Dear Editor,Immune checkpoint therapies manipulating the immune system to eliminate tumor cells have shown remarkable clinical efficacy in treating various ***47,an emerging efficient immune checkpoint,is crucial for cancer cells to evade macrophagemediated phagocytosis by interaction with signal-regulatory proteinα(SIRPα).Antibodies blocking the CD47/SIRPαinteraction have been effective to promote macrophage-mediated phagocytosis in various types of cancer in mice and ***47 is not only highly expressed in tumor cells,but also normal cells,such as red blood cells(RBCs).Thus,during clinical trials involving cancer patients,anti-CD47 antibodies may promote the macrophagesmediated phagocytosis of RBCs,ultimately inducing undesirable anemia side *** contrast,small molecule inhibitors interrupting CD47/SIRPαaxis have shown potential to overcome the anemia,possibly due to their lower immunogenicity and shorter half-life compared to antibodies.1 Hence,developing the novel strategies,especially those without the anemia side effect,to intervene in CD47/SIRPαinteraction will benefit cancer immunotherapy.

Purpose – Straightness measurement of rail weld joint is of essential importance to railway maintenance. Dueto the lack of efficient measurement equipment, there has been limited in-depth research on rail weld joint with a5-m wavelength range, leaving a significant knowledge gap in this ***/methodology/approach – In this study, the authors used the well-established inertial referencemethod (IR-method), and the state-of-the-art multi-point chord reference method (MCR-method). Two methodshave been applied in different types of rail straightness measurement trollies, respectively. These instrumentswere tested in a high-speed rail section within a certain region of China. The test results were ultimatelyvalidated through using traditional straightedge and feeler gauge methods as reference data to evaluate the railweld joint straightness within the 5-m wavelength *** – The research reveals that IR-method and MCR-method produce reasonably similar measurementresults for wavelengths below 1 m. However, MCR-method outperforms IR-method in terms of accuracy forwavelengths exceeding 3 m. Furthermore, it was observed that IR-method, while operating at a slower speed,carries the risk of derailing and is incapable of detecting rail weld joints and low joints within the ***/value – The research compare two methods’ measurement effects in a longer wavelength rangeand demonstrate the superiority of MCR-method.

High fish predation pressure can trigger"induced defense"in Daphnia species,resulting in phenotypic plasticity in morphology,behavior,or life-history *** molecular mechanisms of defense morphogenesis(e.g.,the tail spine and helmet)in Daphnia remain *** the pres-ent study,the tail spine,helmet,and body of Daphnia galeata under fish and non-fish kairomones conditions were collected for transcriptome analysis.A total of 24 candidate genes related to the morphological defense of *** were identified,including 2 trypsin,one cuticle protein,1 C1qDC protein,and 2 ferritin *** function of the Dagcut gene(*** cuticle protein gene)in relation to tail spine morphology was assessed using RNA interference(RNAi).Compared with the EGFP(Enhanced green fluorescent protein)treatment,after RNAi,the expression levels of the Dagcut gene(*** cuticle protein gene)showed a significant ***,the tail spines of the offspring pro-duced by *** after RNAi of the Dagcut gene appeared curved during the *** whole-mount in situ hybridization,a clear signal site was detected on the tail spine of *** before RNAi which disappeared after *** results suggest that the Dagcut gene may play an important role in tail spine formation of ***,and will provide a theoretical basis for studying the molecular mechanisms of the morpho-logical plasticityin cladocera inthefuture.

BACKGROUND Deep learning provides an efficient automatic image recognition method for small bowel(SB)capsule endoscopy(CE)that can assist physicians in ***,the existing deep learning models present some unresolved *** To propose a novel and effective classification and detection model to automatically identify various SB lesions and their bleeding risks,and label the lesions accurately so as to enhance the diagnostic efficiency of physicians and the ability to identify high-risk bleeding *** The proposed model represents a two-stage method that combined image classification with object ***,we utilized the improved ResNet-50 classification model to classify endoscopic images into SB lesion images,normal SB mucosa images,and invalid ***,the improved YOLO-V5 detection model was utilized to detect the type of lesion and its risk of bleeding,and the location of the lesion was *** constructed training and testing sets and compared model-assisted reading with physician *** The accuracy of the model constructed in this study reached 98.96%,which was higher than the accuracy of other systems using only a single *** sensitivity,specificity,and accuracy of the model-assisted reading detection of all images were 99.17%,99.92%,and 99.86%,which were significantly higher than those of the endoscopists’*** image processing time of the model was 48 ms/image,and the image processing time of the physicians was 0.40±0.24 s/image(P<0.001).CONCLUSION The deep learning model of image classification combined with object detection exhibits a satisfactory diagnostic effect on a variety of SB lesions and their bleeding risks in CE images,which enhances the diagnostic efficiency of physicians and improves the ability of physicians to identify high-risk bleeding groups.

Gastric cancer(GC) ranks fifth in cancer incidence and fourth in cancer-related mortality worldwide. Reactive oxygen species(ROS) are highly oxidative oxygen-derived products that have crucial roles in cell signaling regulation and maintaining internal balance. ROS are closely associated with the occurrence, development, and treatment of GC. This review summarizes recent findings on the sources of ROS and the bidirectional regulatory effects on GC and discusses various treatment modalities for GC that are related to ROS induction. In addition, the regulation of ROS by natural small molecule compounds with the highest potential for development and applications in anti-GC research is summarized. The aim of the review is to accelerate the clinical application of modulating ROS levels as a therapeutic strategy for GC.

纤维素作为一种来源丰富的天然高分子材料,具有优异的生物相容性和可降解性,但其难溶特性限制了其应用。文中采用离子液体1-烯丙基-3-甲基咪唑氯化物(AmimCl)溶解纤维素(Cel),海藻酸钠(SA)与明胶(Gel)混合水溶液作为凝固浴进行纤维素再生,进一步通过浸泡氯化钙(CaCl_(2))溶液交联海藻酸钠,制备了一种透明、高强度的复合水凝胶。分别探究了纤维素浓度(3%,4%,5%,6%,7%和8%)及不同的海藻酸钠/明胶质量比(0:10,2:8,4:6,6:4,8:2和10:0)对水凝胶性能的影响。利用傅里叶变换红外光谱、扫描电子显微镜、X射线衍射仪、紫外可见分光光度计和万能材料试验机对水凝胶进行了表征。结果表明,水凝胶中各组分之间的氢键作用及海藻酸钠与Ca^(2+)之间的离子相互作用赋予水凝胶优异的力学性能,相比于纯水作为凝固浴制备的再生纤维素水凝胶,强度提高了26.36%。随着纤维素浓度的增加,水凝胶的结晶度和网络结构的致密性增加,水凝胶的力学性能显著提升。此外,海藻酸钠/明胶的比例也对水凝胶的力学性能有显著影响,当海藻酸钠与明胶质量比为6:4时,水凝胶力学性能最好,最高达到2.349 MPa。生物降解性分析表明,水凝胶具有良好的生物降解性,在食品包装和生物医药领域具有潜在应用价值。

Objective: The purpose of this research was to examine the potential anticancer properties of Xiao Tan San Jie Fang(XTSJF) and its potential mechanism of action against colorectal cancer. Materials and Methods: HCT116 cells were induced into HCT116 spheres in DMEM/F12 medium by treatment with epidermal growth factor + fibroblast growth factor + leukemia inhibitory factor + B27. The proliferation ability and stemness of HCT116 spheres was examined. Various concentrations of XTSJF were used to treat HCT116 spheres to observe the impact on proliferation, apoptosis, and expression of stem cell markers. Next, Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related factor proteins were detected. Results: The findings revealed that XTSJF suppressed cell growth and induced cell death in HCT116 cells in a dosage-dependent manner. Similarly, XTSJF promotes apoptosis, inhibits cell proliferation, prolongs survival, and maintains the expression of stem cells through the Wnt/-catenin/TCF4 axis. XTSJF also inhibits AKT activity and subsequently activates glycogen synthesis kinase-3β expression, inhibiting Wnt/beta-catenin pathway activity and downstream target gene transcript expression. The Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is inhibited by the XTSJF, leading to the suppression of colon cancer stem cell proliferation. Conclusion: Xiaotan Sanjie Prescription inhibited colon cancer stem cell growth through Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
