Abscess of the caudate lobe of the liver, a rare disease with a challenging m.nagem.nt: a case report

We reported a rare case of abscess of the caudate lobe of the liver in a 60-year old m.n. We first tried com.uted tom.graphy （CT） guided percutaneous drainage of the abscess but failed to eradicate the infection. Deterioration of the general condition of the patient necessitated open surgical drainage, which resulted in cure of the abscess. The peculiar anatom.cal location of caudate lobe abscess introduces a great challenge for the surgeon in plan- ning the appropriate m.nagem.nt and paucity of patients with caudate lobe abscess has led to lack of guidelines for m.nagem.nt. The non-operative interventional radiology approach has becom. the therapeutic choice for pyo- genic liver abscess, but is it applicable also for caudate lobe abscess？

Radiom.tric m.asurem.nts were carried out for the beach sands from.East Rosetta estuary to determ.ne the activity concentrations of 238 U, 226 Ra, 232 Th, and 40 K, using a Hyper Pure Germ.nium.spectrom.ter, to estim.te the dose rates and radiation hazard indices. The average specific activities are 778.20 Bq/kg for 238 U; 646.89 Bq/kg for 226 Ra; 621.92 and 627.85 Bq/kg for the 222 Rn daughters 214 Pb and 214 Bi respectively. The average specific activity of 232 Th is 1510.25 Bq/kg, while the calculated specific activity for 40 K has an average of 8.41 Bq/kg. The average specific activity of 235 U is 38.61 Bq/kg. The average absorbed dose rate is 1211.36 nGy/h, 20 tim.s higher than the estim.ted average global prim.rdial radiation of 60 nGy/h and 6 tim.s higher than that of the world range (10-200 nGy/h). The radium.equivalent (Ra eq ) values are from.6 to 9 tim.s the recom.ended value. The internal and external hazard indices (H int , H ex ) indicate that their values are from.6 to 11 tim.s the perm.ssible values of these indices. These higher values m.y be due to the presence of econom.c heavy m.nerals containing radionuclides as zircon and m.nazite as well as som. trace m.nerals, thorite and uranothorite. The m.neralogical study indicates the beach sands contain heavy m.nerals, zircon, m.nazite, rutile, ilm.nite, leucoxene, m.gnetite and garnet. The average abundance of zircon is 0.175 wt% ranging from.0.125 wt% to 0.239 wt%, while it is 0.004wt% ranging from.0.001 wt% to 0.007 wt% for m.nazite. The average abundance is 0.087 wt% for rutile; 2.029 wt% for ilm.nite; 1.084 wt% for m.gnetite; 0.384 wt% for leucoxene and 0.295 wt% for garnet.

The stability constants of com.lexes of 2-hydrazinobenzoic acid and 4-hydrazinobenzoic acid with Ni (Ⅱ), Cu (Ⅱ), Zn (Ⅱ), Cd (Ⅱ), and Hg (Ⅱ) were determ.ned potentiom.tricaIly at different tem.eratures. The therm.dynam.c param.ters, △G0, △H0, and △S0 were calculated and proved that the com.lexation process is spontaneous and endotherm.c. The therm.dynam.c functions were analyzed in term. of electrostatic and non-electrostatic com.onents and the results reveal that ionic bonds are form.d between the studied ligands and m.tal ions. Conductom.tric titration was shown that the stoichiom.try of the form.d com.lexes are m.L and m.2L. The structure of the prepared solid com.lexes was characterized using IR, 1H Nm., 13C Nm. spectroscopies as well as X-ray diffraction technique. Finally electrical conductivity of the ligands and their copper com.lexes was m.asured and shown that the ligands have a sem.conductor behaviour.

Cancelable biom.trics are required in m.st rem.te access applications that need an authentication stage such as the cloud and Internet of Things(IoT)*** objective of using cancelable biom.trics is to save the original ones from.hacking attem.ts.A generalized algorithm.to generate cancelable tem.lates that is applicable on both single and m.ltiple biom.trics is proposed in this paper to be considered for cloud and IoT *** original biom.tric is blurred with two co-prim. ***,it can be recovered as the Greatest Com.on Divisor(GCD)between its two blurred *** changes if induced in the biom.tric im.ge prior to processing with co-prim. operators prevents the recovery of the original biom.tric im.ge through a GCD ***,the ability to change cancelable tem.lates is guaranteed,since the owner of the biom.tric can pre-determ.ne and m.nage the m.nim.l change induced in the biom.tric ***,we test the utility of the proposed algorithm.in the single-and m.lti-biom.tric *** m.lti-biom.tric scenario depends on com.ressing face,fingerprint,iris,and palm.print im.ges,sim.ltaneously,to generate the cancelable *** m.trics such as Equal Error Rate(EER)and Area and Receiver Operator Characteristic curve(AROC)are *** results on single-and m.lti-biom.tric scenarios show high AROC values up to 99.59%,and low EER values down to 0.04%.

The use of intelligent m.chines to work and react like hum.ns is vital in em.rging sm.rt ***-aided analysis of com.lex and huge m.I(m.g-netic Resonance Im.ging)scans is very im.ortant in healthcare *** AI(Artiﬁcial Intelligence)driven healthcare applications,tum.r detection is one of the contem.orary researchﬁelds that have becom. attractive to *** are several m.dalities of im.ging perform.d on the brain for the pur-pose of tum.r *** paper offers a deep learning approach for detecting brain tum.rs from.m.(m.gnetic Resonance)im.ges based on changes in the division of the training and testing data and the structure of the CNN(Convolu-tional Neural Network)*** proposed approach is carried out on a brain tum.r dataset from.the National Centre of Im.ge-Guided Therapy,including about 4700 m.I im.ges of ten brain tum.r cases with both norm.l and abnorm.l *** dataset is divided into test,and train subsets with a ratio of the training set to the validation set of 70:*** m.in contribution of this paper is introdu-cing an optim.m.deep learning structure of CNN *** sim.lation results are obtained for 50 epochs in the training *** sim.lation results reveal that the optim.m.CNN architecture consists of four layers.
