The synergistic effect can help improve the electrocatalyst performances by combining the advantages of individual *** particular,such an effect has been more important in the atomic *** this review,we have summarized the synergistic effect of N,X co-doping graphdiyne[X=B,S,F or transition metal(TM)]electrocatalysts and graphdiyne-based dual-atom catalyst(GDY-DAC).In general,the synergistic cooperation between two different dopants in co-doped GDY and adjacent active sites in GDY-DAC not only promotes their catalytic activity but also greatly enhances the thermodynamic stability of the *** the N,X co-doping GDY electrocatalysts,doping the heteroatoms like boron,sulphur,phosphorus,and fluorine with nitrogen can further tune the charge density distribution and electronic ***,the electron exchange between two doping atoms and GDY substrate has been discussed,where the TM-based GDY-DAC is a very promising catalyst for *** importantly,electronic interactions between different elements on GDY have been carefully *** the end,we have also supplied perspectives to the future developments of the GDY-based electrocatalysts.

When investigating the impact of air pollution on health, particulate matter less than 2.5μm in aerodynamic diameter （PM2.5） is considered more harrnful than particulates of other sizes. Therefore, studies of PM2.5 have attracted more attention. Beijing, the capital of China, is notorious for its serious air pollution problem, an issue which has been of great concern to the residents, government, and related institutes for decades. However, in China, significantly less time has been devoted to observing PM2.5 than for PM10. Especially before 2013, the density of the PM2.5 ground observation network was relatively low, and the distribution of observation stations was uneven. One solution is to estimate PM2.5 concentrations from the existing data on PM10. In the present study, by analyzing the relationship between the concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10, and the meteorological conditions for each season in Beijing from 2008 to 2014, a U-shaped relationship was found between the daily maximum wind speed and the daily PM concentration, including both PM2.5 and PM10. That is, the relationship between wind speed and PM concentration is not a simple positive or negative correlation in these wind directions; their relationship has a complex effect, with higher PM at low and high wind than for moderate winds. Additionally, in contrast to previous studies, we found that the PM2.5/PM10 ratio is proportional to the mean relative humidity （MRH）. According to this relationship, for each season we established a multiple nonlinear regression （MNLR） model to estimate the PM2.5 concentrations of the missing periods.

A bloom of the dinoflagellate Scrippsiella trochoidea was detected for the first time in inner Tolo Harbor,Hong Kong in 2 000. Water samples were collected at eight stations along a transect passing through a red tide patch for microscopic analysis of phytoplankton composition and high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) analysis of phytoplankton pigments. During the bloom,the density of dinoflagellates was 1.1×106 cells L-1 within the patch and 8.6×105 cells L-1 outside the patch where the phytoplankton community was dominated by diatoms. After the bloom the S. trochoidea began to decrease in density and was replaced by diatoms as the dominating bloom-causing organisms at all stations,and the density of dinoflagellates at most stations was less than 1.0 × 106 cells L-1. The status of S. trochoidea as the causative species of the bloom was indicated by the presence of peridinin,the marker pigment for dinoflagellates. The shift from dinoflagellates to diatoms was marked by the decline of peridinin and the prevalence of fucoxanthin. Phytoplankton pigment markers also revealed the presence of other minor phytoplankton assemblages such as cryptomonads and blue-green algal.

Color image segmentation is crucial in image processing and computer *** traditional segmentation methods simply regard an RGB color image as the direct combination of the three monochrome images and ignore the inherent color structures within channels,which contain some key feature information of the *** better describe the relationship of color channels,we introduce a quaternion-based regularization that can reflect the image characteristics more *** model combines the idea of the Mumford-Shah model-based two-stage segmentation method and the Saturation-Value Total Variation regularization for color image *** new strategy first extracts features from the color image and then subdivides the image in a new color feature space which achieves better performance than methods in RGB color ***,to accelerate the optimization process,we use a new primal-dual algorithm to solve our novel *** results demonstrate clearly that the performance of our proposed method is excellent.

Edible bird＇s nest （EBN） is derived from the saliva of certain types of swiflets. It is consumed in many parts of the world for its nutritional and medicinal values. Although many claims have been made on the therapeutic and health- promoting effects of EBN, scientific documentations regarding these effects are very limited in published literature. It is not until recently that the biological effects of EBN are being investigated and evidence-based studies are being conducted. Several studies have found that EBN may enhance cell proliferation and differentiation and various beneficial effects have been reported in vitro as well as in vivo. While these studies point towards the potential use of EBN in the treatment or even prevention of several diseases, the mechanisms of action of EBN remain largely unknown and more explorations are needed. This review is one of the very few scientific reviews onEBN which focuses on recent evidence-based discoveries.

Defects in materials significantly alter their electronic and structural properties,which affect the per-formance of electronic devices,structural alloys,and functional ***,calculating all the possible defects in complex materials with conventional Density Functional Theory(DFT)can be compu-tationally *** enhance the efficiency of these calculations,we interfaced Density Functional Tight Binding(DFTB)with the Clusters Approach to Statistical Mechanics(CASM)software package for the first *** SiC and ZnO as representative examples,we show that DFTB gives accurate results and can be used as an efficient computational approach for calculating and pre-screening formation ener-gies/convex *** DFTB+CASM implementation allows for an efficient exploration(up to an order of magnitude faster than DFT)of formation energies and convex hulls,which researchers can use to probe other complex systems.
