Spatial Distribution and Release Flux of Carbon and Nitrogen Components in Glacial Watersheds of Eastern Tibetan Plateau

The carbon cycle stands as a cornerstone among the Earth's material cycles， carrying profound implications for global climate dynamics and humanity's sustenance and advancement. Additionally， nitrogen， as a vital nutrient element， plays a pivotal role in biogeochemical processes， exerting significant influence on the ecological environment within watersheds. In this study， an analysis of the carbon （C） and nitrogen （N） components in the river water of 12 alpine basins on the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau （TP） reveals that the average dissolved organic carbon （DOC） concentration in the river water is 0.76±0.67 mg/L， indicating a lower level compared to the global river average organic carbon content. Specifically， the average DOC concentrations were 0.42±0.22 mg/L and 1.56±0.68 mg/L in the glacial and non-glacial basins， respectively. The average dissolved inorganic carbon （DIC） concentration in the eastern TP is 27.04±20.19 mg/L， with the lowest DIC observed at Dagu Glacier and the highest at Daxia River. Furthermore， the average dissolved total carbon （DTC） concentration in glacier river water was 18.87±12.65 mg/L， contrasting with 48.23±21.07 mg/L in non-glacial basins. The mean concentration of total nitrogen （TN） in the eastern TP averaged 0.97±0.54 mg/L， with the glacial basin registering 1.01±0.47 mg/L and the non-glacial basin at 0.89±0.70 mg/L. Evaluating the release fluxes of carbon and nitrogen across 12 river basins revealed a range of DTC emission fluxes from 0.32 to 31.02 × 109g C/a， with inorganic carbon comprising 71.0% to 99.5%. Consequently， the carbon emission flux for seven glacier basins totaled 15.91 × 109g C/a， while for the five non-glacial river basins， it reached 87.37× 109g C/a. The total TN release fluxes across 12 small river basins amounted to 2.46 × 109g N/a， with 0.84 × 109g N/a released in glacial basins and 1.62 × 109g N/a in the non-glacial basin. Scutellarein Ameliorated Chondrocyte Inflammation and Osteoarthritis in Rats

Macroscopic model and statistical model to characterize electromagnetic information of a digital coding metasurface

A digital coding metasurface is a platform connecting the digital space and electromagnetic wave space, and has therefore gained much attention due to its intriguing value in reshaping wireless channels and realizing new communication architectures. Correspondingly, there is an urgent need for electromagnetic information theory that reveals the upper limit of communication capacity and supports the accurate design of metasurface-based communication systems. To this end, we propose a macroscopic model and a statistical model of the digital coding metasurface. The macroscopic model uniformly accommodates both digital and electromagnetic aspects of the meta-atoms and predicts all possible scattered fields of the digital coding metasurface based on a small number of simulations or measurements. Full-wave simulations and experimental results show that the macroscopic model is feasible and accurate. A statistical model is further proposed to correlate the mutual coupling between meta-atoms with covariance and to calculate the entropy of the equivalent currents of digital coding metasurface. These two models can help reconfigurable intelligent surfaces achieve more accurate beamforming and channel estimation, and thus improve signal power and coverage. Moreover, the models will encourage the creation of a precoding codebook in metasurface-based direct digital modulation systems, with the aim of approaching the upper limit of channel capacity. With these two models, the concepts of current space and current entropy, as well as the analysis of information loss from the coding space to wave space, is established for the first time, helping to bridge the gap between the digital world and the physical world, and advancing developments of electromagnetic information theory and new-architecture wireless systems.

Edge effect during microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition diamond-film:Multiphysics simulation and experimental verification

Osteoporosis is a metabolic dysregulation of bone that occurs mainly in postmenopausal women,and the hyperfunction of osteoclasts is the primary contributor to postmenopausal ***,the development of effective therapeutic drugs and precise delivery systems remains a challenge in the field of anti-absorption ***,we reported theα-cyperone(α-CYP)for anti-osteoporosis and developed a liposome-based nano-drug delivery system ofα-CYP,that specifically targets the bone resorption ***,we found that theα-CYP,one of the major sesquiterpenes of Cyperus rotundus L.,attenuated the progression of osteoporosis in ovariectomized(OVX)mice and down-regulated the expression of phosphorylated proteins of phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K)and protein kinase B(Akt),causing down-regulation of osteoclast-related genes/proteins and curbing osteoclast ***,α-CYP reversed the activation of osteoclastic differentiation and enhanced osteoporosis-related proteins expression caused by PI3K/Akt agonist(YS-49).More importantly,we adopted the osteoclastic resorption surface targeting peptide Asp8 and constructed the liposome(lipαC@Asp8)to deliverα-CYP to osteoclasts and confirmed its anti-osteoporosis effect and enhanced osteoclast inhibition by blocking PI3K/Akt *** conclusion,this study demonstrated thatα-CYP inhibits osteoclast differentiation and osteoporosis development by silencing PI3K/Akt pathway,and the liposome targeting delivery systems loaded withα-CYP might provide a novel and effective strategy to treat osteoporosis.

0 INTRODUCTION Resonance frequency is an important indicator for structure health monitoring,which can be exacerbated by various natural forces,such as rainfall,earthquakes,and hurricanes(wu et al.,2021;Shan et al.,2020;Gentile et al.,2016;Moser and Moaveni,2011).Clinton et al.(2006)found that changes in environmental factors could significantly affect the resonance frequency of the Millikan Library;and that compared with temperature,humidity and strong wind have greater impacts on resonance ***,some studies have confirmed the effects of environmental factors through mathematical statistical analyses,including Xia et al.(2006),Yuen and Kuok(2010),and Guéguen et al.(2017).Other studies(e.g.,Astorga et al.,2018)revealed a building’s self-healing ability,where the building’s resonance frequency drifts due to earthquake events,environmental factors,or random forced vibrations could gradually return to its original level,but the recovery time of frequency drift could be considerably different with respect to different environmental factors.
