Understanding the effects of microwave irradiation and thermal treatment on the dynamic compression and fragmentation properties of rocks is essential to quantify energy consumption in rock *** this study,Fangshan granite(FG)specimens were exposed to microwave irradiation and heat *** damage of FG specimens induced by these two methods was compared using X-ray CT scanning and ultrasonic wave *** temperatures of FG after microwave irradiation and thermal treatment were effectively evaluated using a newly proposed technique.A novelty method for precisely determining the geometric features of fragments is developed to estimate the fragmentation ***,the dynamic uniaxial compressive strength(UCS),the dynamic fragmentation characteristics,and the fragmentation energy of FG after these two pretreatment methods can be reasonably *** noticeable distinction of loading rate effect on the dynamic UCS of FG between these two pretreatment methods is first observed.A relationship is established between the dynamic UCS and the damage induced by microwave irradiation and heat ***,fragmentation energy fan analysis is introduced to accurately compare the fragmentation properties of FG after two pretreatment methods in dynamic compression tests.

Three types of steels were designed on the basis of GX40CrNiSi25-12 austenitic heat resistant steel by adding different Mn contents(2wt.%,6wt.%,and 12wt.%).Thermodynamic calculation,microstructure characterization and mechanical property tests were conducted to investigate the effect of Mn addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the austenitic heat resistant *** show that the matrix structure in all the three types of steels at room temperature is completely *** NbC and M_(23)C_(6)precipitate at grain boundaries of austenite *** the increase of Mn content,the number of carbides increases and their distribution becomes more *** the Mn content increases from 1.99%to 12.06%,the ultimate tensile strength,yield strength and elongation increase by 14.6%,8.0%and 46.3%,*** improvement of the mechanical properties of austenitic steels can be explained by utilizing classic theories of alloy strengthening,including solid solution strengthening,precipitation strengthening,and grain *** increase in alloy strength can be attributed to solid solution strengthening and precipitation strengthening caused by the addition of *** improvement of the plasticity of austenitic steels can be explained from two aspects:grain refinement and homogenization of precipitated phases.

The development of multifunctional materials and synergistic applications of various functions are important conditions for integrated and miniaturized ***,we developed asymmetric MXene/aramid nanofibers/polyimides(AMAP)aerogels with different modules using an integrated molding *** asymmetric modules(layered MXene/aramid nanofibers section and porous MXene/aramid nanofibers/polyimides section)interactions are beneficial for enhanced performances,resulting in low reflection electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding(specific shielding effectiveness of 2483(dB·cm^(3))/g and a low R-value of 0.0138),high-efficiency infrared radiation(IR)stealth(ultra-low thermal conductivity of 0.045 W/(m·K)and IR emissivity of 0.32 at 3–5μm and 0.28 at 8–14μm),and excellent thermal management performances of insulated Joule ***,these multifunctional AMAP aerogels are suitable for various application scenarios such as personal and building protection against electromagnetic pollution and cold,as well as military equipment protection against infrared detection and EMI.

With the development of hydrogen energy, palladium-based membranes have been widely used in hydrogen separation and purification. However, the poor chemical stability of palladium composite membranes limits their commercial applications. In this study, a zeolite-palladium composite membrane with a sandwich-like structure was obtained by using a TS-1 zeolite film grown on the surface of palladium membrane. The membrane microstructure was characterized by SEM and EDX. The effects of the TS-1 film on the hydrogen permeability and stability of palladium composite membrane were investigated in details. Benefited from the protection of the TS-1 zeolite film, the stability of palladium composite membrane was enhanced. The results indicate that the TS-1-Pd composite membrane was stable after eight cycles of the temperature exchange cycles between 773 K and 623 K. Especially, the loss of hydrogen permeance for TS-1-Pd composite membrane was much smaller than that of the pure palladium membrane when the membrane was tested in the presence of C 3 H 6 atmosphere. It indicated that the TS-1-Pd composite membrane had better chemical stability in comparison with pure palladium membrane, owing to its sandwich-like structure. This work provides an efficient way for the deposition of zeolite film on palladium membrane to enhance the membrane stability. Rocks of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(QTP)host abundant Triassic *** far,the well established marine fossil sequences based on ammonoids,conodonts,bivalves,brachiopods,radiolarians,and terrestrial spora-pollen sequence have become standard for biostratigraphic correlation of the *** much of Triassic time,the QTP occupied a marine setting as suggested by the dominance of marine *** main sedimentary types represented in the Triassic successions include littoral to shallow marine clastic rocks,shallow marine carbonate platform carbonates,bathyal to abyssal slope carbonates intercalated with clastic and siliceous deposits,coal-bearing clastic strata contained within paralic facies deposits,and littoral and terrestrial volcaniclastic *** deposits are organized into four stages in ascending order:(1)Early Triassic deposits that record marine transgression,including extensive shallow marine carbonate platform strata.(2)Middle Triassic Ladinian to Late Triassic Carnian deposits,including thin-bedded limestone,fine clastics,and siliceous rocks,that accumulated at greater depths than underlying Early Triassic strata and reflect the peak of the *** activity appears to have occurred in some areas during this stage.(3)Late Triassic Norian deposits that record the onset of marine regression as suggested by the widespread occurrence of platform *** is noteworthy that stage 3 deposits of the Qin-Qi-Kun area in the northernmost region of the QPT is dominated by terrestrial strata and displays evidence of local erosion.(4)Late Triassic Rhaetian littoral and shallow marine clastic and coal-bearing deposits that preserve the record of continued marine regression *** Indus-Yarlungzangbo Suture Zone(IYSZ)appears to have been the rifting axis during Triassic time as suggested by sedimentary facies trends that reflect deepening to south and ***,the Himalaya Block to the south of the IYSZ was part of the passive margin

The development of dielectric materials with low permittivity and low loss is a great challenge in wireless *** this study,LiLn(PO_(3))_(4)(Ln=La,Sm,Eu)ceramic systems were successfully prepared using the traditional solid-state method.X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the LiLn(PO_(3))_(4)ceramics crystallized in a monoclinic structure when sintered at 850–940℃.The characteristic peak shifted to higher angles with variations in the Ln element,which was ascribed to a reduction in the cell *** analysis by structure refinement revealed that the reduction in the cell volume resulted from the decrease in chemical bond lengths and the compression of[LiO_(4)]and[PO_(4)]***,the LiLn(PO_(3))_(4)ceramic system displayed exceptional performance at low sintering temperatures(910–925℃),including a high quality factor(Q·f)of 41,607–75,968 GHz,low temperature coefficient of resonant frequency(τ_(f))ranging from−19.64 to−47.49 ppm/℃,low permittivity(ε_(r))between 5.04 and 5.26,and low density(3.04–3.26 g/cm^(3)).The application of Phillips–van Vechten–Levine(P–V–L)theory revealed that the increased Q·f value of the LiLn(PO_(3))_(4)systems can be attributed to the enhanced packing fraction,bond covalency,and lattice energy,and the stability of τ_(f) was associated with the increase in the bond ***,a prototype microstrip patch antenna using LiEu(PO_(3))_(4) ceramics was *** measurement results demonstrated excellent antenna performance with a bandwidth of 360 MHz and a peak gain of 5.11 dB at a central frequency of 5.08 ***,low-εr LiLn(PO_(3))_(4)ceramic systems are promising candidates for microwave/millimeter-wave communication.

An early scoring system to predict mechanical ventilation for botulism: a single-center-based study

BACKGROUND:Early identifi cation of patients requiring ventilator support will be benefi cial for the outcomes of *** present study aimed to establish a new scoring system to predict mechanical ventilation(MV)for botulism ***:A single-center retrospective study was conducted to identify risk factors associated with MV in botulism patients from 2007 to *** analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to screen out risk factors for constructing a prognostic scoring *** area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was ***:A total of 153 patients with botulism(66 males and 87 females,with an average age of 43 years)were *** these,49 patients(32.0%)required MV,including 21(13.7%)with invasive ventilation and 28(18.3%)with non-invasive *** analysis revealed that botulinum toxin type,pneumonia,incubation period,degree of hypoxia,and severity of muscle involvement were independent risk factors for *** risk factors were incorporated into a multivariate logistic regression analysis to establish a prognostic scoring *** risk factor was scored by allocating a weight based on its regression coeffi cient and rounded to whole numbers for practical utilization([botulinum toxin type A:1],[pneumonia:2],[incubation period≤1 day:2],[hypoxia<90%:2],[severity of muscle involvement:grade II,3;grade III,7;grade IV,11]).The scoring system achieved an area under the ROC curve of 0.82(95%CI 0.75-0.89,P<0.001).At the optimal threshold of 9,the scoring system achieved a sensitivity of 83.7%and a specifi city of 70.2%.CONCLUSION:Our study identified botulinum toxin type,pneumonia,incubation period,degree of hypoxia,and severity of muscle involvement as independent risk factors for MV in botulism patients.A score≥9 in our scoring system is associated with a higher likelihood of requiring MV in botulism *** scoring system needs to be validated externally bef
