Improving Crude Oil Flow Using Graphene Flakes under an Applied Electric Field

Graphene flakes(GF)have been prepared and assessed as a material for improving flow in oil pipelines under the effect of an electric *** particular,different amounts of GFs have been considered in order to determine the optimal flow *** GFs were prepared from graphite foam,derived from the dehydration of sugar with a particle size of 500-600μm,which was dispersed in ethanol and exfoliated in a ball mill under a shear *** 15 h of exfoliation,sonication,and subsequent high-speed centrifugation at 3000 rpm,irregular-shaped GFs of 50-140 nm were produced and characterized using scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffractometry,atomic force microscopy,and Raman *** prepared graphene sheets have been found to display excellent morphology and good graphitic *** on flow improvement were conducted using the central composite rotatable design method for three parameters:stimulation time(15,30,45,and 60 s),applied voltage(150,170,200,and 220 V),and concentration of the GFs(0,100,200,and 400 mg/L).The optimal conditions for improved crude oil flow were then determined using the STATISTICA and WinQSB software *** results have confirmed the effectiveness of the use of the prepared GFs as a flow improver for crude oil,where the flow improvement is essentially a result of a reduction in viscosity and suppression of friction in the crude oil system.

The Antibacterial Activities of Copper Oxide Nanoparticles Synthesized Using Laser Ablation in Different Surfactants against Streptococcus mutans

Copper oxide nanoparticles(CuO NPs)were synthesised with laser ablation of a copper sheet immersed in deionized water(DW),cetrimonium bromide(CTAB),and sodium dodecyl sulphate(SDS),*** target was irradiated with a pulsed Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm,600 mJ,a pulse duration of 10 ns,and a repetition rate of 5 *** CuO NPs colloidal were analyzed using UV–Vis spectroscopy,the Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectrometer,zeta potential(ZP),X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscope(TEM)and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM).The absorption spectra of CuO NPs colloidal showed peaks at 214,215 and 220 nm and low-intensity peaks at 645,650 and 680 nm for SDS,CTAB and DW,*** NPs’colloidal results are(−21.6,1.2,and 80 mV)for negatively,neutrally,and positively charged SDS,DW,and CTAB,*** XRD pattern of the NPs revealed the presence of CuO phase planes(110)(111),(20-2)and(11-1).The TEM images revealed nearly spherical NPs,with sizes ranging from 10–90,10–50,and 10–210 nm for CuO NPs mixed with DW,SDS and CTAB,*** images of all the synthesized samples illustrate the formation of spherical nanostructure and large particles are *** CuO NPs were tested for antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans by using the well diffusion *** this method,CuO NPs prepared in DW at a concentration of 200μg/mL showed a greater inhibition zone against Streptococcus mutans.

BACKGROUND Picky eating is a commonly observed behavior among children globally,negatively impacting their physical and mental *** common characteristics distinguish peaky eaters,including food selectivity,food neophobia,and food avoidance,there is no clear definition to assess this *** to the unavailability of data regarding picky eating,it wasn’t easy to estimate its *** To develop a regional protocol to help healthcare professionals identify and manage mild and moderate picky eating *** A virtual roundtable discussion was held in April 2021 to gather the opinions of seven pediatricians and two pediatric dietitians from eight Middle Eastern countries who had great experience in the management of picky *** discussion covered different topics,including clearly defining mild and moderate picky eating,identifying the role of diet fortification in these cases,and the possibility of developing a systematic approach to diet *** The panel identified picky eating as consuming an inadequate amount and variety of foods by rejecting familiar and unfamiliar *** of the time,moderate picky eating cases had micronutrient deficiencies with over-or undernutrition;the mild cases only showed inadequate food consumption and/or poor diet *** attention to the organic red flags like growth faltering and development delay and behavioral red flags,including food fixation and anticipatory gagging,will help healthcare professionals evaluate the picky eaters and the caregivers to care for their *** dietary supplementation and commercial food fortification play an important role in picky eating,they were no benefit in the Middle *** The panel agreed that food fortification through a food-first approach and oral nutritional supplements would be the best for Middle Eastern *** recommendations would facilitate identifying and managing picky-eating children in the Middle East.

Glassy behaviour of random field Ising spins on Bethe lattice in external magnetic field

The thermodynamics and the phase diagram of random field Ising model （RFIM） on Bethe lattice are studied by using a replica trick. This lattice is placed in an external magnetic field （B）. A Gaussian distribution of random field （hi） with zero mean and variance （hi2 = H2RF is considered. The free-energy （F）, the magnetization （M） and the order parameter （q） are investigated for several values of coordination number （z）. The phase diagram shows several interesting behaviours and presents tricritical point at critical temperature Tc = J/k and when HRF = 0 for finite z. The free-energy （F） values increase as T increases for different intensities of random field （HRE） and finite z. The internal energy （U） has a similar behaviour to that obtained from the Monte Carlo simulations. The ground state of magnetization decreases as the intensity of random field HRF increases, The ferromagnetic （FM） paramagnetic （PM） phase boundary is clearly observed only when z →∞. While FM PM-spin glass （SG） phase boundaries are present for finite z. The magnetic susceptibility （X） shows a sharp cusp at Tc in a small random field for finite z and rounded different peaks on increasing HRF.

Glassy phase and thermodynamics for random field Ising model on spherical lattice in magnetic field

Phase diagram and thermodynamic parameters of the random field Ising model （RFIM） on spherical lattice are studied by using mean field theory. This lattice is placed in an external magnetic field （B）. The random field （hi） is assumed to be Gaussian distributed with zero mean and a variance （hi2） = HRF2. The free energy （F）, the magnetization （M） and the order parameter （q） are calculated. The ferromagnetic （FM） spin-glass （SG） phase transition is clearly observed. The critical temperature （Tc） is computed under a critical intensity of random field HRF = V/2/πJ. The phase transition from FM to paramagnetic （PM） occurs at TC = J/k in the absence of magnetic field. The critical temperature decreases as HRF increases in the phase boundary of FM-to-SG. The magnetic susceptibility （X） shows a sharp cusp at TC and the specific heat （C） has a singularity in small random field. The internal energy （U） has a similar behaviour to that obtained from the Monte Carlo simulation.

Impact of lifestyle interventions on pathogenesis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

This editorial builds on the article titled“Establishment and validation of an adherence prediction system for lifestyle interventions in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease”by Zeng et *** carried out a critical examination of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)pathogenesis and how lifestyle interventions could facilitate disease resolution,particularly highlighting that non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)is a severe form of *** discussion details that weight loss is a pivotal factor in disease outcomes:A 3%-5%reduction is enough for resolution in 50%of non-obese individuals,while a 7%-10%reduction achieves similar benefits in obese individuals,as demonstrated by magnetic resonance ***,the editorial underscores that such lifestyle changes are instrumental not only in resolving NAFLD but also in reversing hepatic steatosis and *** insights,derived from the research,emphasize the critical role of personalized lifestyle modifications in halting the progression of NAFLD to NASH and even reversing fibrosis,thus offering a template for effective patient management.

Improved Software Implementation for Montgomery Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem

The last decade witnessed rapid increase in multimedia and other applications that require transmitting and protecting huge amount of data streams *** such applications,a high-performance cryptosystem is compulsory to provide necessary security *** curve cryptosystem(ECC)has been introduced as a considerable ***,the usual sequential implementation of ECC and the standard elliptic curve(EC)form cannot achieve required performance ***,the widely used Hardware implementation of ECC is costly option and may be not *** research aims to develop a high-performance parallel software implementation for *** achieve this,many experiments were performed to examine several factors affecting ECC performance including the projective coordinates,the scalar multiplication algorithm,the elliptic curve(EC)form,and the parallel *** ECC performance was analyzed using the different factors to tune-up them and select the best choices to increase the speed of the *** results illustrated that parallel Montgomery ECC implementation using homogenous projection achieves the highest performance level,since it scored the shortest time delay for ECC *** addition,results showed thatNAF algorithm consumes less time to perform encryption and scalar multiplication operations in comparison withMontgomery ladder and *** multi-threading technique was adopted to implement ECC computations in *** proposed multithreaded Montgomery ECC implementation significantly improves the performance level compared to previously presented parallel and sequential implementations.

There are a variety of Internet of Things(IoT)applications that cover different aspects of daily *** of these applications has different criteria and sub-criteria,making it difficult for the user to *** requires an automated approach to select IoT applications by considering *** paper presents a novel recommendation system for presenting applications on the ***,using the analytic hierarchy process(AHP),a multi-layer architecture of the criteria and sub-criteria in IoT applications is *** architecture is used to evaluate and rank IoT *** a result,finding the weight of the criteria and subcriteria requires a metaheuristic *** this paper,a sequential quadratic programming algorithm is used to find the optimal weight of the criteria and sub-criteria *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first study to use an analysis of metaheuristic criteria and sub-criteria to design an IoT application recommendation *** evaluations and comparisons in the experimental results section show that the proposed method is a comprehensive and reliable model for the construction of an IoT applications recommendation system.

Proactive Load Balancing Mechanism for Fog Computing Supported by Parked Vehicles in IoV-SDN

Internet of Vehicles(IoV)is a new style of vehicular ad hoc network that is used to connect the sensors of each vehicle with each other and with other vehicles’sensors through the *** sensors generate different tasks that should be analyzed and processed in some given period of *** send the tasks to the cloud servers but these sending operations increase bandwidth consumption and *** computing is a simple cloud at the network edge that is used to process the jobs in a short period of time instead of sending them to cloud computing *** some situations,fog computing cannot execute some tasks due to lack of ***,in these situations it transfers them to cloud computing that leads to an increase in latency and bandwidth occupation ***,several fog servers may be fuelled while other servers are *** implies an unfair distribution of *** this research study,we shall merge the software defined network(SDN)with IoV and fog computing and use the parked vehicle as assistant fog computing *** can improve the capabilities of the fog computing layer and help in decreasing the number of migrated tasks to the cloud *** increases the ratio of time sensitive tasks that meet the *** addition,a new load balancing strategy is *** works proactively to balance the load locally and globally by the local fog managers and SDN controller,*** simulation experiments show that the proposed system is more efficient than VANET-Fog-Cloud and IoV-Fog-Cloud frameworks in terms of average response time and percentage of bandwidth consumption,meeting the deadline,and resource utilization.

Immobilization of Co(Ⅱ) Ions in Cement Pastes and Their Effects on the Hydration Characteristics

The immobilization of Co（Ⅱ） in various cement matrices was investigated by using the solidification/stabilization（S/S） *** different cement pastes used in this study were ordinary Portland cement in absence and presence of water reducing-and water repelling-admixtures as well as blended cement with *** ratios of Co（Ⅱ） were used（0.5% and 1.0% by weight of the solid binder）.The hydration characteristics of the used cement pastes were tested via the determination of the combined water content,phase composition and compressive strength at different time intervals up to 180 *** degree of immobilization of the added heavy metal ions was evaluated by determining the leached ion concentration after time intervals extended up to 180 *** leachability experiments were carried out by using two modes：the static and the semi-dynamic leaching *** was noticed that the concentration of the leached Co2＋ ions in the static mode of leachability was lower than the solubility of its hydroxide in all the investigated cement pastes.
