.However,the optimal population-based early screening for GC remains unmet.Aberrant DNA methylation occurs in the early stage of GC,exhibiting cancer-specific genetic and epigenetic changes,and can be detected in the media such as blood,gastric juice,and feces,constituting a valuable biomarker for cancer early detection.Furthermore,DNA methylation is a stable epigenetic alteration,and many innovative methods have been developed to quantify it rapidly and accurately.Nonetheless,large-scale clinical validation of DNA methylation serving as tumor biomarkers is still lacking,precluding their implementation in clinical practice.In conclusion,after a critical analysis of the recent existing literature,we summarized the evolving roles of DNA methylation during GC occurrence,expounded the newly discovered noninvasive DNA methylation biomarkers for early detection of GC,and discussed its challenges and prospects in clinical applications.
