The earliest evidence for a microblade adaptation in the remote,high altitude regions of the Tibetan Plateau

Microblade assemblages are among the most common prehistoric archaeological materials found on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)and are thought to indicate large scale migration to and settlement of the *** microblade sites,however,have been systematically excavated,especially in the remotest,highest-elevation regions of the *** timing of the large-scale arrival,spread,and permanent settlement of people on the TP therefore remains *** this paper,we report on a recently excavated site,Locality 3 of the Nwya Devu Site(ND3),located at 4600 meters above sea level(masl),near the shore of Ngoin Lake,on the interior *** analyses reveal a fairly typical microblade technological orientation and two types of microblade cores:wedge-shaped and semi-conical,which are similar to those found throughout North *** Optically Stimulated Luminescence(OSL)dating and AMS^(14)C dating,the age of ND3 ranges from 11 to 10 *** date range indicates ND3 is the oldest microblade site yet recorded in the remote,high-elevation regions of the TP and thus provides important information about when and how hunter-gatherers using microblades began exploiting the higher altitudes of the *** together,studies at ND3 and throughout the TP suggest that a microblade adaptation is associated with the first prolonged human occupation of the plateau and that microblades played a significant role in mediating the risks and facilitating the mobility necessary to permanently inhabit the TP.

Numerical Models and Methods of Atmospheric Parameters Originating in the Formation of the Earth’s Climatic Cycle

Atmospheric models are physical equations based on the ideal gas law. Applied to the atmosphere, this law yields equations for water, vapor (gas), ice, air, humidity, dryness, fire, and heat, thus defining the model of key atmospheric parameters. The distribution of these parameters across the entire planet Earth is the origin of the formation of the climatic cycle, which is a normal climatic variation. To do this, the Earth is divided into eight (8) parts according to the number of key parameters to be defined in a physical representation of the model. Following this distribution, numerical models calculate the constants for the formation of water, vapor, ice, dryness, thermal energy (fire), heat, air, and humidity. These models vary in complexity depending on the indirect trigonometric direction and simplicity in the sum of neighboring models. Note that the constants obtained from the equations yield 275.156˚K (2.006˚C) for water, 273.1596˚K (0.00963˚C) for vapor, 273.1633˚K (0.0133˚C) for ice, 0.00365 in/s for atmospheric dryness, 1.996 in2/s for humidity, 2.993 in2/s for air, 1 J for thermal energy of fire, and 0.9963 J for heat. In summary, this study aims to define the main parameters and natural phenomena contributing to the modification of planetary climate. .

estimating the Input Power of a Power Plant Using the Efficiency of the Inverter

The study focuses on estimating the input power of a power plant from available data, using the theoretical inverter efficiency as the key parameter. The paper addresses the problem of missing data in power generation systems and proposes an approach based on the efficiency formula widely documented in the literature. In the absence of input data, this method makes it possible to estimate the plant’s input power using data extracted from the site, in particular that provided by the Ministry of the Environment. The importance of this study lies in the need to accurately determine the input power in order to assess the overall performance of the energy system.

This study highlighted the physical transformation that agri-food products undergo during their drying. This transformation enormously affects the customer’s choice and the profit margin of the dried product promoter. The example of the experimental study of the potato reveals that the product continually changes its dimensions during its drying. The more the product loses its water, the more the dimensions decrease. The results initially showed that the water parameters such as mass or water content decrease according to the drying principle. The dimensions length L., width l and thickness e. decrease following a linear trend whose mathematical equations which describe them are determined using the office tool, excel. This trend has repercussions on the surface and volume parameters which in turn decreases almost linearly with the product’s water content. Note that the coefficient R2 is not always acceptable, confirming the complex nature of the behavior of organic products.

This paper investigates the exponential stability of traveling wave solutions for nonlinear delayed cellular neural *** a continuity of the past work(Wu and Niu,2016;Yu,et al.,2011)on the existence and uniqueness of the traveling wave solutions,it is very reasonable and interesting to consider the exponential stability of the traveling wave *** the weighted energy method,comparison principle and the first integral mean value theorem,this paper proves that,for all monotone traveling waves with the wave speed cc2*>0,the solutions converge time-exponentially to the corresponding traveling waves,when the initial perturbations decay at some fields.

Assessment of the carbon abatement and removal opportunities of the Arabian Gulf Countries

The Arabian Gulf Countries(AGC)are strongly reliant on the economic export of fossil fuels,while being vulnerable to climate change that is resulting in temperature increase,air pollution and sea-level rise,and threatening the health of the population and *** agreement with the Paris Accords,most of the AGC have published short-term goals to reduce their carbon emissions in the coming *** relation to these goals,this study explores the potential CO_(2)reduction,avoidance and removal in the region,by comparing a business-as-usual(BAU)scenario to three decarbonization scenarios for the power *** 2018,the total greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions in the AGC were~1333 MtCO_(2)/yr and are expected to rise to 1568 MtCO_(2)/yr in 2030 following a BAU scenario,which is likely to be reduced to 1522 MtCO_(2)/yr in 2030 by following the countries’*** issued plans for the coming decades that focus on increasing the share of renewable energy in their grid *** three decarbonization scenarios presented in this study focus on supply-side technological *** retirement of the oldest natural-gas and oil power plants could lead to a total emissions reduction of~75 MtCO_(2)/yr,without accounting for the embodied carbon emissions associated with renewable *** addition,the implementation of point-source capture at power plants expected to retire in>10 years’time could avoid emissions of~240 MtCO_(2)/yr,provided the CO_(2)is permanently sequestered in appropriate geological *** region also shows high-quality solar resources and large CO_(2)-storage potential that could couple to direct air-capture plants to offset difficult-to-avoid *** last scenario has the potential to ultimately result in net negative emissions.

Global Transmission Dynamics of a Schistosomiasis Model and Its Optimal Control

Drug treatment, snail control, cercariae control, improved sanitation and health education are the effective strategies which are used to control the schistosomiasis. In this paper, we consider a deterministic model for schistosomiasis transmission dynamics in order to explore the role of the several control strategies. The global stability of a schistosomiasis infection model that involves mating structure including male schistosomes, female schistosomes, paired schistosomes and snails is studied by constructing appropriate Lyapunov functions. We derive the basic reproduction number R0 for the deterministic model, and establish that the global dynamics are completely determined by the values of R0. We show that the disease can be eradicated when R0?≤1;otherwise, the system is persistent. In the case where ?R0?>1, we prove the existence, uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of an endemic steady state. Sensitivity analysis and simulations are carried out in order to determine the relative importance of different control strategies for disease transmission and prevalence. next, optimal control theory is applied to investigate the control strategies for eliminating schistosomiasis using time dependent controls. The characterization of the optimal control is carried out via the Pontryagins Maximum Principle. The simulation results demonstrate that the insecticide is important in the control of schistosomiasis.

Analysis of thermohaline and current distribution characteristics of Zhejiang and Fujian waters in summer

This paper analyzed the distribution of thermohaline and circulation characteristics of Zhejiang and Fujian waters,based on the cross-sectional thermohaline data and on current data （up to 30 d duration） at fixed-point moorings,collected in the summer of *** also performed low-pass filtering and spectrum analysis on the mooring submersible buoy *** on that analysis,we discussed the characteristics of low frequency currents and time-variations in these *** main conclusions are as follows.（1） There is a low salinity pinnate area near the Hangzhou Bay in summer,and outside the low salinity area,an obvious salinity front is present from surface to bottom near 123 *** is also a temperature front below the surface at a corresponding position.（2） Bottom water of the Taiwan warm Current comes from the subsurface of Kuroshio.（3） The direction of low frequency current at fixed anchor stations is N-ne or S,which mainly depends on the interaction of control currents in this waters.（4） Significant spectral peaks at all mooring stations are typically semidiurnal and diurnal *** tidal waves are the main ones in these waters,and have more energy closer to the shore.（5） Significant energy spectral peaks of middle period （3 to 8 d） of currents are responses to weather frequency.（6） Significant energy spectral peaks of long periods at the surface or bottom are probably responses to seasonal wind or bottom friction,while,the long period peaks of other depths can reflect cyclical changes of interactions between *** conclude that the pulsation period of the Taiwan warm Current in these waters is 10-17 d.

Independent of Indochina extrusion, the South China sea experienced a process from passive continental rifting to marginal sea drifting. According to the fault patterns in the Beibu Gulf basin and the Pearl River Mouth basin, the continental rifting and early spreading stage from 32 to 26 Ma were controlled by extensional stress field, which shifted clockwise from southeastward to south southeastward. From 24 Ma on, the sea spread in NW-SE direction and ceased spreading at around 15.5 Ma. Integrated geological information with the assumption that the South China sea developed along a pre-Cenozoic weakness zone, we did analogue experiments on the South China sea evolu- tion. Experiments revealed that the pre-existing weakness zone goes roughly along the uplift zone between the present Zhu-1 and Zhu-2 depression. The pre-existing weakness zone is composed of three segments trending Nne, roughly EW and neE, respectively. The early opening of the South China sea is accompanied with roughly 15° clockwise rotation, while the SE sub-sea basin opened with SE extension. Tinjar fault was the western boundary of the Nansha block (Dangerous Ground), while Lupar fault was the eastern boundary of the Indochina, NW-trending rift belt known as Zengmu basin developed between above two faults due to block divergent of Indochina from Nansha. In the experiment, transtensional flower structures along NW-trending faults are seen, and slight inversion occurs along some ne-dipping faults. The existence of rigid massifs changed the orientations of some faults and rift belt, and also led to deformation concentrate around the massifs. The rifting and drifting of the South China sea might be caused by slab pull from the proto South China sea subducting toward Borneo and/or mantle flow caused by India-Asia collision.
