With the explosive growth of the world's population and the rapid increase in industrial water consumption,the world's water supply has fallen into *** shortage of fresh water resources has become a global problem,especially in arid *** nature,many organisms can collect water from foggy water under harsh conditions,which provides us with inspiration for the development of new functional fog harvesting materials.A large number of bionic special wettable synthetic surfaces are synthesized for water mist *** this review,we introduce some water collection phenomena in nature,outline the basic theories of biological water harvesting,and summarize six mechanisms of biological water collection:increased surface wettability,increased water transmission area,long-distance water delivery,water accumulation and storage,condensation promotion,and ***,the water collection mechanisms of three typical organisms and their synthesis are *** their function,water collection efficiency,new developments in their biomimetic materials are narrated,which are cactus,spider and desert *** study of multiple bionics was inspired by the discovery of Nepenthes,moist and smooth *** excellent characteristics of a variety of biological water collection structures,combined with each other,are far superior to other single synthetic ***,the main problems in the preparation and application of biomimetic fog harvesting materials and the future development trend of materials fog harvesting are prospected.

Functional characterization of a potassium transporter gene NrHAK1 in Nicotiana rustica

The purpose of this study is to investigate the function of a novel potassium transporter gene (NrHAK1) isolated from Nicotiana rustica roots using yeast complement and real-time PCR technique. The complementary DNA (cDNA) of NrHAK1, 2 488 bp long, contains an open reading frame (ORF) of 2 334 bp encoding a protein of 777 amino acids (87.6 kDa) with 12 predicted transmembrane domains. The NrHAK1 protein shows a high sequence similarity to those of high-affinity potassium transporters in Mesembryanthemum, Phytolacca acinosa, Arabidopsis thaliana, and so on. We found that the NrHAK1 gene could complement the yeast-mutant defect in K+ uptake. Among several tissues surveyed, the expression level of NrHAK1 was most abundant in the root tip and was up-regulated when exposed to potassium starvation. Moreover, the transcript accumulation was significantly reduced by adding 5 mmol/L NH4+ to the solution. These results suggest that NrHAK1 plays an important role in potassium absorption in N. rustica.

When the ice-going ships advance in the polar region,the navigation in the floe ice region is often encountered,the hull will suffer the high-frequency contact force produced by the floe ice,which will affect the navigation performance of the ***,it is necessary to predict the water and ice force acting on the hull *** this paper,the numerical simulation and experimental verification will be conducted for the polar scientific research ship-"Xue Long".Based on the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)and DEM theory,a virtual mass method is proposed to realize the predicting of the water and ice force and the simulation of the interaction phenomenon between the ice and hull,the numerical method is built to calculate the force acting on the *** the same time,the synthetic ice is used to carry out the experimental research on the advancing straight with different speeds and the oblique navigation with different drift *** optimal virtual mass coefficient is determined through the comparison and analysis of the numerical simulation and test results under typical *** to the optimal virtual mass coefficient,the numerical simulation is carried out with different speeds and drift angles,which is compared with the experiment more *** is found that the virtual mass method based on the combination of CFD and DEM can simulate the overturning and the sliding along the hull of the floe ice vividly,the relative error of the total resistance between model test and numerical method in advancing straight is almost within 10%,while the relative error of the total longitudinal force in oblique navigation is almost within 15%.

The effect of solution annealing on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a Ni-Cr-W-Fe alloy developed for advanced 700？C ultra-supercritical power plants was investigated. Test samples in this study were subjected to different solution treatments and the same aging treatment（at 760？C for 1 h）.When solution annealing temperature was elevated from 1020？C to 1150？C, the stress-rupture life at750？C/320 MPa was increased from 60 h to 300 h, the stress-rupture elongation was enhanced from12% to 17%, and the elongation of the tensile at 750？C was improved from 11% to 24%. All tensile and stress-rupture samples displayed an intergranular dimple mixed fracture. Intergranular micro-cracks had a great relationship with the morphology of grain boundary carbides. Most carbides retained the morphology of globular shape and continuous thin plate. After tensile and stress-rupture tests, a few carbides were converted into lamellar. The results showed that intergranular micro-cracks were easier to form at continuous thin plate carbides than at globular shape carbides. Lamellar carbides hardly caused the nucleation of micro-cracks. Besides, grain boundaries sliding and elements diffusion during stressrupture tests led to the formation of precipitate free zones, which accelerated the extension of microcracks and influenced the stress-rupture life.

In this paper,a visible light-responsive Sn^(2+)and N co-doped TiO_(2)photocatalyst was prepared by facile one-pot hydrothermal *** as-prepared samples were characterized in detail by a series of characterization *** results showed that the Sn^(2+)and N elements were co-doped into TiO_(2),while the catalyst still maintains anatase crystal structure and gets irregular little nanocluster in diameter of 9–10 nm with higher specific surface *** absorption edge of Sn^(2+)and N co-doped TiO_(2)extends to the visible light *** with Sn^(2+)-doped TiO_(2)and N-TiO_(2),the absorption edges have obvious red-shift of about 50 and 70 nm,*** synergistic effect of O 2p-N 2p and O 2p-Sn 5s hybridization to form impurity levels is the main reason for the *** hydrogen production performance of the Sn^(2+)and N co-doping TiO_(2)(n(N)/n(Ti)=1)catalyst reached the maximum value of 0.37 mmol·h^(-1)·g^(-1)under visible light,which is higher than that of N-doped TiO_(2)and SnTiO_(2)-doped TiO_(2)*** result is due to the wider visible light region-responsive ability of Sn^(2+)and N codoped into TiO_(2).Furthermore,mild hydrothermal methods will not make the Sn^(2+)oxidized to Sn^(4+),which make the catalysts still maintain high photocatalytic *** work provides a simple and mild method for the preparation of dual-element co-doped TiO_(2)with high crystallinity,excellent performance and broad application prospects.

T-wave alternans （TWA） in surface electrocardiograph （ECG） signal is considered a marker of abnormal ventricular function which may be associated with ventricular tachy- cardia. Several methods have been developed in recent years to evaluate the important feature. One such method is known as modified moving average （MMA） analysis, which performs well for different levels of TWA, but it is sensitive to the noise in T-waves. In this paper we propose an improved MMA algorithm, which adds a stage of T-wave curve fitting for the MMA method before intermediate averaging. The curve fitting is performed by means of least square method technique. Our assessment study demon- strates the improved performance.

BACKGROUND At present,the existing internal medicine drug treatment can alleviate the high glucose toxicity of patients to a certain extent,to explore the efficacy of laparoscopic jejunoileal side to side anastomosis in the treatment of type 2 diabetes,the report is as *** To investigate the effect of jejunoileal side-to-side anastomosis on metabolic parameters in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 78 patients with T2DM who were treated via jejunoileal lateral *** indicators were collected preoperatively,as well as at 3 and 6 months *** metabolic indicators analyzed included body mass index(BMI),systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-hour blood glucose(PBG),glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting C-peptide,2-hour C-peptide(PCP),fasting insulin(Fins),2-hour insulin(Pins),insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),βCellular function index(HOMA-β),alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,serum total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(L DL-C),triglycerides(TG),high-density lipoprotein,and uric acid(UA)*** SBP,DBP,PBG,HbA1c,LDL-C,and TG were all significantly lower 3 months postoperative vs preoperative values;body weight,BMI,SBP,DBP,FBG,PBG,HbA1c,TC,TG,UA,and HOMA-IR values were all significantly lower 6 months postoperative vs at 3 months;and PCP,Fins,Pins,and HOMA-βwere all significantly higher 6 months postoperative vs at 3 months(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION Side-to-side anastomosis of the jejunum and ileum can effectively treat T2DM and improve the metabolic index levels associated with it.

Hydrogenated nanocrystalline silicon carbide （SIC） thin films were deposited on the single-crystal silicon substrate using the helicon wave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition （HW-PECVD） technique. The influences of magnetic field and hydrogen dilution ratio on the structures of SiC thin film were investigated with the atomic force microscopy （AFM）, the Fourier transform infrared absorption （FTIR） and the transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The results indicate that the high plasma activity of the helicon wave mode proves to be a key factor to grow crystalline SiC thin films at a relative low substrate temperature. Also, the decrease in the grain sizes from the level of microcrystalline to that of nanocrystalline can be achieved by increasing the hydrogen dilution ratios. Transmission electron microscopy measurements reveal that the size of most nanocrystals in the film deposited under the higher hydrogen dilution ratios is smaller than the doubled Bohr radius of 3C-SiC （approximately 5.4 nm）, and the light emission measurements also show a strong blue photoluminescence at the room temperature, which is considered to be caused by the quantum confinement effect of small-sized SiC nanocrystals.

Background:Preoperative prediction of microvascular invasion(MVI)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)may optimize individualized treatment *** study aimed to investigate the prognostic differences between HCC patients undergoing liver resection(LR)and liver transplantation(LT)based on predicted MVI ***:We analysed 905 patients who underwent LR,including 524 who underwent anatomical resection(AR)and 117 who underwent LT for HCC within the Milan criteria using propensity score matching.A nomogram model was used to predict preoperative MVI ***:The concordance indices of the nomogram for predicting MVI were 0.809 and 0.838 in patients undergoing LR and LT,*** on an optimal cut-off value of 200 points,the nomogram defined patients as high-or low-risk MVI *** resulted in a lower 5-year recurrence rate and higher 5-year overall survival(OS)rate than LR among the high-risk patients(23.6%vs 73.2%,P<0.001;87.8%vs 48.1%,P<0.001)and low-risk patients(19.0%vs 45.7%,P<0.001;86.5%vs 70.0%,P=0.002).The hazard ratios(HRs)of LT vs LR for recurrence and OS were 0.18(95%confidence interval[CI],0.09–0.37)and 0.12(95%CI,0.04–0.37)among the high-risk patients and 0.37(95%CI,0.21–0.66)and 0.36(95%CI,0.17–0.78)among the low-risk *** also provided a lower 5-year recurrence rate and higher 5-year OS rate than AR among the high-risk patients(24.8%vs 63.5%,P=0.001;86.7%vs 65.7%,P=0.004),with HRs of LT vs AR for recurrence and OS being 0.24(95%CI,0.11–0.53)and 0.17(95%CI,0.06–0.52),*** 5-year recurrence and OS rates between patients undergoing LT and AR were not significantly different in the low-risk patients(19.4%vs 28.3%,P=0.129;85.7%vs 77.8%,P=0.161).Conclusions:LT was superior to LR for patients with HCC within the Milan criteria with a predicted high or low risk of *** significant differences in prognosis were found between LT and AR in patients with a low risk of MVI.
