Dear Editor,Phosphogypsum(PG)is the main by-product generated during phosphoric acid production from mineral *** contains mainly calcium sulfate dehydrate(CaSO4:2H2O),phosphate,fuoride,heavy metals,and radionuclides(Elloumi et al.,2015).Around 170×10^6 t PG is produced annually worldwide,although PG management is an environ-mental concern in several countries.

Carbon catabolite repression(CCR)plays a key role in many physiological and adaptive responses in a broad range of microorganisms that are commonly associated with eukaryotic *** a mixture of different carbon sources is available,CCR,a global regulatory mechanism,inhibits the expression and activity of cellular processes associated with utilization of secondary carbon sources in the presence of the preferred carbon *** is known to be executed by completely different mechanisms in different bacteria,yeast,and *** addition to regulating catabolic genes,CCR also appears to play a key role in the expression of genes involved in plant–microbe ***,we present a detailed overview of CCR mechanisms in various *** highlight the role of CCR in beneficial as well as deleterious plant–microbe interactions based on the available *** addition,we explore the global distribution of known regulatory mechanisms within bacterial genomes retrieved from public repositories and within metatranscriptomes obtained from different plant *** integrating the available literature and performing targeted meta-analyses,we argue that CCR-regulated substrate use preferences of microorganisms should be considered an important trait involved in prevailing plant–microbe interactions.

Surface Electromyography(sEMG)plays a key role in many applications such as control of Human-Machine Interfaces(HMI)and neuromusculoskeletal *** has strongly nonlinear relations to joint kinematics and reflects the subjects’intention in moving their *** relations have been traditionally examined by either integrated biomechanics and multi-body dynamics or gesture-based classification ***,these methods have drawbacks that limit their *** from them,joint kinematics can be continuously reconstructed from sEMG via estimation approaches,for instance,the Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs).The Comparison of different ANNs used in different studies is difficult,and in many cases,*** current study focuses on fairly evaluating four types of ANN over the same dataset and conditions in proportional and simultaneous estimation of 15 hand joint angles from 10 sEMG *** presented ANNs are Feedforward,Cascade-Forward,Radial Basis Function(RBFNN),and Generalized Regression(GRNN).Each ANN is applied to its special parametric *** the methods efficiently solved the regression problem of the complex multi-input multi-output *** RBFNN has the best performance over the others with a 79.80%mean correlation coefficient over all joints,and its accuracy reaches as high as 92.67%in some ***,the highest accuracy over individual joints is 93.46%,which is achieved via the *** good accuracy suggests that the proposed approaches can be used as alternatives to the previously adopted ones and can be employed effectively to synchronously control multi-degrees of freedom HMI and for general multi-joint kinematics estimation purposes.

This paper deals with the design of a nonlinear observer for sensorless induction motor control. Based upon the circle criterion approach, a nonlinear observer is designed to estimate pertinent but unmeasurable state variables of the considered induction machine for sensorless control purpose. The observer gain matrices are computed as a solution of linear matrix inequalities(LMI) that ensure the stability conditions of the state observer error dynamics in the sense of Lyapunov concepts. Measured and estimated state variables can be exploited to perform a state feedback control of the machine system. The simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach for nonlinear observer design.

In vivo study of pomegranate(Punica granatum) peel extract efficacy against Giardia lamblia in infected experimental mice

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of pomegranate(Punica granatum) peel extract as an alternative treatment on the white laboratory mice against ***: Experimental animals were divided into five groups, including Group A:control(infected untreated), Group B: infected and fed with pectin 7 days before infection, Group C: infected and fed with pectin starting from 7th day of infection,Group D: infected and fed with pomegranate peel extract 7 days before infection, and Group E: infected and fed with pomegranate peel extract starting from 7th day of ***: Results from this study revealed that the prevention rate in the experimental groups reached approximately 50% by the 10 th day of using pomegranate peel ***, stool cyst counts of groups showed a significant reduction in the shedding of cysts approximately 75.6% by day 20 post-infection. ELISA test showed a reduction in Giardia antigen in the stools of the experimental groups which received pomegranate peel extract. The cure rate of these groups was approximately 97.4% by 28 th day of ***: Our present findings indicated that the pomegranate peel extract proved to be valuable in prevention and treatment of Giardia lamblia infection. Further studies are required to determine the effective dose of pomegranate peel extract against Giardia lamblia infection.

The stabilization problem for a class of linear continuous-time systems with time-varying non differentiable delay is solved while imposing positivity in closed-loop. In particular, the synthesis of state-feedback controllers is studied by giving sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). The obtained results are then extended to systems with non positive delay matrix by applying a memory controller. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by using numerical examples.

This research tests the effect of introducing turbulators of a new type into a circular tube heat exchanger under a constant and uniform longitudinal heatﬂux condition.A 45 mm diameter copper tube with a length of 1,350 mm is utilized with a solid disk being inserted inside the tube,which consists of three sections,each one containing two *** slot is cut at a 45 degree angle toward the inner tube surface,which results in diverging theﬂow toward the inner hot tube surface in order to enhance the heat transfer *** is considered as the workingﬂuid with Prandtl number *** Reynolds number spans the interval from 6,000–13,500,which indicates that the consideredﬂow is *** heat exchanger performance is studied and analyzed in terms of average Nusselt *** experimental results show that the Nusselt number value is directly proportional to the increase of the Reynolds number,and the number of turbulators *** the use of three novel turbulators,the heat transfer was about 3.15 times higher than that in the smooth tube and the friction factor was about 1.11.

Developing a high-performance public key cryptosystem is crucial for numerous modern security *** Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem(ECC)has performance and resource-saving advantages compared to other types of asymmetric ***,the sequential design implementation for ECC does not satisfy the current applications’performance ***,several factors should be considered to boost the cryptosystem performance,including the coordinate system,the scalar multiplication algo-rithm,and the elliptic curve *** tripling-oriented(3DIK)form is imple-mented in this work due to its minimal computational complexity compared to other elliptic curves *** experimental study explores the factors playing an important role in ECC performance to determine the best combi-nation that leads to developing high-speed *** proposed cryptosystem uses parallel software implementation to speed up ECC *** our knowledge,previous studies have no similar software implementation for 3DIK *** by using parallel design,projective coordinates,and a fast scalar multiplication algorithm,the proposed 3DIK ECC improved the speed of the encryption process compared with other counterparts and the usual sequential *** highest performance level for 3DIK ECC was achieved when it was implemented using the Non-Adjacent Form algorithm and homogenous *** to the costly hardware implementations,the proposed software implementation is cost effective and can be easily adapted to other *** addition,the power con-sumption of the proposed ECC is analyzed and compared with other known ***,the current study presents a detailed overview of the design and implementation of 3DIK ECC.

Acrylic fibres are highly crystalline and non-polar polymers,which makes their dyeing a very difficult step that poses real technical *** order to overcome this concern,it is intended in this paper to modify acrylic fibers by different methods namely cationisation using the Crosscolor DRT then amidoximation using hydroxylamine hydrochloride and ammonium *** resulted samples were dyed then with the bio-colorant extracted from grape *** effect of the pretreatment on fibers fine structure using X-ray diffraction and the scanning electron microscope(SEM)images and its correlation with the colour strength of the dyed fabrics was *** dyeing parameters,such as dye bath pH and temperature on the performances of this dyeing process were *** dyeing qualities and new shades varying from brown to grey and dark green have been obtained following process optimization,mordanting and modification of acrylic fibers by the technique of cationisation.
