The lithium-ion batteries(liBs)have been widely equipped in electric/hybrid electric vehicles(EVs/HEVs)and the portable electronics due to their excellent electrochemical ***,a large number of retired liBs that consist of toxic substances(e.g.,heavy metals,electrolytes)and valuable metals(e.g.,li,Co)will inevitably flow into the waste stream,and their incineration or landfill treatment will cause severe risks to ecosystem and human *** sustainable and efficient treatment or recycling of valuable resources from spent liBs should be fully recognized for environmental and resource *** one of the most important processes for spent liBs recycling,the pretreatment is an indispensable step,which is directly related to the subsequent metal extraction and separation *** considerable progresses have been made regarding the pretreatment technologies,there are few summarized reports concerning critical processes of spent liBs recycling,especially combination of currently available recycling technologies with industrialized applications during ***,comprehensive review of the current prevailing pretreatment technologies in laboratory to existing scale-up applications is quite necessary to reveal cutting-edge development in the field of *** this review,the current pretreatment technologies are systematically categorized and introduced,along with critical *** review focused on the various options for pretreatment processes itself,instead of general spent liBs recycling technologies without the focused topics that have been sophisticatedly reviewed by previous ***,the deactivation,discharge,dismantling,separation,liberation of active material and electrolyte treatment have been summarized with the in-depth discussion of the technology development and current status of each ***,current states of industrial development are also reviewed and discussed for the development of

Enhanced strength and electrical conductivity of Al-0.3Ce alloy simultaneously with Ti(C,N)nanoparticle addition

Ti(C,N)nanoparticles were added to an Al-0.3 Ce alloy by ultrasonic *** annealing at 570℃for4 h afforded the ultimate tensile strength of 79 MPa and electrical conductivity of 64.0%IACS for the Al-0.3 Ce alloy with1.5 vol%Ti(C,N)*** performance parameters were improved by 23.4%and 0.6%IACS,respectively,compared with those of casting refining pure aluminum(64 MPa and63.4%IACS).This could be explained by the following *** addition of Ti(C,N)nanoparticles could significantly refine the grain of Al-0.3 Ce ***,most of the coarse strip-shaped second phases distributed at the grain boundaries in Al-0.3 Ce were also transformed into spherical microparticles distributed in the grains,with micro-nano hierarchical structures comprising orientated nanosized strip phases with lengths of~400 nm and widths of~100 ***,a fine micro-nano hierarchical spherical structure could be obtained after annealing at 570℃for 4 *** numbers of micro-nano hierarchical spherical structures also increased due to the precipitation of pseudosolution Ce from the aluminum matrix during the annealing treatment.

A chain-like compound of Si@CNT nanostructures and MOF-derived porous carbon as an anode for li-ion batteries

Silicon anodes are considered to have great prospects for use in batteries;however,many of their defects still need to be *** preparation of hybrid materials based on porous carbon is one of the effective ways to alleviate the adverse impact resulting from the volume change and the inferior electronic conductivity of a silicon ***,a chain-like carbon cluster structure is prepared,in which MOF-derived porous carbon acts as a shell structure to integrally encapsulate Si nanoparticles,and CNTs play a role in connecting carbon *** on the exclusive structure,the carbon shell can accommodate the volume expansion more effectively,and CNTs can improve the overall stability and *** resulting composite reveals excellent rate capacity and enhanced cycling stability;in particular,a capacity of 732 mA·h·g^(-1) at 2 A·g^(-1) is achieved with a reservation rate of 72.3% after cycling 100 times at 1 A·g^(-1).

Breast and lung cancers are the leading causes of mortality and most frequently diagnosed cancers in women and men,respectively,*** the antitumor activity of chalcones has been extensively studied,the molecular mechanisms of isoliquiritigenin analog 2',4',4-trihydroxychalcone(metochalcone;TEC)against carcinomas remain less well *** this study,we found that TEC inhibited cell proliferation of breast cancer BT549 cells and lung cancer A549 cells in a concentration-dependent *** induced cell cycle arrest in the S-phase,cell migration inhibition in vitro,and reduced tumor growth in ***,transcriptomic analysis revealed that TEC modulated the activity of the JAK2/STAT3 and P53 *** triggered the senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP)by repressing the JAK2/STAT3 *** mechanism of metochalcone against breast cancer depended on the induction of SASP via deactivation of the JAK2/STAT3 pathway,highlighting the potential of chalcone in senescence-inducing therapy against carcinomas.

2D–3D dual carbon layer confined ultrasmall VN nanoparticles for improving lithium-ion storage in hybrid capacitors

lithium-ion capacitors(liCs) of achieving high power and energy density have garnered significant attention. However, the kinetics unbalance between anode and cathode can impede the application of liCs. Vanadium nitride(VN) with a high theoretical specific capacity(~ 1200 m Ah·g^(-1)) is a better pseudocapacitive anode to match the response of cathode in liCs. However, the insertion/extraction of li-ions in VN's operation results in significant volume expansion. Herein, the VN/N-r GO-5composite that three-dimentional(3D) dicyandiamidederived-carbon(DDC) tightly wrapped VN quantum dots(VN QDTs) on two-dimentional(2D) reduced graphene oxid(r GO) was prepared by a facile strategy. The VN QDTs can reduce ion diffusion length and improve charge transfer kinetics. The 2D r GO as a template provides support for nanoparticle dispersion and improves electrical conductivity. The 3D DDC tightly encapsulated with VN QDTs mitigates agglomeration of VN particles as well as volume expansion. Correspondingly, the liCs with VN/Nr GO-5 composite as anode and activated carbon(AC) as cathode were fabricated, which exhibits a high energy density and power density. Such strategy provides a perspective for improving the electrochemical properties of liC anode materials by suppressing volume expansion and enhancing conductivity.

Synthesis,Characterization of Polyethylene Ionomers and Their Antibacterial Properties

Owing to its high production volume and wide range of application s,polyethylene has gained a great deal of attention,but its low surface energy and non-polar nature have limited its application in some important *** this study,ethylene/11-iodo-1-undecene copolymers were prepared and used as the intermediates to afford a series of imidazolium-based ionomers bearing methanesulfonate(CH_(3)SO_(3)^(-)),trifluoromethanesulfonate(CF_(3)SO_(3)^(-)),or bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide(Tf_(2)N^(-))*** tensile test results showed that the stress-at-break(7.8-25.6 MPa)and the elongation-at-break(445%-847%)of the ionomers could be adjusted by changing the counterion species and the ionic group *** importantly,the ionomers exhibited marvelous antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus(***)and Escherichia coli(***).The ionomers bearing Tf_(2)N^(-)exhibited antibacterial activities>99%against both *** and *** when ionic content reached 9.1%.The imidazolium-based ionomers prepared in this work demonstrated excellent comprehensive properties,especially highefficient and broad-spectrum antibacterial ability,exhibiting the potential fo r the application as the antibacterial materials in packaging,medical,and other fields.

Improving landscape connectivity through habitat restoration:application for Asian elephant conservation in Xishuangbanna Prefecture,China

Habitat restoration is an effective method for improving landscape connectivity,which can reduce habitat *** landscape connectivity could promote connections between habitat,which is extremely essential to preserve gene flow and population *** study proposes a methodological framework to analyze landscape connectivity for Asian elephant habitat conservation,aiming to provide practical options for reducing habitat fragmentation and improving habitat *** approach involved combining a species distribution model using MaxEnt and landscape functional connectivity models using graph theory to assess the impact on connectivity improvement via farmland/plantation restoration as *** results showed that:(1)there were 119 suitable habitat patches of Asian elephant covering a total area of 1952.41 km^(2).(2)The connectivity between habitats improved significantly after vegetation restoration and the gain first decreased and then increased with the increase of dispersal distance.(3)The first few new habitat patches that were identified played an important role in improving connectivity,and the variation rate of connectivity gradually leveled off as the number of new habitats increased.(4)Prioritization of the 25 best new habitat patches increased connectivity from 0.54%to 5.59%as the dispersal distance increased and mainly was located between two Asian elephant distribution regions and two *** of new habitat patches was effective for improving or restoring *** findings can be used as guidance for improving the studied fragmented Asian elephant habitats,and they can also be used as a reference for the habitat restoration of other endangered species heavily affected by habitat fragmentation.

Aiming at the design problem of aviation swarm combat course of action(COA),considering the influence of stochastic parameters in the causal relationship model and optimization problem model,according to the dynamic influence net(DIN)theory,stochastic simulation technique,feedforward neural network(FNN)function approximation technique and multi-objective artificial fish school algorithm(MOAFSA),this paper proposed a COA optimized method based on DIN and multi-objective stochastic chance constraint optimization for aviation swarm ***,on the basis of establishing the overall framework of the model and defining the elements of causal relationship modeling,the static and dynamic causal relationship modeling and optimization problem modeling were carried out ***,the probability propagation mechanism of DIN was established,which mainly included two aspects,i.e.,the overall process and the specific ***,input and output data were generated based on stochastic *** to these data,FNN was adopted for function approximation,and MOAFSA was adopted for iterative ***,the rationality of the model,and the effectiveness and superiority of the algorithm were verified through multiple sets of simulation cases.

Gut commensal metabolite rhamnose promotes macrophages phagocytosis by activating SLC12A4 and protects against sepsis in mice

Sepsis progression is significantly associated with the disruption of gut ***,the modulatory mechanisms of gut microbiota operating during sepsis are still ***,we investigated how gut commensals impact sepsis development in a pre-clinical *** ligation and puncture(CLP)surgery was used to establish polymicrobial sepsis in *** depleted of gut microbiota by an antibiotic cocktail(ABX)exhibited a significantly higher level of mortality than *** determined by metabolomics analysis,ABX treatment has depleted many metabolites,and subsequent supplementation with L-rhamnose(rhamnose,Rha),a bacterial carbohydrate metabolite,exerted profound immunomodulatory properties with a significant enhancement in macrophage phagocytosis,which in turn improved organ damage and ***,rhamnose binds directly to and activates the solute carrier family 12(potassium-chloride symporter),member 4(SLC12A4)in macrophages and promotes phagocytosis by activating the small G-proteins,Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate1(Rac1)and cell division control protein 42 homolog(Cdc42).Interestingly,rhamnose has enhanced the phagocytosis capacity of macrophages from sepsis *** conclusion,by identifying SLC12A4 as the host interacting protein,we disclosed that the gut commensal metabolite rhamnose is a functional molecular that could promote the phagocytosis capacity of macrophages and protect the host against sepsis.
