GAPIT Version 3: Boosting Power and Accuracy for Genomic Association and Prediction

Genome-wide association study(GWAS)and genomic prediction/selection(GP/GS)are the two essential enterprises in genomic *** to the great magnitude and complexity of genomic and phenotypic data,analytical methods and their associated software packages are frequently *** is a widely-used genomic association and prediction integrated tool as an R *** first version was released to the public in 2012 with the implementation of the general linear model(GLM),mixed linear model(MLM),compressed MLM(CMLM),and genomic best linear unbiased prediction(g BLUP).The second version was released in 2016 with several new implementations,including enriched CMLM(ECMLM)and settlement of MLMs under progressively exclusive relationship(SUPER).All the GWAS methods are based on the single-locus *** the first time,in the current release of GAPIT,version 3 implemented three multi-locus test methods,including multiple loci mixed model(MLMM),fixed and random model circulating probability unification(Farm CPU),and Bayesian-information and linkage-disequilibrium iteratively nested keyway(BLINK).Additionally,two GP/GS methods were implemented based on CMLM(named compressed BLUP;c BLUP)and SUPER(named SUPER BLUP;s BLUP).These new implementations not only boost statistical power for GWAS and prediction accuracy for GP/GS,but also improve computing speed and increase the capacity to analyze big genomic ***,we document the current upgrade of GAPIT by describing the selection of the recently developed methods,their implementations,and potential *** documents,including source code,user manual,demo data,and tutorials,are freely available at the GAPIT website(http://***/GAPIT).

A strategy for highly dispersed Mo2C/MoN hybrid nitrogen- doped graphene via ion-exchange resin synthesis for efficient electrocatalytic hydrogen reduction

Molybdenum carbide/molybdenum nitride hybrid N-doped graphene （abbreviated as Mo2C/MoN/NG）, as an efficient electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）, was synthesized via simple ion-exchange resin synthesis followed by a two-step annealing process, which increased the dispersion degree of the electrocatalyst＇s active sites on the support skeleton and simplified the synthetic conditions. Additionally, N-doped graphene （NG） enhanced the electron transfer and reduced the inner resistance. The material has a graphene-like morphology and highly dispersed Mo2C/MoN nanoparticles about 2 nm in diameter on the NG. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy revealed that Mo2C/MoN/NG consisted of Mo2C and MoN composited together. Finally, Mo2C/MoN/NG exhibited remarkable performance as an electrocatalyst for the HER with a small overpotential of 78.82 mV and a small Tafel slope of 39.3 ***^-1 in a 0.5 mol.L-1 H2SO4 solution. Its activity was approximately 30% lower than that of 20% Pt/C and 60% higher than that of NG. Also, it exhibited a low onset overpotential of 24.82 mV, which is similar to the theoretical HER potential. Our work provides a foundation for advanced HER applications of molybdenum compounds.

A 500-600 MHz GaN power amplifier with RC-LC stability network

The GaAs-based TF-IPD fabrication process and equivalent lumped element circuit are utilized to re- duce the circuit size for double-section Wilkinson power divider. Ultimately the dimension of the proposed S-band power divider is reduced to 1.03 × 0.98 mm2. Its measured results show an operating fractional bandwidth of 54%, and return losses and isolation of greater than 20 dB. In addition the excess insertion loss is less than 1.1 dB. More- over the good features contain amplitude and phase equilibrium with the values of better than 0.03 dB and 1.5° separately. This miniaturized power divider could be widely used in RF/microwave circuit systems.

Quantum-safe cryptography:crossroads of coding theory and cryptography

We present an overview of quantum-safe cryptography(QSC) with a focus on post-quantum cryptography(PQC) and information-theoretic security. From a cryptographic point of view, lattice and code-based schemes are among the most promising PQC solutions. Both approaches are based on the hardness of decoding problems of linear codes with different metrics. From an information-theoretic point of view, lattices and linear codes can be constructed to achieve certain secrecy quantities for wiretap channels as is intrinsically classical-and quantum-safe. Historically, coding theory and cryptography are intimately connected since Shannon’s pioneering studies but have somehow diverged later. QSC offers an opportunity to rebuild the synergy of the two areas, hopefully leading to further development beyond the NIST PQC standardization process. In this paper, we provide a survey of lattice and code designs that are believed to be quantum-safe in the area of cryptography or coding theory. The interplay and similarities between the two areas are discussed. We also conclude our understandings and prospects of future research after NIST PQC standardisation.

Centralized training of deep learning models poses privacy risks that hinder their *** learning(FL)has emerged as a solution to address these risks,allowing multiple clients to train deep learning models collaborativelywithout sharing ***,FL is vulnerable to the impact of heterogeneous distributed data,which weakens convergence stability and suboptimal performance of the trained model on local *** is due to the discarding of the old local model at each round of training,which results in the loss of personalized information in the model critical for maintaining model accuracy and ensuring *** this paper,we propose FedTC,a personalized federated learning method with two classifiers that can retain personalized information in the local model and improve the model’s performance on local *** divides the model into two parts,namely,the extractor and the classifier,where the classifier is the last layer of the model,and the extractor consists of other *** classifier in the local model is always retained to ensure that the personalized information is not *** receiving the global model,the local extractor is overwritten by the globalmodel’s extractor,and the classifier of the globalmodel serves as anadditional classifier of the localmodel toguide local *** FedTCintroduces a two-classifier training strategy to coordinate the two classifiers for local model *** results on Cifar10 and Cifar100 datasets demonstrate that FedTC performs better on heterogeneous data than current studies,such as FedAvg,FedPer,and local training,achieving a maximum improvement of 27.95%in model classification test accuracy compared to FedAvg.

Herb induced liver injury by Xianling Gubao Tablets: A case assessed for causality using updated RUCAM and integrated evidence chain

Objective:A typical case of Xianling Gubao(XLGB)Tablets-induced liver injury was systematically studied in the clinic and the ***:A patient with herb-induced liver injury(HILI)and a history of taking XLGB Tablets before disease onset was engaged as the study subject,and the case was diagnosed according to the updated Roussel Uclaf Causality Assessment Method(RUCAM)and the integrated evidence chain(iEC)method recommended by the Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Herb-induced Liver Injury(HILI Guidelines).Results:Clinical history,biochemical indexes and imaging tests were used to exclude the influence of fundamental diseases and confusing liver diseases such as viral,alcoholic and autoimmune liver diseases on the *** on an investigation of the patient’s medication history,she was suspected to have HILI caused by XLGB Tablets,as the patient was only taking an oral preparation of XLGB Tablets,and the influence of other drugs on the diagnosis was *** patient with alanine aminotransferase(ALT)3 upper limit of normal(ULN)and a calculated R of 6 was diagnosed with possible acute drug-induced hepatocellular *** relationship was considered“highly probable”(score of 9)using the updated RUCAM of ***,the fingerprint similarity between the preparation taken by the patient and a commercially available preparation was 0.99,suggesting that the patient was consuming XLGB Tablets rather than another ***-MS technology and the Agilent Fake TCM-Drugs database were used to investigate the drug,and no chemical additions were *** of the drug for pesticide residues,heavy metals,aflatoxins and other exogenous substances indicated compliance with the content limits of the Chinese ***:In summary,the final diagnosis of XLGB-induced liver injury reached the clinical diagnosis of HILI and was acute severe hepatocellular injury type by the updated RUCAM and ***,this study provides scientif

Asari Radix et Rhizoma consumption lacks relevance for hepatocellular carcinoma in patients:A retrospective cohort study

Objective:Although some studies have linked Asari Radix et Rhizoma(Asari Radix)administration to hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),few studies have examined the association between the development of HCC and use of Asari Radix among patients in China's *** study aimed to evaluate the realworld association between Asari Radix and HCC in patients to strengthen the understanding of Asari Radix ***:A retrospective cohort study among hepatitis B virus(HBV)-monoinfected patients and nonHBV-monoinfected patients were *** over 18 years of age were eligible for *** records of inpatients and outpatients were inquired to distinguish Asari Radix users and *** risk of developing HCC among Asari Radix users and nonusers in the HBV cohort and the non-HBV cohort was ***:There were 49500 HBV and 133148 non-HBV patients involved in the two *** HBV patients(2901 users;46599 nonusers),the prevalence of HCC in Asari Radix users was lower than that in nonusers(145.70 vs.265.43 per 105).Among non-HBV patients(5042 users;128106 nonusers),the prevalence of HCC in Asari Radix users was lower than that in nonusers(81.62 vs.134.11 per 105).None of the hazard ratios(HRs)of Asari Radix exposure ranging from 1 g to 200 g in the two cohorts showed correlation between Asari Radix exposure and ***:An obvious irrelevancy was found between the consumption of Asari Radix and HCC development both in patients with and in those without HBV *** of Asari Radix under 200 g appears safe in terms of HCC risk in the Chinese population;further prospective studies are needed to confirm our results.

Cardamonin from a medicinal herb protects against LPS-induced septic shock by suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome

Aberrant activation of NLRP3 inflammasome has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diverse inflammation-related diseases, and pharmacological molecules targeting NLRP3 inflammasome are of considerable value to identifying potential therapeutic interventions. Cardamonin(CDN), the major active ingredient of the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Alpinia katsumadai, has exerted an excellent anti-inflammatory activity, but the mechanism underlying this role is not fully understood. Here, we show that CDN blocks canonical and noncanonical NLRP3 inflammasome activation triggered by multiple stimuli. Moreover, the suppression of CDN on inflammasome activation is specific to NLRP3, not to NLRC4 or AIM2 inflammasome. Besides, the inhibitory effect is not dependent on the expression of NF-κB-mediated inflammasome precursor proteins. We also demonstrate that CDN suppresses the NLRP3 inflammasome through blocking ASC oligomerization and speckle formation in a dose-dependent ***, CDN improves the survival of mice suffering from lethal septic shock and attenuates IL-1βproduction induced by LPS in vivo, which is shown to be NLRP3 dependent. In conclusion, our results identify CDN as a broad-spectrum and specific inhibitor of NLRP3 inflammasome and a candidate therapeutic drug for treating NLRP3 inflammasome-driven diseases.

Epimedii Folium(EF)combined with Psoraleae Fructus(PF)is a common modern preparation,but liver injury caused by Chinese patent medicine preparations containing EF and PF has been frequently reported in recent *** pills(ZGW),which contain EF and PF,could induce immune idiosyncratic liver injury according to clinical case reports and a nonhepatotoxic dose of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)*** present study evaluated the liver injury induced by EF or PF alone or in combination and investigated the related mechanism by using the LPS *** function indexes and pathological results showed that either EF or PF alone or in combination led to liver injury in normal rats;however,EF or PF alone could lead to liver injury in LPS-treated ***,EF combined with PF could induce a greater degree of injury than that caused by EF or PF alone in LPS-treated ***,EF or PF alone or in combination enhanced the LPS-stimulated inflammatory cytokine production,implying that IL-1β,which is processed and released by activating the NLRP3 inflammasome,is a specific indicator of EF-induced immune idiosyncratic ***,EF may induce liver injury through enhancing the LPS-mediated proinflammatory cytokine production and activating the NLRP3 *** addition,the metabolomics analysis results showed that PF affected more metabolites in glycerophospholipid and sphingolipid metabolic pathways compared with EF in LPS model,suggesting that PF increased the responsiveness of the liver to LPS or other inflammatory mediators via modulation of multiple metabolic ***,EF and PF combination indicates traditional Chinese medicine incompatibility,considering that it induces idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity under immunological stress conditions.
