Light grazing alleviates aeolian erosion–deposition effects on microbial communities in a semi-arid grassland

Background Soil erosion affects the stability of terrestrial ecosystems and ecosystem services by directly or indirectly impacting the cycling of soil materials and energy and reducing the fertility of grassland soils. However, research on microbial adaptation to grazing and soil erosion is limited, particularly in relation to grassland ecosystem restora-tion. Here, we assess microbial communities subjected to simulated soil erosion and grazing in a semi-arid grassland of Inner Mongolia, *** No significant change was observed in soil variables. However, the structure of the soil microbial commu-nity underwent significant changes as a result of soil erosion and soil erosion plus grazing, leading to a significant increase in the relative abundance of Cyanobacteria(116.80% vs 116.38%). Wind erosion and deposition contributed to an increase in the network complexity of soil bacterial and fungal communities. However, much of this effect was alleviated by grazing. Simultaneously, aeolian processes and grazing regulate soil microbial community assembly, leading to inconsistent patterns of change in bacterial and fungal communities. Under wind erosion and deposi-tion, the relative contribution of deterministic processes(4.44% vs 31.11%) in bacterial communities increased, while the relative contribution of stochastic processes(2.23% vs 20%) in fungal communities reduced. Grazing resulted in a decrease in the relative contribution of deterministic processes(8.89%) in the bacterial community and an increase in the relative contribution of stochastic processes(8.89%) in the fungal *** This study presents a comprehensive investigation of the response of soil microbial communities to aeolian erosion–deposition and grazing in a semi-arid grassland. Background:Climate change profoundly shapes the population health at the global ***,there was still insufficient and inconsistent evidence for the association between heat exposure and chronic kidney disease(CKD).Methods:In the present study,we studied the association of heat exposure with hospitalizations for cause-specific CKD using a national inpatient database in China during the study period of hot season from 2015 to *** time-series regression models and random-effects Meta-analysis were developed to estimate the city-specific and national averaged associations at a 7 lag-day span,***:A total of 768,129 hospitalizations for CKD was recorded during the study *** results showed that higher temperature was associated with elevated risk of hospitalizations for CKD,especially in sub-tropical *** a 1℃ increase in daily mean temperature,the cumulative relative risks(RR)over lag 0-7 d were 1.008[95% confidence interval(CI)1.003-1.012]for *** attributable fraction of CKD hospitalizations due to high temperatures was 5.50%.Stronger associations were observed among younger patients and those with obstructive *** study also found that exposure to heatwaves was associated with added risk of hospitalizations for CKD compared to non-heatwave days(RR=1.116,95%CI 1.069-1.166)above the effect of daily mean ***:Short-term heat exposure may increase the risk of hospitalization for *** findings provide insights into the health effects of climate change and suggest the necessity of guided protection strategies against the adverse effects of high temperatures.

Effect of bubble morphology and behavior on power consumption in non-Newtonian fluids’aeration process

Due to a prolonged operation time and low mass transfer efficiency, the primary challenge in the aeration process of non-Newtonian fluids is the high energy consumption, which is closely related to the form and rate of impeller, ventilation, rheological properties and bubble morphology in the reactor. In this perspective, through optimal computational fluid dynamics models and experiments, the relationship between power consumption, volumetric mass transfer rate(kLa) and initial bubble size(d0) was constructed to establish an efficient operation mode for the aeration process of non-Newtonian fluids. It was found that reducing the d0could significantly increase the oxygen mass transfer rate, resulting in an obvious decrease in the ventilation volume and impeller speed. When d0was regulated within 2-5 mm,an optimal kLa could be achieved, and 21% of power consumption could be saved, compared to the case of bubbles with a diameter of 10 mm.

VPO polymer β NH 4(VO 2)(HPO 4) was synthesized from the mixture of NH 4VO 3 and NH 4H 2PO 4 in aqueous acidic solution. This hydrogenphosphate vanadate crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with a=0.680 60(8) nm, b=0.925 70(5) nm, c=1.773 70(2) nm, V=1.117 5(3) nm 3, Z=8, D c=1.743 g·cm -3 , μ=88.54 cm -1 and R=0.051. The structure is built up from VO 5 square pyramid linked by trans vertices through the bridged oxygen atom to form an one dimensional isolated chain of {VO 2HPO 4} n- nunning along the a axis.

Frequency and associated factors of accommodation and non-strabismic binocular vision dysfunction among medical university students

AIM:To investigate the frequency and associated factors of accommodation and non-strabismic binocular vision dysfunction among medical university ***:Totally 158 student volunteers underwent routine vision examination in the optometry clinic of Guangxi Medical *** data were used to identify the different types of accommodation and nonstrabismic binocular vision dysfunction and to determine their *** analysis and logistic regression were used to examine the factors associated with these ***:The results showed that 36.71%of the subjects had accommodation and non-strabismic binocular vision issues,with 8.86%being attributed to accommodation dysfunction and 27.85%to binocular *** insufficiency(CI)was the most common abnormality,accounting for 13.29%.Those with these abnormalities experienced higher levels of eyestrain(χ2=69.518,Plinear correlations were observed between the difference of binocular spherical equivalent(SE)and the index of horizontal esotropia at a distance(r=0.231,P=0.004)and the asthenopia survey scale(ASS)score(r=0.346,P<0.001).Furthermore,the right eye's SE was inversely correlated with the convergence of positive and negative fusion images at close range(r=-0.321,P<0.001),the convergence of negative fusion images at close range(r=-0.294,P<0.001),the vergence facility(VF;r=-0.234,P=0.003),and the set of negative fusion images at far range(r=-0.237,P=0.003).Logistic regression analysis indicated that gender,age,and the difference in right and binocular SE did not influence the emergence of these ***:Binocular vision abnormalities are more prevalent than accommodation dysfunction,with CI being the most frequent *** binocular refractive disparity leads to more severe eyestrain symptoms.

根据中铝洛阳铝矿实际情况,结合放矿力学理论、室内相似试验和离散元数值模拟技术,从宏观和微观两方面深入地研究了矿仓放矿机制以及影响矿石流动性的主要因素。颗粒流数值模拟再现了放矿过程中矿石颗粒间以及颗粒与仓壁间相互作用力的动态变化过程。根据研究结果,设计了一种全新的仓内悬垂式振动助流器,并进行了现场试验,取得了很好的助流效果。它不但很好地改善了矿石流动性,解决了困扰洛阳铝矿几十年的矿仓堵塞、卡斗、起拱问题,优化了矿石和仓壁间的力学关系,减小了仓壁所受的动态接触压力,而且也大幅提高了矿仓放矿效率及生产安全系数,降低了工人的劳动强度。

Duchenne muscular dystrophy(DMD)is a severe neuromuscular disorder caused by mutations in the dystrophin gene,which encodes the essential protein *** genetic condition,affecting approximately 1 in 5000 male births worldwide(Birnkrant et al.,2018),is characterized by progressive muscle weakness and wasting,leading to premature death in the second or third decade of life(Farini et al.,2016).The absence of dystrophin protein causes instability in the sarcolemma,which predisposes individuals to myonecrosis and activation of inflammatory signaling ***,there is currently no effective cure for DMD,and glucocorticoid steroids are commonly used in clinical settings to delay symptom development(Merlini et al.,2003).

A Stable Open-Shell Conjugated Diradical Polymer with Ultra-High Photothermal Conversion Efficiency for NIR-Ⅱ Photo-Immunotherapy of Metastatic Tumor

Massive efforts have been concentrated on the advance of eminent near-infrared(NIR) photothermal materials(PTMs) in the NIR-Ⅱ window(1000–1700 nm), especially organic PTMs because of their intrinsic biological safety compared with inorganic PTMs. However, so far, only a few NIR-Ⅱresponsive organic PTMs was explored, and their photothermal conversion efficiencies(PCEs) still remain relatively low. Herein, donor–acceptor conjugated diradical polymers with open-shell characteristics are explored for synergistically photothermal immunotherapy of metastatic tumors in the NIR-Ⅱ window. By employing side-chain regulation, the conjugated diradical polymer TTB-2 with obvious NIR-Ⅱ absorption was developed, and its nanoparticles realize a record-breaking PCE of 87.7% upon NIR-Ⅱ light illustration. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate that TTB-2 nanoparticles show good tumor photoablation with navigation of photoacoustic imaging in the NIR-Ⅱ window, without any side-effect. Moreover, by combining with PD-1 antibody,the pulmonary metastasis of breast cancer is high-effectively prevented by the efficient photo-immunity effect. Thus, this study explores superior PTMs for cancer metastasis theranostics in the NIR-Ⅱ window, offering a new horizon in developing radical-characteristic NIR-Ⅱ photothermal materials.
