Symmetric Taylor-Gortler-like vortices at Re=3200 and 5000 in 3D rectangular cavities with a moving top lid are studied numerically and tested with a spanwise aspect ratio of 1:1:L,where L=1,2,*** are obtained by solving the momentum equations and the continuity equations using the consistent splitting *** code presented here was ported to the Parallel Interoperable Computational Mechanics System Simulator(PICMSS).Stable solutions are obtained as limit cases of the transients.

background In the primary care setting in Macao,type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is the seventh most common reason for *** glycaemic control constitutes a major public health problem and is associated with premature death and disability and decreased quality of ***,this condition substantially increases healthcare *** The primary objective was to assess the successful glycaemic control rates,blood pressure(BP)and cholesterol control rates in patients with T2DM in a Macao primary care *** secondary objective of this study was to assess the delay of insulin initiation in the Sao Lourence Health *** Patients were stratified according to age(<65 years vs≥65 years)and *** glycaemic control was defined as glycated haemoglobin(HbA1c)<7%.Successful cholesterol control was defined as a low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)level<2.6 mmol/L,and BP control was defined as BP<140/90 mm *** Among the 2157 participants included in this study,1046(48.5%)patients had HbA1c<7%,1209(56.1%)patients had BP<140/90 mm Hg and 1244(57.7%)patients had LDL-C<2.6 mmol/*** conclusion,only 403(18.7%)patients met the targets for all three *** the 235 patients who were on insulin therapy,the mean(±SD)duration from T2DM diagnosis to insulin initiation was 7.47±6.52 years,the mean(±SD)duration from HbA1c not meeting the target(HbA1c≥7%over 1 year and persistently)to insulin initiation was 3.34±3.66 years and the mean baseline HbA1c was 9.13%.Compared with patients with a longer duration(≥5 years)of HbA1c not meeting the target before insulin initiation,those who started insulin within 1 year of HbA1c not meeting the target had a better glycaemic control rate(40.7%vs 13%).Conclusions Nearly half of the patients at Sao Lourence Health Center,a primary care centre in Macao,met the glycaemic control target,but less than one-fifth of patients met all three targets for T2DM ***,there was a delay in

The mechanism of urea's action in protein denaturation remains largely *** provide an experimental basis for molecular dynamics(MD)simulations on urea-protein interactions,we investigated the effect of urea on human intestinal fatty acid binding protein(hIFABP)by nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR).Hydrogen-deuterium exchange(HDX)rates at2 M urea indicate that urea affects hIFABP in a residue-specific manner via direct urea-protein interactions and preferentially weakens hydrogen bonds between highly protected ***-specific effects of urea on NMR peak intensities and chemical shifts further support the presence of direct urea-protein ***(2D)water-rotating frame Overhauser enhancement(ROE)data shows one protein-bound water molecule in contact with Val66 and Trp82,one putative bound water molecule in interaction with Thr76 and E-F loop,and that urea at low concentrations cannot displace these protein-bound water *** urea-nuclear Overhauser effect(NOE)experiments using 15N-urea further show no tightly protein-bound urea *** results thus suggest specific,but weak or transient,urea-protein interactions,supporting the direct interaction model of urea denaturation.

AIM:To evaluate sertraline,a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor in the treatment of patients with functional ***:Consecutive tertiary hospital patients with a clinical diagnosis of functional dyspepsia(FD) according to the Rome Ⅱ criteria with a Hong Kong dyspepsia index(HKDI) of greater than 16 were *** commenced enrolment prior to the inception of the Rome Ⅲ criteria for functional *** patients were ethnic Chinese,had a normal upper endoscopy and were Helicobacter pylori negative prior to *** patients were randomized to receive sertraline 50 mg or placebo daily for 8 *** symptom scores,quality of life,hospital anxiety and depression(HAD) scale and global symptom relief were evaluated before,during and after *** effects were monitored during and after ***:A total of 193 patients were randomized in the intention to treat(ITT),and 150 patients were included in the per protocol(PP) *** both the ITT and PP,there was no difference in the primary outcome of global dyspepsia symptoms between the sertraline and placebo groups at week *** the ITT analysis,98 and 95 patients were randomized to the sertraline and placebo groups respectively.A total of 43 patients withdrew from the study(22.3%) by week 8,with 23 of the 24 drop-outs in the sertraline group occurring prior to week 4(95.8%).In contrast,in the placebo arm,11 of 19 patients dropped out by week 4(57.9%).Utilizing the last response carried forward to account for the drop-outs,there were no differences between the sertraline and placebo groups at baseline in terms of the HKDI,HKDI 26.08 ± 6.19 vs 26.70 ± 5.89,P = 0.433;and at week 8,HKDI 22.41 ± 6.36 vs 23.25 ± 7.30,P = 0.352 *** the PP analysis,74 and 76 patients were randomized to the sertraline and placebo groups *** baseline,there were no statistically significant differences between the sertraline and placebo groups,HKDI 25.83 ± 6.313 vs 27.19 ±
