GA-Stacking:A new Stacking-Based Ensemble Learning Method to Forecast the COVID-19 Outbreak

As a result of the increased number of COVID-19 cases,Ensemble Machine Learning(EML)would be an effective tool for combatting this pandemic *** ensemble of classifiers can improve the performance of single machine learning(ML)classifiers,especially stacking-based ensemble *** utilizes heterogeneous-base learners trained in parallel and combines their predictions using a meta-model to determine the final prediction ***,building an ensemble often causes the model performance to decrease due to the increasing number of learners that are not being properly ***,the goal of this paper is to develop and evaluate a generic,data-independent predictive method using stacked-based ensemble learning(GA-Stacking)optimized by aGenetic Algorithm(GA)for outbreak prediction and health decision aided ***-Stacking utilizes five well-known classifiers,including Decision Tree(DT),Random Forest(RF),RIGID regression,Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator(LASSO),and eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost),at its first *** also introduces GA to identify comparisons to forecast the number,combination,and trust of these base classifiers based on theMean Squared Error(MSE)as a fitness *** the second level of the stacked ensemblemodel,a Linear Regression(LR)classifier is used to produce the final *** performance of the model was evaluated using a publicly available dataset from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering,Johns Hopkins University,which consisted of 10,722 data *** experimental results indicated that the GA-Stacking model achieved outstanding performance with an overall accuracy of 99.99%for the three selected ***,the proposed model achieved good performance when compared with existing baggingbased *** proposed model can be used to predict the pandemic outbreak correctly and may be applied as a generic data-independent model 3946 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 to pre

Inclusion of CoTiO_(3) to ameliorate the re/dehydrogenation properties of the Mg–na–Al system

The Role of Electrocardiogram DETERMInE Score in Prediction of Coronary Artery Disease Severity

Background: A major cause of mortality and disability on a global scale is myocardial infarction (MI). These days, the most reliable way to detect and measure MI is via cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). Aims and Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of the Electrocardiogram DETERMInE Score in predicting the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients who have experienced an Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) & to assess improvements in left ventricular function at 6 months following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Subjects and Methods: This Observational cohort study was done at the Cardiology and Radiology department and cardiac surgery department, Al-Azhar university hospitals and Helwan University hospital. The study involved 700 cases who patients diagnosed with Acute Myocardial Infarction and fulfilled specific criteria for selection. Result: There was highly statistically significant relation between Myocardial infarction size and ECG Marker Score as mean infarct size elevated When the number of ECG markers increased. There was a highly statistically significant relation between myocardial infarct segments, myocardial infarction size and improvement of cardiac function 6 months post-CABG. Conclusion: The study found that larger myocardial infarctions corresponded with higher DETERMInE Scores. It concluded that an ECG-based score better estimates infarct size than LVEF alone. Additionally, there was a significant statistical correlation between the size and segmentation of myocardial infarction and better cardiac function six months after CABG.

Incidence and risk factors of post-phototherapy neonatal rebound hyperbilirubinemia

Background To determine the incidence and risk factors of post-phototherapy rebound hyperbilirubinemia because data about bilirubin rebound in neonates are lacking and few studies have concerned this condition. Methods A prospective observational study was conducted on 500 neonates with indirect hyperbilirubinemia who were treated according to standard guidelines. Total serum bilirubin (TSB) was measured at 24–36 h after phototherapy;significant bilirubin rebound (SBR) is considered as increasing TSB that needs reinstitution of phototherapy. Results A total of 124 (24.9%) neonates developed SBR with TSB increased by 3.4 (2.4–11.2) mg/dL after stopping pho-totherapy. Multiple logistic regression model revealed the following significant risk factors for rebound: low birth weight (B = 1.3,P ntensive phototherapy (B = 0.83, P= 0.03, OR 2.3), hemolysis (B = 1.2,P n level (B = 0.3,P = 0.001, OR 1.3), and short duration of conventional phototherapy (B = ? 1.2,P nclusions SBR should be considered in neonates with hemolysis, low birth weight, suspected sepsis, short duration of conventional phototherapy, exposure to intensive phototherapy, and relatively high discharge TSB. These risk factors should be taken into account when planning post-phototherapy follow-up.

A Comparative Analysis on Surgical Outcomes and Complications of Endoscopic and Open Vein Harvesting Techniques

Objective: The great saphenous vein (GSV) is commonly used as a conduit for grafting during CABG surgery, and open GSV harvesting (OVH), commonly used with long incision to expose the vein. However, endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) is an alternative approach, utilizing specialized instruments and small incisions to harvest the vein. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on a cohort of patients who underwent Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) requiring great saphenous vein (GSV) harvesting which was done by EVH or OVH procedures. Demographic variables, including age and gender, were assessed for both groups. Intraoperative variables such as the number of grafts, cardiopulmonary bypass time, X clamp time, and type of procedure were analyzed. Postoperative variables, including infection and bleeding rates, were also evaluated. Results: The study included 30 patients each undergoing Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) with need of great saphenous vein harvesting which was done by EVH and OVH. Demographic variables were well-matched between the two groups in terms of age, while a significant difference in gender distribution was observed. Obesity and smoking were more prevalent in the OVH group, and EVH was associated with a higher mean number of grafts compared to OVH. Conversion to an open technique occurred in a portion of the EVH cases, and infection rates did not significantly differ between the EVH and OVH groups. However, the incidence of postoperative bleeding was significantly higher in the EVH group. Conclusion: This study provides valuable insights into the demographic, intraoperative, and postoperative variables associated with EVH and OVH techniques. EVH demonstrated advantages in terms of reduced infection rates compared to OVH. However, the higher incidence of postoperative bleeding associated with EVH raises concerns about potential risks.

Experimental and computational chemical studies on the cationic furanylnicotinamidines as novel corrosion inhibitors in aqueous solutions

The corrosion inhibition action of three newly synthesized furanylnicotinamidine derivatives namely: 6-[5-{4(dimethylamino)phenyl}furan-2-yl]nicotinamidine(MA-1256), 6-[5-(4-chlorophenyl)furan-2-yl]nicotinamidine(MA-1266), and 6-[5-{4-(dimethylamino)phenyl}furan-2-yl]nicotinonitrile(MA-1250) on carbon steel(C-steel) was investigated in 1.0 mol·L-1 HCl solution by weight loss(WL), potentiodynamic polarization(PP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), and electrochemical frequency modulation(EFM)techniques. Morphological analysis was performed on the uninhibited and inhibited C-steel using atomic force microscope(AFM) and Infrared Spectroscopy(ATR-IR) methods. The effect of temperature was studied and discussed. Inspection of experimental results revealed that the inhibition efficiency(IE) increases with the incremental addition of inhibitors and with elevating the temperature of the acid media. The adsorption of furanylnicotinamidine derivatives on C-steel follows Temkin’s isotherm. PP studies indicated that the investigated compounds act as mixed-type inhibitors and showed that p-dimethylaminophenyl furanylnicotinamidine derivative(MA-1256) was the most efficient inhibitor among the other studied derivatives with IE reached(95%)at 21 × 10-6 mol·L-1. MA-1266 is highly soluble in aqueous solution and has non-toxicity profile with LC50 n 37 mg·L-1. Thus, MA-1266 can be a promising green corrosion inhibitor candidate with IE n 91% at 21× 10-6 mol·L-1. The experiments were coupled with computational chemical theories such as quantum chemical and molecular dynamic methods. The experimental results were in good agreement with the computational outputs.
