DEAR EDITOR,Cavefish are of considerable interest due to the remarkable morphological changes that occurred during their adaptation to cave or subterranean river *** changes are thought to involve trade-offs in metabolic requirements and energy *** play a vital role in oxygen use and energy metabolism;thus,mitochondrial genes are likely to have experienced specific selective pressures during cavefish *** this study,we assembled and annotated the mitogenome of Sinocyclocheilus sanxiaensis,a typical cavefish species in *** this sequence and other available mitogenomes from the NCBI database,we reconstructed an updated phylogeny of Sinocyclocheilus based on 29 *** species groups were revealed,with the recently erected *** species group *** determine whether divergent selective pressures have acted on the protein-coding genes(PCGs)of the 29 Sinocyclocheilus species exhibiting different morphological features(including eye shape and body color),the fish were classified into three groups according to their cave-related *** branch model test revealed higher nonsynonymous/synonymous substitution ratios(ω)in the cave-dwelling groups,potentially resulting from a balance between adaptive selection and relaxed functional *** analysis using site and branch-site models identified 24 highly credible positive selection sites located on nine PCGs,with most sites also showing radical changes in amino acid *** study sheds light on the phylogeny and mitogenomic evolution of Sinocyclocheilus cavefish,highlighting their successful adaptation and survival in subterranean environments.

Evaluating changes in business distribution within urban rail transit hubs in Beijing via Point of Interest (POI) data analysis (2008-2020)

This paper,set against the backdrop of expanding urban rail networks and dynamic urban development,focuses on the distribution and evolution of commercial Points of Interests(POIs)within the central urban rail transit areas of *** study examines data from four different years-2008,2013,2017,and 2020-to observe the temporal evolution of commercial *** identifies stable explanatory variables affecting the distribution and evolution of commercial POIs,which include rail transit accessibility,characteristics of the working and residential population distribution around stations,and the construction intensity in the vicinity of station *** statistical analysis and model building,relatively stable linear regression equations were established,with R2 values generally maintained above 0.5(except for 2017).The study advances our understanding of the influence of rail transit on urban commercial spaces and how this influence shifts with temporal and urban developmental *** elucidates the correlation between changes in the number of businesses and spatial configuration,offering insights and information for urban planners and policy *** research also serves as a model for exploring the interplay between urban rail transit and commercial spaces in other major cities.

The phenomenon of strong metal-support interaction(SMSI)observed in supported metal catalysts,usually accompanied by the formation of the encapsulation layer on metal nanoparticles,has attracted extensive research attention due to its significance in heterogeneous ***,great progress has been made in recent years in investigating SMSI by in situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM),along with an enhanced comprehension of the underlying mechanisms governing SMSI *** emerging topic summarizes recent progress utilizing in situ TEM to study the interaction between metal and support and the relationship between the structure and performance of the supported catalyst under reaction conditions.A brief perspective about the use of in situ TEM for further study of SMSI is also presented,showing prospects in this field that will stimulate further upsurging research in promoting the catalytic efficiency of supported catalysts.

Upper-rim-modified thioether thiacalix[4]arene used for liquid-liquid extraction of Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)in hydrochloric acid medium

Gold(Au)and palladium(Pd)play an increasing role in the production and human life;Therefore,it is of great significance to study their recovery.A 5,11,17,23-tetra-ethylthio-25,26,27,28-tetra-hydroxyl thiacalix[4]arene(TCAET)was synthesized specifically for the capture of Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)from HCl medium by liquid-liquid *** a 0.1 mol·L^(-1)HCl medium,the transfer of Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)from the aqueous phase to the organic phase was highly efficient,with a transfer ratio of 100%for Au(Ⅲ)and 98%for Pd(Ⅱ).Furthermore,the extraction equilibrium time for Au(Ⅲ)was just 5 ***'s method data demonstrated that TCAET formed complexes with Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)in a ratio of 2:3 and 1:1,respectively,during the extraction *** showed high selectivity toward Pd(Ⅱ)and Au(Ⅲ)over other competing metal ***,both Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)could be successfully stripped from the loaded organic phases with a 1.0 mol·L^(-1)thiourea in 0.5 mol·L^(-1)HCl and 0.5 mol·L^(-1)thiourea in 0.5 mol·L^(-1)HCl,*** obtained from five consecutive extraction-stripping cycles showed good reusability of TCAET toward Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)*** conclusion can provide a certain reference for thiacalixarene in the recovery of precious metal species.

Feedback processing in the primate brain and in AI systems

The primate brain and artificial intelligence(AI) can both be conceptualized as information processing systems, each with its own distinct biological and computational architectures. While there are parallels between them, their respective structural and functional connections show significant differences. In this paper, we examine the central role of feedback processing in both the primate brain and AI systems, which has been shown to be crucial in shaping neural processing. By reviewing the key features of feedback processes in the primate brain, which allows the brain to incorporate prior knowledge, contextual information, and taskdemands into early-stage processing, we highlight the divergence in goals and functions between biological and AI *** these differences is crucial for elucidating the cognitive capabilities of the primate brain and for addressing computational challenges in AI. In advocating “Cognition-Inspired-Computation”, we suggest that integrating insights from feedback processing in the primate brain into AI research will offer potentially significant improvements for the advancement of AI systems.

This species is a member of the traditional *** species group based on the presence of a lateral line and cephalic lateral-line canals.

Dynamic Hypergraph Modeling and Robustness Analysis for SIoT

The Social Internet of Things(SIoT)integrates the Internet of Things(IoT)and social networks,taking into account the social attributes of objects and diversifying the relationship between humans and objects,which overcomes the limitations of the IoT’s focus on associations between *** Intelligence(AI)technology is rapidly *** is critical to build trustworthy and transparent systems,especially with system security issues coming to the *** paper emphasizes the social attributes of objects and uses hypergraphs to model the diverse entities and relationships in SIoT,aiming to build an SIoT hypergraph generation model to explore the complex interactions between entities in the context of intelligent *** hypergraph generation models impose too many constraints and fail to capture more details of real *** contrast,this paper proposes a hypergraph generation model that evolves dynamically over time,where only the number of nodes is *** combines node wandering with a forest fire model and uses two different methods to control the size of the *** new nodes are added,the model can promptly reflect changes in entities and relationships within *** results exhibit that our model can effectively replicate the topological structure of real-world *** also evaluate the vulnerability of the hypergraph under different attack strategies,which provides theoretical support for building a more robust intelligent SIoT hypergraph model and lays the foundation for building safer and more reliable systems in the future.

A new species of sisorid catfish of the genus Exostoma from the Salween drainage, Yunnan, China

A new species of the sisorid catfish genus Exostoma Blyth, 1860 was collected from two hill-stream tributaries of the Nujiang （Salween River） drainage in Gaoligong Mountain, south-western Yunnan Province, China from 2003 to 2006 and from two tributaries of the Salween River in Cangyuan County Lingcang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China （in 2007） and in Yongde County, Lingcang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China （in 2015）. Exostoma gaoligongense sp. nov. is the 10th species of the genus and is most similar to E. vinciguerrae in morphology but can be distinguished by pelvic fin reaching anus vs. not reaching; maxillary barbels just reaching or slightly surpassing pectoral-fin origin vs. surpassing pectoral-fin origin or even reaching posterior end of gill membrane; abdominal vertebrae 23-25 vs. 25-27; length of dorsal fin/dorsal to adipose distance 90.3%-287.0% vs. 59.2-85.7. A key to Exostoma spp. is provided.

Improving IEC thermal model for oil natural air natural transformers using optimised parameters based on dynamic simulation

Accurate assessment of hot-spot temperature is essential for the safe operation of power *** dynamic thermal models cannot estimate hot-spot temperature accurately since some input parameters are roughly determined by transformer capacity and cooling mode while ignoring the effect of winding structure,tank dimensions,and material physical *** improve the accuracy of temperature assessment,empirical parameters of the IEC thermal model including thermal constants,winding and oil exponents are optimised with the help of numerical simulation in this *** on energy conservation and heat transfer theory,a computational fluid dynamic(CFD)model of a transformer in oil natural air natural(ONAN)cooling mode is *** CFD model simulates the entity's structure,sizes,and multi-stage heat dissipation processes realistically,so it can more precisely calculate the dynamic hot-spot *** to the simulated temperature curves at different operating conditions,the thermal constants and oil exponent are estimated using non-linear regression,and the winding exponent is optimised using linear regression.A case study is conducted on an ONAN *** shows the improved IEC model with optimised parameters can more accurately evaluate hot-spot temperature,and the absolute error is decreased by 2.4 K(38.7%)compared with traditional thermal models.

Electrochemical synthesis of trimetallic nickel-iron-copper nanoparticles via potential-cycling for high current density anion exchange membrane water-splitting applications

Hydrogen is known for its elevated energy density and environmental compatibility and is a promising alternative to fossil *** water electrolysis utilizing renewable energy sources has emerged as a means to obtain high-purity ***,electrocatalysts used in the process are fabricated using conventional wet chemical synthesis methods,such as sol-gel,hydrothermal,or surfactantassisted approaches,which often necessitate intricate pretreatment procedures and are vulnerable to post-treatment ***,this study introduces a streamlined and environmentally conscious one-step potential-cycling approach to generate a highly efficient trimetallic nickel-iron-copper electrocatalyst in situ on nickel *** synthesized material exhibited remarkable performance,requiring a mere 476 mV to drive electrochemical water splitting at 100 mA cm^(-2)current density in alkaline ***,this material was integrated into an anion exchange membrane watersplitting device and achieved an exceptionally high current density of 1 A cm^(-2)at a low cell voltage of2.13 V,outperforming the noble-metal benchmark(2.51 V).Additionally,ex situ characterizations were employed to detect transformations in the active sites during the catalytic process,revealing the structural transformations and providing inspiration for further design of electrocatalysts.
