Impact on soil Organic C and Total soil N from Cool- and warm-season legumes Used in a Green manure-Forage Cropping system

Annual forage legumes are important components of livestock production systems in East Texas and the southeastern Us. Forage legumes contribute nitrogen (N) to cropping systems through biological N fixation, and their seasonal biomass production can be managed to complement forage grasses. Our research objectives were to evaluate both warm- and cool-season annual forage legumes as green manure for biomass, N content, ability to enhance soil organic carbon (sOC) and soil N, and impact on post season forage grass crops. Nine warm-season forage legumes (Wsl) were spring planted and incorporated as green manure in the fall. Forage rye (secale cereale l.) was planted following the incorporation of Wsl treatments. Eight cool-season forage legumes (Csl) were fall planted in previously fallow plots and incorporated as green manure in late spring. sorghum-sudangrass (sorghum bicolor x sorghum bicolor var. sudanense) was planted over all treatments in early summer after forage rye harvest and incorporation of Csl treatments. sorghum-sudangrass was harvested in June, August and september, and treatments were evaluated for dry matter and N concentration. soil cores were taken from each plot, split into depths of 0 to 15, 15 to 30 and 30 to 60 cm, and soil C and N were measured using combustion analysis. Nylon mesh bags containing plant samples were buried at 15 cm and used to evaluate decomposition rate of above ground legume biomass, including change in C and N concentrations. mungbean (Vigna radiata l. [Wilczek]) had the highest shoot biomass yield (6.24 t Dm hasup>-1sup>) and contributed the most total N (167 kg∙hasup>-1sup>) and total C (3043 kg∙hasup>-1sup>) of the Wsl tested. Decomposition rate of Wsl biomass was rapid in the first 10 weeks and very slow afterward. Winter pea (Pisum sativum l. spp. sativum), arrow leaf clover (Trifolium vesiculosum savi.), and crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum l.) were the most productive Csl in this trial. Before the advent of cheap, synthetic fertilizers, legumes were commonly used as green manure crops for their ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen (N). A three-year study at Overton, TX examined legume integration into high-biomass sorghum (sorghum bicolor l.) production systems on a lilbert loamy fine sand recently cultivated after a fertilized bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (l.) Pers.] pasture. In this split-split plot design, ‘Dixie’ crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum l.) and ‘Iron and Clay’ cowpea (Vigna unguiculata l.) were integrated into a high-biomass sorghum production system to evaluate impacts on N concentration, C concentration, and yield of high-biomass sorghum and their impacts on soil total N and soil organic carbon (sOC). main plots were split into crimson clover green manure (ClGm) and winter fallow (FAll) followed by three sub-plots split into warm-season crop rotations: cowpea green manure (CPGm), cowpea-sorghum intercrop (CPsR), and sorghum monocrop (sORG). Three N fertilizer treatments (0, 45, 90 kg N∙ha−1) were randomized and applied as sub-sub plots. The ClGm increased (P sorghum biomass yield (16.5 t Dm∙ha−1) 28% in year three but had no effect in the first two years. The CPsR treatment reduced sorghum yield up to 62% compared to sORG;whereas CPGm increased sorghum yield 56% and 18% the two years following cowpea incorporation. Rate of N fertilizer had no effect on sorghum biomass yield. Decrease in sOC and soil N over time indicated mineralization of organic N and may explain why no N fertilizer response was observed in sorghum biomass yield. Cowpea showed strong potential as a green manure crop but proved to be too competitive for successful intercropping in high-biomass sorghum production systems.

Role of Air staging in a Batch-Type Fixed Bed Biomass Combustor under Constant Primary Air

staged combustion of biomass is the most suitable thermo-chemical conversion for achieving lower gaseous emissions and higher fuel conversion *** a staged fixed bed combustion of biomass,combustion air is supplied in two *** the first stage,primary air is provided below the fuel,whereas in the later stage,secondary air is supplied in the freeboard *** available literature on the effects of air staging(secondary air location) at a constant primary air flow rate on combustion characteristics in a batch-type fixed bed combustor is limited and hence warrants further *** study resolves the effect of air staging,by varying the location of secondary air in the freeboard at five secondary to total air ratios in a batch-type fixed bed *** are reported for the effects of these controlled parameters on fuel conversion rate,overall gaseous emissions(CO_(2),CO and NO_x) and temperature *** fuel used throughout was densified hardwood *** show that a primary freeboard length(distance between fuel bed top and secondary air injection) of200 mm has higher fuel conversion rates and temperatures as well as lower CO emissions,at a secondary to total air ratio of 0.75 as compared to primary freeboard length of 300 ***,NO_x emissions were found to be lower for a primary freeboard length of 300 mm as compared to 200 *** increase in secondary to total air ratio from 0.33 to 0.75 resulted in higher freeboard temperatures and lower CO as well as NO_x *** outcomes of this study will be helpful in the effective design of commercial scale biomass combustors for more efficient and environmentally friendly combustion.

背景:m^(6)A修饰与股骨头坏死的发生发展相关,但在激素性股骨头坏死中的作用尚不清楚。目的:基于GEO数据库,采用生物信息学方法分析激素性股骨头坏死中表达差异的m^(6)A基因及互作miRNAs,探寻其潜在发病机制。方法:在GEO数据库中检索并下载与激素性股骨头坏死相关的mRNA表达谱数据集(GsE123568),通过R软件对数据集进行差异基因筛选及GO功能、KEGG通路富集分析。识别差异基因中的m^(6)A差异表达基因(m^(6)A-DEGs)并对其进行GO功能与KEGG通路富集分析,比较m^(6)A-DEGs的表达量并分析它们之间的相关性。最后通过Cytoscape构建m^(6)A-DEGs的PPI互作网络及筛选核心基因。使用Targetscan,miRTarBase和miRBD数据库预测m^(6)A-DEGs相关的潜在miRNAs,同时使用ChIPBase及hTFtarget数据库预测7个核心基因潜在转录因子,然后分别构建m^(6)A-miRNA与转录因子m^(6)A调控网络。最后使用数据集GsE74089验证7个核心m^(6)A-DEGs的表达水平。结果与结论:①从数据集中共筛选出2460个差异表达的基因,其中1455个上调,1005个下调。②从数据集中筛选出了14个m^(6)A-DEGs,包括3个下调和11个上调基因,m^(6)A-DEGs在激素性股骨头坏死中的表达具有显著差异(Pspearman分析表明它们之间具有一定相关性。③m^(6)A-DEGs的GO和KEGG富集分析主要集中在骨髓细胞分化与发育、免疫受体与细胞因子受体活性、破骨细胞分化、AmPK与白细胞介素17信号通路。④m^(6)A-DEGs前7个核心基因包括YTHDF3,YTHDF1,YTHDF2,AlKBH5,mETTl3,HNRNPA2B1及HNRNPC,它们在miRTarBase,miRDB和Targetscan数据库中共有44个miRNA重叠,在ChIPBase及hTFtarget数据库中共有79个重叠转录因子。⑤在GsE74089数据集中有6个核心m^(6)A-DEGs的表达水平与GsE123568数据集一致。⑥结果证实,根据生物信息学方法筛选的7个m^(6)A-DEGs可能通过调控多个miRNA、转录因子和AmPK及白细胞介素17信号通路表达,进而影响激素性股骨头坏死中骨髓细胞分化发育与破骨细胞分化,为进一步深入研究激素性股骨头坏死的发病机制和靶向治疗提供了数据支持和研究方向。

Grain refinement of mg-Ca alloys by native mgO particles

In mg-Ca alloys the grain refining mechanism,in particular regarding the role of nucleant substrates,remains the object of *** native mgO is being recognised as a nucleating substrate accounting for grain refinement of mg alloys,the possible interactions of mgO with alloying elements that may alter the nucleation potency have not been elucidated ***,we design casting experiments of mg-xCa alloys varied qualitatively in number density of native mgO,which are then comprehensively studied by advanced electron *** results show that grain refinement is enhanced as the particle number density of mgO *** native mgO particles are modified by interfacial layers due to the co-segregation of Ca and N solute atoms at the mgO/mg *** aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy,we reveal the nature of these Ca/N interfacial layers at the atomic *** of the crystallographic termination of mgO,Ca and N co-segregate at the mgO/mg interface and occupy mg and O sites,respectively,forming an interfacial structure of a few atomic *** interfacial structure is slightly expanded,less ordered and defective compared to the mgO matrix due to compositional deviations,whereby the mgO substrate is altered as a poorer template to nucleate mg *** solidification in a TP-1 mould,the impotent mgO particles account for the grain refining mechanism,where they are suggested to participate into nucleation and grain initiation processes in an explosive *** work not only reveals the atomic engineering of a substrate through interfacial segregation but also demonstrates the effectiveness of a strategy whereby native mgO particles can be harnessed for grain refinement in mg-Ca alloys.

采用顶空箭型固相微萃取(Hs-Arrow-sPmE)与气相色谱-串联质谱(GC-ms/ms)技术,建立了水中29种致嗅物质的快速检测方法。通过优化前处理条件和GC-ms/ms参数,选择10 ml水样加入顶空瓶中,于70℃条件下,通过3.5 g氯化钠盐析辅助预孵化8 min,然后以二乙烯基苯/羟基/聚二甲基硅氧烷(DVB/Carbon WR/PmDs)smart sPmE Arrow箭型固相萃取头萃取20 min,于240℃进样口处解吸3 min。目标物采用VF-624 ms色谱柱(30 m×0.25 mm×1.4µm)进行分离,多反应监测(mRm)模式下进行检测。结果表明,水中29种致嗅物质在5~300 ng/l范围内线性良好,相关系数(r^(2))均大于0.991,方法检出限和定量下限分别为0.31~9.27 ng/l和1.26~37.09 ng/l。以超纯水为空白基质,在10、80、160 ng/l加标水平下,各目标物的回收率为84.3%~112%,相对标准偏差(RsD,n=6)为0.10%~8.6%。该方法已用于实际水样中29种目标物的测定,可满足痕量致嗅物质的检测要求。

In this article,we looked at metallenes,a novel class of two-dimensional(2D)metals that are attracting interest in the energy and catalysis *** is one area where their exceptional physicochemical and electrical characteristics might be *** are unique because they include several metal atoms that are not in a coordinated *** makes them more active and improves their atomic uti-lization,which in turn increases their catalytic *** article delves into the potential of two-dimensional metals as electrocatalysts for carbon dioxide reduction,fuel oxidation,oxygen evolution,and oxygen reduction reactions in the context of sustainable energy *** to the exception-ally high surface-to-volume ratio,large surface area as well as their optimized atomic use efficiency,2D materials defined by atomic layers are crucial for surface-related sustainable energy *** to its exceptional properties,such as high conductivity and the ability to enhance the exposure of active metal sites,2D metallenes have recently attracted a lot of interest for use in catalysis,electronics,and energy-related *** their highly mobility,adjustable surface states,and electrical struc-tures that can be fine-tuned,2D metallenes are promising nanostructure materials for use in energy con-version with the sustainable applications.
