Repeated inoculation with rumen fluid accelerates the rumen bacterial transition with no benefit on production performance in postpartum Holstein dairy cows

Background The dairy cow’s postpartum period is characterized by dramatic physiological changes,therefore imposing severe challenges on the animal for maintaining health and milk *** dynamics of the ruminal microbiota are also tremendous and may play a crucial role in lactation *** aim to investigate the potential benefits of early microbial intervention by fresh rumen microbiota transplantation(RMT)and sterile RMT in postpartum dairy *** fistulated peak-lactation dairy cows were selected to be the donors for rumen fluid *** postpartum cows were divided into 3 groups as the transplantation receptors respectively receiving 10 L fresh rumen fluid(FR),10 L sterile rumen fluid(SR),or 10 L saline(CON)during 3 d after *** Production performance,plasma indices,plasma lipidome,ruminal microbiome,and liver transcriptome were *** fresh and sterile RMT,we found that the molar proportion of propionic acid was increased on d 7 in the FR and SR groups and the bacterial composition was also significantly changed when compared with the CON group.A similarity analysis showed that the similarities between the CON group and FR or SR group on d 7 were 48.40%or 47.85%,whereas the similarities between microbiota on d 7 and 21 in the FR and SR groups were 68.34%or 66.85%.Dry matter intake and feed efficiency were not affected by ***β-hydroxybutyrate concentration in the FR group was decreased and significantly different lipids mainly included phosphatidylcholine and lysophosphatidylcholine containing polyunsaturated fatty *** transcriptomics analysis indicated acutephase response pathways were upregulated in the SR *** Our study suggests that RMT can shorten the transition process of the ruminal microbiota of postpartum dairy cows with no benefit on dry matter intake or feed *** with rumen fluid may not be a useful approach to promote the recovery of postpartum dairy cows.

Enhancement of comprehensive properties of Nb-Si based in-situ composites by Ho rare earth doping

This study examines the microstructure,mechanical properties(with a focus on room-temperature toughness),and oxidation resistance of Ho-doped NbDSi based in-situ *** base alloy consists of the coarse primary Nb_(5)Si_(3)phase and the Nb_(5)Si_(3)+Nbss(Nb solid solution)eutectic *** doping influences the solidification *** the Ho doping is higher than0.2 at%,the alloys transform into eutectic *** can be solid-solved in trace amounts in the Nbss ***,most of Ho forms a stable Ho oxide phase,which alleviates oxygen contamination problem to some ***,the interface separation between Ho oxide and other phases reduces the plastic deformation ***,with 0.4 at%Ho doping,the K_(Q)value is18.03 MPa·m^(1/2),which is 31.1%higher than that of the base *** strength of the Ho-doped alloys does not deteriorate with an increase in ***,the large network-like Ho_(2)O_(3)in the 0.8Ho alloy causes a decrease in toughness and *** addition,the Ho oxide phase effectively blocks the inward oxygen *** 0.8 at%Ho doping,the oxidation mass gain per unit area is 10.16 mg·cm^(2),which is 39.7%lower than that of the base alloy.

The relentless progress in the research of geographic spatial data models and their application scenarios is propelling an unprecedented rich Level of Detail(LoD)in realistic 3D representation and smart *** pursuit of rich details not only adds complexity to entity models but also poses significant computational challenges for model visualization and 3D *** paper introduces a novel method for deriving multi-LOD models,which can enhance the efficiency of spatial computing in complex 3D building ***,we extract multiple facades from a 3D building model(LoD3)and convert them into individual semantic facade *** the utilization of the developed facade layout graph,each semantic facade model is then transformed into a parametric ***,we explore the specification of geometric and semantic details in building facades and define three different LODs for facades,offering a unique ***,an innovative heuristic method is introduced to simplify the parameterized *** rigorous experimentation and evaluation,the effectiveness of the proposed parameterization methodology in capturing complex geometric details,semantic richness,and topological relationships of 3D building models is demonstrated.

Correlation between the neuroendocrine axis,microbial species,inflammatory response,and gastrointestinal symptoms in irritable bowel syndrome

BACKGROUND This study examines the complex relationships among the neuroendocrine axis,gut microbiome,inflammatory responses,and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).The findings provide new insights into the pathophysiology of IBS and suggest potential therapeutic targets for improving patient *** To investigate the interactions between the neuroendocrine axis,gut microbiome,inflammation,and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with *** Patients diagnosed with IBS between January 2022 and January 2023 were selected for the *** individuals undergoing routine check-ups during the same period served as the control *** were collected on neuroendocrine hormone levels,gut microbiome profiles,inflammatory biomarkers,and gastrointestinal symptomatology to analyze their interrelations and their potential roles in IBS *** IBS patients exhibited significant dysregulation of the neuroendocrine axis,with altered levels of cortisol,serotonin,and neuropeptides compared to healthy *** gut microbiome of IBS patients showed reduced diversity and specific alterations in bacterial genera,including Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus,and Faecalibacterium,which were associated with neuroendocrine ***,elevated levels of inflammatory markers,such as C-reactive protein,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α,were observed and correlated with the severity of gastrointestinal symptoms like abdominal pain,bloating,and altered bowel *** The findings suggest that targeting the neuroendocrine axis,gut microbiome,and inflammatory pathways may offer novel therapeutic strategies to alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life in IBS patients.

Dynamic Analysis of Incentive Policy Impacts on Recycling of Retired Batteries for Electric Vehicles

Electric Vehicles(EVs),as a low-carbon means of transportation,have promptly become popular worldwide in the past *** the lifespan of batteries is limited,massive of Electric Vehicle Batteries(EVBs)are being retired,resulting in a rapid increase in the demand for the recycling of retired EVBs in recent ***,due to high recycling costs and immature recycling technologies,EV manufacturers are facing significant challenges in recycling retired ***,as the country with the largest number of EV users in the world,is exploring effective incentive policies for the recycling of retired *** this context,we developed a system dynamics model to analyze the impact of incentive polices such as,recycling subsidies,technological progress,and carbon trading on the retired EVBs *** show that:1)recycling subsidies can improve the recycling ratios quickly in the short term,and dynamic subsidies are more efficient than static subsidies;2)the policy of technological advancement can reduce the recovery and cascade utilization cost,thus having a positive impact on battery recycling,but the policy effect has a time-delay;3)the carbon trading policy is unable to promote efficient recycling due to the current low carbon prices;4)dynamic subsidy and technological advancement policies complement each other,therefore,the combination of these two policies is the best way to promote the recycling of retired EVBs and reduce carbon *** is hoped that this study will contribute to the ongoing debate on policies for the industrialization of retired EVBs recycling.

Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)-based nanoreactors have attracted broad interest in many fields due to their voidconfinement ***,the inherent drawback of conventional nanoreactors is the lack of internal active sites,which limits their widespread ***,we report the construction of hierarchical COF(EB-TFP)nanoreactor with pre-synthesized polyoxometalates(POM,[PV_(2)W_(10)O_(40)]^(5–)(PV_(2)W_(10)))clusters encapsulated inside of COF(POM@COF).PV_(2)W_(10)@EB-TFP anchors nucleophilic-group(Br–ions)and PV_(2)W_(10)anion cluster within the COF framework via electrostatic interactions,which not only simplifies the reaction system but also enhances catalytic *** reaction performance of the PV_(2)W_(10)@EB-TFP nanoreactor can be tuned to achieve excellent catalytic activity in CO_(2)cycloaddition reaction(CCR)for~97.63%conversion and~100%selectivity under visible light irradiation.A mechanistic study based on density functional theory(DFT)calculations and insitu characterization was also carried *** summary,we have reported a method for achieving the uniform dispersion of POM single clusters into COF nanoreactor,demonstrating the potential of POM@COF nanoreactor for synergistic photothermal catalytic CO_(2)cycloaddition.

Aerosol-radiation interaction and its variation in North China within 2015–2019 period under continuous PM_(2.5)improvements

A study was conducted on aerosol-radiation interactions over six cities in this region within the 2015–2019 ***-Chem simulations on 2017 showed that based on the six-city average,the aerosol load(PM_(2.5)concentrations)of 121.9,49.6,43.3,and 66.3μg/m^(3)in January,April,July,and October,mainly lowered the level of downward shortwave radiation by 38.9,24.0,59.1,and 24.4 W/m~2and reduced the boundary layer height by 79.9,40.8,87.4,and 31.0 m,via scattering and absorbing solar *** sensitivity of meteorological changes to identical aerosol loads varied in the order July>January>October and ***,the cooling and stabilizing effects of aerosols further led to increases in PM_(2.5),by23.0,3.4,4.6,and 7.3μg/m^(3)respectively in the four *** sensitivity of the effect of aerosols on PM_(2.5)was greatest in January rather than in July,contrary to the effect on ***,a negative linear relation was observed between daily BLH reductions and aerosol loads in fall and winter,and between PM_(2.5)increases and aerosol loads in all *** the PM_(2.5)pollution improvements in this region,the aerosol radiative forcing was effectively *** should result in daily BLH increases of 10–24 m in fall and winter,and the estimates in Beijing agreed well with the corresponding results based on AMDAR ***,the reduction in aerosol radiation effects brought about daily PM_(2.5)decreases of 1.6-2.8μg/m^(3),accounting for 7.0%–17.7%in PM_(2.5)improvements.

Economical Quadrupedal Multi-Gait Locomotion via Gait-Heuristic Reinforcement Learning

In order to strike a balance between achieving desired velocities and minimizing energy consumption,legged animals have the ability to adopt the appropriate gait pattern and seamlessly transition to another if *** ability makes them more versatile and efficient when traversing natural terrains,and more suitable for long *** the same way,it is meaningful and important for quadruped robots to master this *** achieve this goal,we propose an effective gait-heuristic reinforcement learning framework in which multiple gait locomotion and smooth gait transitions automatically emerge to reach target velocities while minimizing energy *** incorporate a novel trajectory generator with explicit gait information as a memory mechanism into the deep reinforcement learning *** allows the quadruped robot to adopt reliable and distinct gait patterns while benefiting from a warm start provided by the trajectory ***,we investigate the key factors contributing to the emergence of multiple gait *** tested our framework on a closed-chain quadruped robot and demonstrated that the robot can change its gait patterns,such as standing,walking,and trotting,to adopt the most energy-efficient gait at a given ***,we deploy our learned controller to a quadruped robot and demonstrate the energy efficiency and robustness of our method.

The suspension state of crystals in the crystallizer is one of the important indicators for evaluating the adaptability of the *** study adopted the Euler-Eulerian two-fluid model to simulate and analyze the fluid motion of solid-liquid two-phase flow in the industrial-grade DTB crystallization kettle,as well as the phase suspension distribution of crystal *** main influencing factors investigated are:the heat transfer effect,the height of the bottom of the crystallizer,the number and position of the stirring paddle,crystal size and crystal volume *** on the research of Euler-Eulerian method to simulate fluids,the Euler-Lagrangian method was further used to simulate the motion state of particle phases with different particle sizes in the *** was found that the designed DTB crystallizer has good recycle mixing *** particles can be mixed evenly during the operation,which can fully realize the solid-liquid mixing and suspension effect of the drug under study.
