BACKGRoUND The proficiency of nursing professionals in the infection prevention and control(IPC)practices is a core component of the strategy to mitigate the challenge of healthcare associated *** To test knowledge of nurses working in intensive care units(ICU)in South Asia and Middle East countries on IPC *** An online self-assessment questionnaire based on various aspects of IPC practices was conducted among nurses over three *** A total of 1333 nurses from 13 countries completed the *** average score was 72.8%and 36%of nurses were proficient(mean score>80%).43%and 68.3%of respondents were from government and teaching hospitals,respectively.79.2%of respondents worked inosed ***,a significant association was found between the knowledge and expertise of nurses,the country’s per-capita income,type of hospitals,accreditation and teaching status of hospitals and type of *** in high-and upper-middleincome countries(β=4.89,95%CI:3.55 to 6.22)was positively associated,and the teaching status of the hospital(β=-4.58,95%CI:-6.81 to-2.36)was negatively associated with the knowledge score among *** There is considerable variation in knowledge among nurses working in *** like income status of countries,public vs private and teaching status of hospitals and experience are independently associated with nurses’knowledge of IPC practices.

Noise levels inside the coaches of Greater Cairo tunnel metro, line 3 tunnel

This paper investigates the noise inside a metro coach running through the most recent tunnel of *** study focuses on the effects of alignment profiles on the A-weighted noise *** the latest line has not been studied yet,noise levels inside the old lines attracted the attention of researchers due to their importance as the first mass transit system in *** that windows are usually kept open,measurements were conducted inside the empty cabin at the end of the train with open windows according to ISo 3381:*** showed that noise emissions inside the running coaches are high and do not follow either international or general national legislation,which presents health hazards for drivers and *** intelligibility is required for train radio units and driver consoles for voice communications,which provides a safe working environment for the train *** present study reveals that tight curves mainly contribute to high *** noise levels are further raised by the reflective surface of the tunnel with a circular cross-section and the unballasted ***,the noise level is affected by the location of the coach and window conditions(open/close)to some extent.

occult hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection,by definition,is a state in which infection with this virus does not manifest with the conventional diagnostic laboratory criteria reserved for the obvious form of HBV *** a result,occult HBV infection is commonly a surprise finding discovered accidently during the evaluation of other apparent liver diseases,such as hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and,more importantly,their evolution into life-threatening hepatocellular *** infection with HCV and occult HBV is rarely considered when assessing these more obvious conditions,and in an attempt to offer a better understanding of this phenomenon,this study attempted to shed some light onto the uniqueness of occult HBV infection by addressing the natural history of HBV and HCV infections,as well as non-alcoholic fatty liver *** was carried out by taking into account the exclusive integration process undertaken by the HBV genome into infected host hepatocytes,with consideration given to conditions which afford reactivation of the occult infection and stress on the molecular mechanisms that underlie occult HBV ***,the clinical outcome of occult HBV infection and its relation to hepatocellular carcinoma is analyzed.
