Neonatal Propofol and Etomidate Exposure Enhance Inhibitory Synaptic Transmission in Hippocampal Cornus Ammonis 1 Pyramidal Neurons

Background：Propofol and etomidate are the most important intravenous general anesthetics in the current clinical use and that mediate gamma-aminobutyric acid＇s （GABAergic） synaptic ***,their long-term effects on GABAergic synaptic transmission induced by neonatal propofol or etomidate exposure remain *** investigated the long-term GABAergic neurotransmission alterations,following neonatal propofol and etomidate ***：Sprague-Dawley rat pups at postnatal days 4 6 were underwent 6-h-long propofol-induced or 5-h-long etomidate-induced *** performed whole-cell patch-clamp recording from pyramidal cells in the cornus ammonis 1 area of acute hippocampal slices of postnatal 80-90 *** and miniature inhibitory GABAergic currents （spontaneous inhibitory postsynaptic currents [sIPSCs] and miniature inhibitory postsynaptic currents [mIPSCs]） and their kinetic characters were *** glutamatergic tonic effect on inhibitory transmission and the effect of bumetanide on neonatal propofol exposure were also ***：Neonatal propofol exposure significantly increased the frequency of mIPSCs （from 1.87 ± 0.35 Hz to 3.43 ± 0.51 Hz,P 〈 0.05） and did not affect the amplitude of mIPSCs and *** propofol and etomidate slowed the decay time of mIPSCs kinetics （168.39 ± 27.91 ms and 267.02 ± 100.08 ms vs.68.18 ± 12.43 ms;P 〈 0.05）.Bumetanide significantly blocked the frequency increase and reversed the kinetic alteration of mIPSCs induced by neonatal propofol exposure （3.01 ± 0.45 Hz and 94.30 ± 32.56 ms）.Conclusions：Neonatal propofol and etomidate exposure has long-term effects on inhibitory GABAergic *** might act at pre-and post-synaptic GABA receptor A （GABAA） receptors within GABAergic synapses and impairs the glutamatergic tonic input to GABAergic synapses;etomidate might act at the postsynaptic site.

A hybrid catalyst for efficient electrochemical N_(2)fixation formed by decorating amorphous MoS_(3)nanosheets with MIL-101(Fe)nanodots

Metal-organic frameworks possessing relatively large pores,high surface areas,and unsaturated metal sites are attractive materials for use as electrocatalysts in the reduction of N_(2)to NH_(3).In this work,a MIL-101(Fe)/MoS_(3)hybrid catalyst,prepared by using a precursor-transformation strategy,is shown to be an effective electrocatalyst for the N_(2)reduction reaction(NRR).Under solvothermal conditions,micro-sized octahedral MIL-101(Fe)precursors are converted into ultra-small nanodots,while amorphous MoS_(3)derived from(NH_(4))_(2)MoS_(4)provides a surface suitable for anchoring the MIL-101(Fe)*** asprepared composite exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity and durability for the NRR with a Faraday efficiency of 36.71%and an NH_(3)yield of 25.7μg h^(-1)mg_(cat)^(-1)at-0.1 V *** in 0.1 M *** results show that the dispersion and adherence of MIL-101(Fe)nanodots on amorphous MoS_(3)improves the exposure of active centers and aids mass transfer,resulting in greatly enhanced catalytic activity and stability.

Effective VTeO/SBA-15 Catalyst Prepared by Precursor Method for the Selective Oxidation of Propane to Acrolein

Precursor decomposition was used for the preparation of VTeO/SBA-15 catalyst for the selective oxidation of propane to acrolein. The catalyst shows a better performance compared with those prepared by conventional impregnant method. A yield of 9.3% of acrolein was achieved with 2% V loadings at 500 ℃. XRD, N2-adsorption, H2-TPR, Py-IR and XPS measurements were used to unclose the relationship between the structure and performance of the catalyst.

Ages and Compositions of the Precambrian High-grade Basement of the Qilian Terrane and Its Adjacent Areas

Based on geological, chronological, geochemical and Nd isotopic studies of the high-grade basement of the Qilian terrane, the authors have drawn the following main conclusions: (1) the high-grade basement of the Qilian terrane consists mainly of meta-argillo-arenaceous rocks and granites and its bulk part was formed in the period of 0.8–1.0 Ga (the Jinningian period); (2) most of the meta-argillo-arenaceous rocks and granitic rocks have strong negative Eu and Ba anomalies (Eu/Eu*= 0.47–0.71 and Ba/Ba*=0.16–0.64), with fDM and ENd (1.0 Ga) ranging from 1.87 to 2.26 Ga and from ?8.54 to ?4.06 respectively, showing relatively high maturity; and (3) the Jinningian granitic rocks are a typical product of continent-continent collision, being probably related to the formation of the supercontinent Rodinia. These studies, combined with the study of high-grade basement rocks near the Qilian terrane, suggest that before the Jinningian period, the Qilian-Qaidam northern-margin terrane and Dunhuang-Alxa terrane were separated from each other, belonging to different plate systems of the North China craton and Yangtze platform respectively. The Qilian orogenic belt was the same as or similar to the Qiling orogenic belt in terms of the geological evolution history at least before the Jinningian period.

New Method to Obtain Strain Gradient Chirped Fiber Bragg Gratings

We describe a new method for applying a strain gradient with different profiles to convert uniform fiber Bragg gratings into linear or non-linear chirped ones. The chirping profile and the chirp rate of the fiber gratings can be controlled by simply varying the tension applied. Both the theory and experimental results are presented.

FDI and China＇s Domestic Industrial Expansion

The theoretical and empirical methods have been adopted to analyze FDI＇s influence on China＇s domestic enterprises＇ industrial expansion. The result shows that there are many factors determining the influence of FDI on the domestic enterprises＇ industrial expansion. In China, the foreign-invested enterprises have exerted significantly positive influence on the domestic enterprises＇ industrial expansion through market competition and technological spillover. The mechanism is quite complicated. Hence, the utilization of FDI can lead to the technological progress, and further the industrial expansion and development.

Objective: The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic has had a serious impact on health all over the world. Cancer patient, whose immunity is often compromised, faces a huge ***, some COVID-19 vaccines are being developed and applied on general population;however,whether cancer patients should take COVID-19 vaccine remains unknown. Our study aimed to explore the knowledge, attitude, acceptance, and predictors of intention to receive the COVID-19 vaccine among cancer patients in Eastern ***: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Eastern China from June 17 th to September 3 rd, *** were selected using a convenience sampling method. A self-report questionnaire was developed to assess knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine, attitude towards the vaccine and acceptance of the vaccine;following a review of similar studies previously published in the scientific literature, multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the predictors associated with COVID-19 vaccine ***: A total of 2158 cancer patients were enrolled in this study. The rate of vaccine hesitancy was 24.05%(519/2158);further, among the participants of vaccine acceptance, 767 had taken COVID-19 vaccine(35.54%), and 872 were willing to get vaccinated(40.01%). A total of 24 variables including demographic characteristics, clinical status of cancer, impact of COVID-19 pandemic on study participants,patients’ knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine, and attitude towards the vaccine, had significant differences between the ‘‘vaccine hesitancy" population and ‘‘vaccine acceptance" *** logistic regression analysis indicated that parameters including alcohol consumption(odds ratio [OR] = 1.849;95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.375–2.488;P-reference [P-Ref] < 0.001 vs nondrinkers), income impacted by COVID-19 pandemic(OR = 1.930, 2.037 and 2.688 for mild, moderate,and severe impact, respectively;all P-Ref < 0.01 vs no impact), know

Congenital lipoid adrenal hyperplasia with Graves'disease:A case report

BACKGROUND Congenital adrenal hyperplasia(CAH),which is caused by a mutation of the steroidogenic acute regulatory(StAR)*** patients are usually characterized by adrenal insufficiency in the first year of life,salt loss,glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid deficiency,and female external genitalia,regardless of chromosomal *** with non-classical lipoid CAH usually develop glucocorticoid deficiency and mild mineralocorticoid deficiency at 2-4 years of *** SUMMARY Herein,We report the case of a woman with non-classic lipoid CAH combined with Graves’*** chromosome karyotype was 46,XX,and highthroughput sequencing revealed two missense variants in the StAR gene:c.229C>T(p.Q77X)and c.814C>T(p.R272C),which were inherited from both parents(non-close relatives).The patient was treated for Graves’disease in a timely manner and the dosage of glucocorticoid was adjusted during the treatment of Graves’*** This is the first case of non-classic lipoid CAH combined with Graves’disease reported in the Chinese *** addition to conventional glucocorticoid replacement therapy,timely adjustments were made to the dosages of thyroid hormone and glucocorticoid to avoid adrenal crisis as a consequence of the increased demand and accelerated metabolism of glucocorticoids when the patient was diagnosed with Graves’disease.

A compact two-dimensional(2-D)finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)method is proposed to calculate the resonant frequencies and quality factors of a partially loaded cavity that is uniform in the𝑧-direction and has an arbitrary cross section in the𝑥x–y𝑦*** the description of𝑧dependence by𝑘z,the three-dimensional(3-D)problem can be transformed into a 2-D ***,less memory and CPU time are required as compared to the conventional 3-D FDTD *** representative examples,a half-loaded rectangular cavity,an inhomogeneous cylindrical cavity and a cubic cavity loaded with dielectric post,are presented to validate the utility and efficiency of the proposed method.
