Wa.te ma.a.ement is crucia. due to the fa.t increa.e of huma. popula.ion, ca.sing a. increa.e in solid wa.te genera.ion which if not properly ma.a.ed ca.ses environmenta. problems. a.ound 57% of the wa.tes genera.ed from homes a.e ma.e up of green ma.eria. (fruits, vegeta.les…). Thus, reusing a.d recycling green wa.tes through composting is one wa. of reducing the wa.te loa. to la.dfills. Composting is the tra.sforma.ion of ra. orga.ic ma.eria.s into orga.ic soil a.endments tha. provide nutrients to crops a.d enha.ce the tilth, fertility, a.d productivity of soils. a.robic windrow composting system a. Sukomi Greensite fa.ility loca.ed a. Ka.a.tina.is performed, where ma.eria.s biodegra.e under controlled conditions to produce compost. However, a.sessment of the qua.ity of the compost is funda.enta. in order to determine its usa.es. Thus, regula. testing of physica., chemica. a.d biologica. pa.a.eters wa. performed for a.equa.e monitoring purposes. The ba.ic objective of this study wa. to determine the cha.a.teristics of the Leba.ese municipa. solid wa.te compost on a.yea.ly ba.is a.d compa.e these cha.a.teristics a.ongst the yea.s. Hence, ea.h pa.a.eter wa. tested a.d compa.ed to the BNQ interna.iona. Ca.a.ia. sta.da.ds for proper cla.sifica.ion of the compost a.d a.equa.e identifica.ion of its usa.es. The prelimina.y da.a.obta.ned were sta.istica.ly dia.nosed through principa. component a.a.ysis by Spa.v55 softwa.e. a.l the da.a.reflected the norma. content va.ue of the studied pa.a.eters with minor differences between the yea.s except for yea. 2007 which demonstra.ed higher levels of Pota.sium, Phospha.e, Lea. a.d Ca.mium. The cha.a.teristics of the compost ena.led it to be used a. a.soil a.endment on a.l types of a.ricultura. a.d la.dsca.e commodities a. the a.equa.e dosa.es a.d proper timing. Two hundred a.d fifty single first-order a.rhenius rea.tions a.e simula.ed to genera.e S2 pyrogra.s a. three hea.ing ra.es 25,15,a.d 5°C·*** a.tiva.ion energy(E)a.d pre-exponentia. fa.tor(a.of the rea.tions simula.ed follow a.long-esta.lished trend of those va.ia.le va.ues displa.ed by sha.es a.d *** cha.a.teristics of the tra.sforma.ion fra.tion(TF)profiles(product genera.ion window tempera.ures)of the simula.ed single rea.tions a.e compa.ed to the TF profiles of recorded sha.e pyrogra.s genera.ed by multiple rea.tions with different E-a.va.ues lying nea. the defined E-a.*** simila.ities a.d differences a.e observed between the TF profile va.ues of the two *** simila.ities support the sprea. of E-a.va.ues involved in sha.e pyrogra. best *** differences a.e most likely expla.ned by the complexity of the multiple kerogen first-order a.d second-order rea.tions contributing to the recorded sha.e pyrogra.s versus the simplicity a.d crispness of the single first-order rea.tions *** results a.so justify the va.idity of using the previously described“va.ia.le E-a.pyrogra.-fitting method”of multi-hea.ing-ra.e sha.e pyrogra.s ena.ling optimizers to choose multiple rea.tions from a. unlimited ra.ge of E-a.*** contra.t,further doubt is ca.t on the va.idity of the consta.t-a.pyrogra.-fitting method used by the Ea.y%Ro technique,in tha. a.distribution of rea.tions with a.single a.va.ue is unlikely to represent the complex va.iety of kerogen ma.era.s observed in sha.e *** profiles genera.ed by the va.ia.le E-a.pyrogra.-fitting method lie close to the esta.lished E-a.trend a.d a.e likely to provide more rea.istic TF genera.ion window tempera.ures tha. TF profiles genera.ed by the consta.t-a.pyrogra.-fitting method.
