n this work, we present synthesis of the compounds trans-[Ru(NH3)4L(bpa)]2+ where L is pyridine ligands: pyridine (py), isonicotinamide (isn), 4-acetylpyridine (4-acpy) and 4-picoline (4-pic) and 1,2-bis (4-pyridyl) ethane (bpa), their characterization by UV-visible spectroscopy and electrochemical properties. This series shows intense bands in the region between 400 and 515 nm, allocated bands charge transfer (MLCT), the influence of substituents on the pyridine ring (4-acpy and isn), and the interaction between the ligand and the metal, causing a second MLCT band, which is lighter and has more energy. The compound is characterized by spectroscopy by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The displacement observed in the symmetrical stretching of νs(CCN) group in the complex compared with the νs(CCN) group in the free ligand is indicative of coordination of the pyridine group to the Ruthenium (II) metallic center. The electrochemical data (cyclic voltammetry) show that reversibility criteria are well defined and formal Ef potential, indicating the influence of the pyridine ring substituent.

This work presents the synthesis and characterization of compounds derived from the ruthenium transition metal with the nitrogenous ligand 4-aminopy- ridine (4-ampy). The synthesized compounds were characterized by FTIRmed spectroscopy and TG-DTA thermal analysis. For the cytotoxic evaluation of ruthenium compounds, a 66.0 μM aqueous solution containing the complex and the study of data observed in the biological assessment was performed using variance (ANOVA) analysis, followed by Tukey’s multiple comparisons test. Differences between treatments were considered significant when the p-value was less than 0.05 (p 3(4-ampy)(H2O)2]·1/2H2O, which, due to the low solubility in an aqueous medium, was modified to increase its solubility for biological tests. The analysis of the spectra in the medium infrared region (FTIR) for the complex [Ru(Cl)3(4-ampy)(H2O)2]·1/2H2O, shows displacements of the bands observed at 1625 - 1566 cm﹣1 ν(C=C) e (C=N), indicating that coordination to the metallic center occurred by this group. Band displacements were observed in the modified Ru (III) complex, which suggests the presence of the 4-ampy ligand and the coordination by the groups ν(C=C) and (C=N) after the modification. In recent years, researchers worldwide have concentrated on obtaining, developing, and modifying drugs used as chemotherapeutic agents. The evaluation of the cell viability of the modified Ru (III) compound demonstrated cytotoxic effects in the MCF-7 cell line (15.33% ± DP 2.7) but did not affect normal cells (PBMC), which reflects the potential for possible applications.

In this work, the isonicotinamide was coordinated to the Cobalt ion in oxidation state +2. The relevance of this work is the investigation of the in vitro bactericidal potential of the synthesized complex when tested in Gram-positive and negative bacteria strains. This study is motivated by the need to obtain new materials that have antibiotic properties and that, in the future, may become an effective drug against resistant bacteria. A new coordination compound of Cobalt and isonicotinamide, [Co(H2O)(isn)3](BF4)2, was synthesized and described. The compound was characterized by thermoanalytical techniques TG-DTG and TG-DSC, where it was possible to propose the mechanism of thermal decomposition. Through the spectroscopy in the region of the medium infrared (FTIR), it is possible to infer the site of connection between isonicotinamide and metal. The bactericidal activity of [Co(H2O)(isn)3](BF4)2, CoCl2 and free Isonicotinamide were tested for the bacteria Streptococcus mutans (Gram+) and Escherichia coli (Gram−) and the synthesized compound showed to be sensitive for both bacteria.

Studies of coordinated compounds containing ruthenium (Ru2+ and Ru3+) have shown very effective in vitro results for the treatment of cancer and neglected diseases such as leishmaniasis. In this paper, we present the synthesis of the compound [Ru(Cl)3(H2O)2(gly)], which was characterized by spectroscopic (Ultraviolet-visibleand infrared) and thermal analysis (Thermogravimetry/Derived Thermogravimetry and Thermogravimetry/Differential Thermal Analysis). The analysis of the compound in the Ultraviolet-visibleregion showed a 290 nm band λmax (ε= 1.685 × 103 L·cm-1·mol-1), attributed to the ligand metal charge transfer (LMCT). The spectroscopy (IR) showed major vibrational bands at δa (-COO-) 1664 cm-1, δs (-COO-) 1388 cm-1, δs () 1571 cm-1 and δs (CCN) 889 cm-1. The thermal analysis by TG/DTG and TG-DTA indicated that the complex has five consecutive stages of decomposition: at 115°C (TG = 12.18%;Calculated = 11.32%) H2O (coordinating water), exothermic peaks at 230°C, 307°C, 440°C and 463°C due to oxidative decomposition of glycine, followed by the formation of RuClO residue at 665°C (TG = 41.11%;Calculated = 40.81%). The thermal characterization suggested the stoichiometry of the complex [RuCl3(H2O)2(gly)]. The antileishmanial capacity of this compound was also evaluated and the results indicated a 31% decrease in the parasitic infection of macrophages and a 1.5 to 3 fold reduction in the number of parasites per cell after treatment with 100 μg/mL of the complex. These results support the possible use of this compound as a therapeutic alternative against medical and veterinary parasites.

One of the conventional ways to improve the mechanical behavior of soils is to mix them with cementing agents such as cement, lime and fly ash. Recently, introduction to alternative materials or sub-products that can be adopted to improve the soil strength is of paramount importance. Therefore, the present study aims to investigate the effects of porosity(h), dry unit weight(gd) of molding, cement content(C)and porosity/volumetric cement content ratio(h/Civ) or void/cement ratio on the unconfined compressive strength(quor UCS) of silty soileroof tile waste(RT) mixtures. Soil samples are molded into four different dry unit weights(i.e. 13 kN/m^3, 13.67 kN/m^3, 14.33 kN/m^3 and 15 kN/m^3) using 3%, 6% and 9%cement and 5%, 15% and 30% RT. The results show that with the addition of cement, the strength of the RT esoil mixtures increases in a linear manner. On the other hand, the addition of RT decreases quof the samples at a constant percentage of cement, and the decrease in porosity can increase qu. A dosage equation is derived from the experimental data using the porosity/volumetric cement content ratio(h/C_(iv)) where the control variables are the moisture content, crushed tile content, cement content and porosity.

In the present study,unconfined compressive strength(qu)values of two lime-treated soils(soil 1 and 2)with curing times of 28 d,90 d and 360 d were *** influence of void/lime ratio was represented by the porosity/volumetric lime content ratio(η/Liv)as the main parameter.η/Liv represents the volume of void influenced by compaction effort and lime *** evolution of qu was analyzed for each soil using the coefficient of determination as the optimization *** at providing adjustments to the mechanical resistance values,the η/Liv parameter was modified to η/LivC using the adjustment exponent C(to make qu-η/Liv variation rates compatible).The results show that with the decrease of η/*** increases potentially and the optimized values of C were *** mechanical resistance data show similar trends between qu and η/LivC for the studied silty soil-ground lime mixtures,which were cured at ambient temperature(23±2)℃ with different curing times of 28-360 ***,optimized equations were presented using the normalized strengths and the proposed optimization model,which show 6% error and 95% acceptability on average.
