Investigation of Different Characters of Stomata on Three Cocoa Clones with Resistance Level Difference to VSD （Vascular Streak dieback） Disease

The development of the science of cytology and genetics, particularly on cell structure and function provided a breakthrough for breeders and allowed for early selection. Character of stomata density on some commodities was reported as important factor to determine the disease resistance. The research was done for getting information about the differences in the stomata characters influenced on the level of Vascular Streak dieback (VSD) resistance on cocoa. The research was conducted in the Laboratory of Genetics, Gadjah Mada University and leaves samples were conducted in Kendeng Lembu Gardens, PTPN XII. The research used a split plot design with three factors included the type of clones with different levels of VSD disease resistance (PA 191, BL 703 and GS 29), leaf position (top, middle and base) and leaf age (young and old). Stomata characters included number of stomata, stomata opening width, stomata wide and stomata diameter were observed. The results showed that the stomata characters in three cacao genotypes with different resistance levels indicated a difference in number of stomata, stomata size, stomata opening width, stomata wide and stomata diameter. Stomata number, stomata opening width and stomata diameter on PA 191 (resistance clone) were lower than the susceptible clones (BL 703 dan GS 29). The lowest of number and diameter stomata on the base position on the old leaves tissues. Number of stomata, stomata opening width and stomata diameter were estimated role in mechanism of VSD resistance and that were expected could be used as criteria selection to VSD resistance.

Online Shopping: What Factors Determine Consumers to Buy?

This study analyzed factors influencing consumers in the process of making a decision in online shopping. The findings could inspire suggestions for online marketers in developing either media or infrastructures accordingly. The variables in the study involved product information, price, service, transaction safety, environment, age, gender, educational background, and income rate as independent variables, while the process of purchasing decision served as a dependent variable. Primary data were gathered in 10 locations within Jabodetabek areas involving 270 respondents which were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The study revealed that price, information product, and service as significant variables influencing consumers in online shopping. Service became the most important factor for marketers to be considered as it emerged as the most dominant variable influencing the process of making a decision in online shopping.

Acceleration Factors in the Improvement of Public Welfare Sangiran

Efforts to preserve the cultural heritage are manifestation to represent the work of the ancestors of the past so that people can now take advantage of in accordance with destining. There are at least four major aspects of a cultural heritage can be appreciated to the public, as art, as an economic resource (for tourism and improve the welfare of the people in the region), as a source of information as knowledge and social fulfillment. This study aims to determine: (1) acceleration factors in the improvement of social welfare Sangiran; and (2) modernization of infrastructure and the role of maximum revenue acceleration in accelerating improvements in public welfare in the Sangiran with the integrated approach of the factors increasing human development, community empowerment, provision of credit banking and employment opportunities. This research is a survey of the Sangiran area using data collection methods of documentation, interviews, and questionnaires. The population in this study is people in the Sangiran region, Central Java. This study uses cluster sampling with sampling. Cluster sampling is a probability sampling extracted by certain groups with similar characteristics. In this study, samples were grouped according to the residence of respondents. The sample used in this study was 500 respondents. The analysis technique used is structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of this study show that: (1) the factors of human development, community empowerment, access to bank credit and employment opportunities to accelerate the improvement of social welfare in the Sangiran area; and (2) the acceleration of the increase in welfare Sangiran region can be achieved by an integrated approach of the factors increasing human development, community empowerment, bank lending and increase employment opportunities through increased infrastructure modernization and maximum income.

Impertinent uses of moldboard plows for tillage on wetland paddy soils,as far more than a century,caused damage to its important hardpan layer of 20-30 cm soil depth that led to some extent,the decrease of rice production than it should have *** current study has been carried out to repair that damage to regain the“lost”of paddy yields by using the designed flat-symmetric plow that has a lift angle of 29°-30°.It is towed by a hand tractor of 12 horsepower(HP)at a travel speed of 1.11 m/s and a working depth of 10 cm in three blocks of a wetland paddy field in Bandung Sub-district of West-Java,*** results observed from the formed plow sole of 10-15 cm depth underneath after 3rd-time operations of the plow on the same track,indicated that there was a relatively small decrease of moisture content(MC)around 0.182%,as well as increases of cone index(CI)and bulk density(BD)around 0.172%and 0.171%,*** plow was able to maintain,generate and stimulate the formation of hardpan right underneath the plow *** was due to the improvement of hardpan physical-mechanical properties and would be more significant after frequent tillage using that ***,there is a chance to develop a tillage method in the development of an ideal wetland paddy cultivation system throughout Indonesian wetland paddy fields.

Feeding Effect of Different Levels of Agricultural and Food Waste on Growth Performance and Economics in Pig Production

This study was undertaken with the objectives to determine the feeding effect of different levels of agricultural and food waste on growth performance and cost effectiveness in pig *** study was conducted at Manokwari regency,West Papua Province,*** agricultural and food industry by-products used were collected from two traditional markets,five restaurants and 15 small-scale food *** materials used as ration were proximally analyzed to determine their nutritional *** daily gain(ADG),feed consumption and feed conversion ratio(FCR)were taken to determine the pigs’*** cost using local market prices was estimated in knowing the ability of agricultural waste product and food industry to substitute commercial *** was used to analyse the *** result of this research indicates that the usage of agricultural and food industries’wastes as the alternative components of pigs’feed to substitute the commercial ones does not reduce the pigs’performance and *** three rations that use agricultural and food industry wastes,ration with the combination of 25% waste and 75% commercial feed had the best *** the other hand,a mixture of 75% waste and 25% commercial feed is the most economic one,and able to reduce the cost of feeding up to 35.86%.

In search of biofuel as sustainable energy alternatives for anticipating the gradually decreasing fossil fuel that surely would affect engine performances of industrial machinery as a whole,the research herewith was aimed to confirm that oil obtained from compressing Sunan pecan seeds(Reutalis trisperma)is the suitable unedible raw oil material to be *** carrying out esterification and transesterification processes,the oil became biofuel which consists of various forms of long-chains components of fatty acid methyl ester(FAME).To make it usable for diesel engine,steps of further processes have been done,i.e.,purification and fractionation to produce FAME of single fatty acid components as well as selecting them by PROMETHEE *** result showed that FAME with single unfractionated fatty acid components was closed to diesel oil characteristics and so the most appropriate biofuel for internal combustion engine.
