The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main *** of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8b solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator *** this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8b solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/*** ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are *** large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation *** m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith ***,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8b solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.

JUNO is a multi-purpose neutrino observatory under construction in the south of *** publication presents new sensitivity estimates for the measurement of the △m_(31)^(2),△m_(21)^(2),sin^(2)θ_(12),and sin^(2)θ_(13) oscillation parameters using reactor antineutrinos,which is one of the primary physics goals of the *** sensitivities are obtained using the best knowledge available to date on the location and overburden of the experimental site,the nuclear reactors in the surrounding area and beyond,the detector response uncertainties,and the reactor antineutrino spectral shape constraints expected from the TAO satellite *** is found that the △m_(21)^(2) and sin^(2)θ_(12) oscillation parameters will be determined to 0.5%precision or better in six years of data *** the same period,the △m_(31)^(2) parameter will be determined to about 0.2%precision for each mass ordering *** new precision represents approximately an order of magnitude improvement over existing constraints for these three parameters.

大陆地壳如何形成是国际学术界长期关注并正在持续攻关的一个重大基础科学问题。活动陆缘弧的岩浆成因和密度分选过程是理解大陆地壳形成机制和演化过程的关键。北美白垩纪cordilleran大陆边缘弧的形成可能经历了与底侵幔源岩浆有关的下地壳部分熔融和岩浆混合,或幔源初始玄武质岩浆的两阶段成分分异过程,以花岗质成分为主的北美内华达地区垂向地壳成分剖面结构可能与榴辉岩相残留体或堆晶岩的拆沉作用密切相关。目前并不清楚亚洲大陆南部以约200 Ma和约90 Ma两个时间断面为代表的中生代冈底斯弧,为何出现大量角闪石岩并具有玄武安山质的平均成分。探究中生代冈底斯弧的岩浆成因、地壳垂向成分结构和地壳形成机制可能有助于或多或少地解决这一问题。

linked to major volcanic eruptions around 536 and 540 cE, the onset of the Late Antique little Ice Age has been described as the coldest period of the past two millennia. The exact timing and spatial extent of this exceptional cold phase are, however, still under debate because of the limited resolution and geographical distribution of the available proxy archives. Here, we use 106 wood anatomical thin sections from 23forest sites and 20 tree species in both hemispheres to search for cell-level fingerprints of ephemeral summer cooling between 530 and 550 cE. After cross-dating and double-staining, we identified 89blue Rings(lack of cell wall lignification), nine Frost Rings(cell deformation and collapse), and 93light Rings(reduced cell wall thickening) in the Northern Hemisphere. Our network reveals evidence for the strongest temperature depression between mid-July and early-August 536 cE across North America and Eurasia, whereas more localised cold spells occurred in the summers of 532, 540–43, and548 cE. The lack of anatomical signatures in the austral trees suggests limited incursion of stratospheric volcanic aerosol into the southern Hemisphere extra-tropics, that any forcing was mitigated by atmosphere-ocean dynamical responses and/or concentrated outside the growing season, or a combination of factors. Our findings demonstrate the advantage of wood anatomical investigations over traditional dendrochronological measurements, provide a benchmark for earth system models, support cross-disciplinary studies into the entanglements of climate and history, and question the relevance of global climate averages.

自1920年以来,在中国黄土高原及邻近地区的黄土及河湖相地层分布区发现了大量的古人类活动遗迹地点,其中包括著名的泥河湾、水洞沟、萨拉乌苏、丁村、大荔、匼河-西侯度、庄浪、庆阳、三门峡、东秦岭地区以及蓝田地区等.在陕西蓝田的最新研究进展是运用第四纪地质学与古人类学和旧石器考古学交叉学科的综合研究方法,以黄土-古土壤序列和高分辨率磁性地层年代框架为依据,发现了公王岭遗址黄土地层的强烈侵蚀和多组地层缺失,确定了直立人头盖骨与伴生的古动物化石所埋藏的地层不是前人原确定的粉砂质黄土L15中部(年代为1.15 Ma),而是位于一个大侵蚀面之下的S22~S23古土壤混合层(年代为1.63 Ma).同时,在蓝田上陈一带发现了新的出露良好的连续黄土-古土壤剖面(L5~L28),并在早更新世S15~L28层段的17层黄土或古土壤层位中发现了原地埋藏的数量不等的旧石器,其年代为1.26~2.12 Ma.研究结果使蓝田地区成为迄今所知非洲以外最古老的人类活动地区之一,这不仅在人类起源和演化方面提出了新的科学思考,并拓展了'黄土石器工业'和'黄土地质考古带'的研究方向,提出了中国黄土高原高分辨率黄土-古土壤序列与多时期古人类活动序列关联研究的新设想.

风云3c卫星(简称FY-3c)测量的低地球轨道(Low earth Orbit,简称LEO)高能粒子(电子、质子和重离子)通量,是空间环境监测预警业务的重要自主数据来源.深入分析风云3c卫星测量的不同种类高能电子的分布特征和变化规律,对辐射带研究和空间天气预报具有重要意义.本文使用FY-3c测量的空间粒子数据,系统分析了2015年3月17日强磁暴期间辐射带捕获、准捕获和沉降电子的演化特征及其主导性物理机制.结果表明,在磁暴主相,外辐射带电子通量(E2:0.35~0.65 MeV,E3:0.65~1.2 MeV)出现快速下降,达到两个数量级,E1能级(E1:0.15~0.35MeV)电子通量在L4的区域出现明显下降.在磁暴恢复相,由于合声波(chorus waves)先加速低能段电子,E1能段电子通量最先(小于五小时)开始增加,在磁暴结束时覆盖2cm^(-2)·sr^(-1)·s^(-1).电子能段越高通量增长得越慢(E2:十小时内;E3:一天内),最终覆盖的空间范围更小(E2:2c测量的低轨道粒子数据可以为分析辐射带中粒子损失和加速过程中主导的物理机制提供关键信息,是空间辐射环境建模和预测预报的有力支撑.

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)is a large liquid scintillator detector designed to explore many topics in fundamental *** this study,the potential of searching for proton decay in the p→νK^(+)mode with JUNO is *** kaon and its decay particles feature a clear three-fold coincidence signature that results in a high efficiency for ***,the excellent energy resolution of JUNO permits suppression of the sizable background caused by other delayed *** on these advantages,the detection efficiency for the proton decay via p→νK^(+)is 36.9%±4.9%with a background level of 0.2±0.05(syst)±0.2(stat)events after 10 years of data *** estimated sensitivity based on 200 kton-years of exposure is 9.6×1033 years,which is competitive with the current best limits on the proton lifetime in this channel and complements the use of different detection technologies.
