The exploitation of high performance redox-active substances is critically important for the development of non-aqueous redoxﬂow ***,three tetrathiofulvalene(TTF)derivatives with different substitution groups,namely TTF diethyl ester(TTFDE),TTF tetramethyl ester(TTFTM),and TTF tetraethyl ester(TTFTE),are prepared and their energy storage properties are *** has been found that the redox potential and solubility of these TTF derivatives in conventional carbonate electrolytes increases with the number of ester *** battery with a catholyte of 0.2 mol L^(-1) of TTFTE delivers a speciﬁc capacity of more than 10 Ah L^(-1) at the current density of 0.5 C with two discharge voltage platforms locating at as high as 3.85 and 3.60 V ***/Liþ.Its capacity retention can be improved from 2.34 Ah L^(-1) to 3.60 Ah L^(-1) after 100 cycles by the use of an anion exchange membrane to block the crossover of TTF *** excellent cycling stability of the TIF esters is supported by their well-delocalized electrons,as revealed by the density function theory ***,the introduction of more and larger electron-withdrawing groups is a promising strategy to simultaneously increase the redox-potential and solubility of redox-active ma-terials for non-aqueous redoxﬂow batteries.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries(AZIBs)are recognized as a promising energy storage system with intrinsic safety and low cost,but its applications still rely on the design of high-capacity and stable-cycling cathode *** this work,we present an intercalation mechanism-based cathode materials for AZIB,*** vanadium oxide with pre-intercalated manganese ions and lattice water(noted as MVOH).The synergistic effect between Mn^(2+)and lattice H_(2)O not only expands the interlayer spacing,but also significantly enhances the structural *** in-situ and ex-situ characterizations clarify the Zn^(2+)/H^(+)co–(de)intercalation mechanism of MVOH in aqueous *** demonstrated remarkable structure stability,excellent kinetic behaviors and ion-storage mechanism together enable the MVOH to demonstrate satisfactory specific capacity of 450 mA h g^(−1)at 0.2 A g^(−1),excellent rate performance of 288.8 mA h g^(−1)at 10 A g^(−1)and long cycle life over 20,000 cycles at 5 A g^(−1).This work provides a practical cathode material,and contributes to the understanding of the ion-intercalation mechanism and structural evolution of the vanadium-based cathode for AZIBs.

With drilling and seismic data of Transtensional(strike-slip)Fault System in the Ziyang area of the central Sichuan Basin,SW China plane-section integrated structural interpretation,3-D fault framework model building,fault throw analyzing,and balanced profile restoration,it is pointed out that the transtensional fault system in the Ziyang 3-D seismic survey consists of the northeast-trending F_(I)19 and F_(I)20 fault zones dominated by extensional deformation,as well as 3 sets of northwest-trending en echelon normal faults experienced dextral shear *** them,the F_(I)19 and F_(I)20 fault zones cut through the Neoproterozoic to Lower Triassic Jialingjiang Formation,presenting a 3-D structure of an“S”-shaped *** before Permian and during the Early Triassic,the F_(I)19 and F_(I)20 fault zones underwent at least two periods of structural ***,the 3 sets of northwest-trending en echelon normal faults are composed of small normal faults arranged in pairs,with opposite dip directions and partially left-stepped *** before Permian,they had formed almost,restricting the eastward growth and propagation of the F_(I)19 fault *** F_(I)19 and F_(I)20 fault zones communicate multiple sets of source rocks and reservoirs from deep to shallow,and the timing of fault activity matches well with oil and gas generation *** there were favorable Cambrian-Triassic sedimentary facies and reservoirs developing on the local anticlinal belts of both sides of the F_(I)19 and F_(I)20 fault zones,the major reservoirs in this area are expected to achieve breakthroughs in oil and gas exploration.

Size effects are a well-documented phenomenon in heterogeneous catalysis,typically attributed to alterations in geometric and electronic *** this study,we investigate the influence of catalyst size in the preparation of carbon nanotube(CNT)and the hydrogenation of 4,6-dinitroresorcinol(DNR)using Fe_(2)O_(3)and Pt catalysts,*** Fe_(2)O_(3)/Al_(2)O_(3)catalysts were synthesized for CNT growth through catalytic chemical vapor *** findings reveal a significant influence of Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticle size on the structure and yield of ***,CNT produced with Fe_(2)O_(3)/Al_(2)O_(3)containing 28%(mass)Fe loading exhibits abundant surface defects,an increased area for metal-particle immobilization,and a high carbon *** makes it a promising candidate for DNR *** this catalyst support,we further investigate the size effects of Pt nanoparticles on DNR *** Pt catalysts demonstrate a preference for 4,6-diaminoresorcinol generation at(100)sites,whereas smaller Pt catalysts are more susceptible to electronic *** kinetics insights obtained from this study have the potential to pave the way for the development of more efficient catalysts for both CNT synthesis and DNR hydrogenation.

Electroreduction offers an alternative to generate high active intermediates from electrophiles(halides, alkenes, etc.) in organic synthesis. However, it still remains challenge to enable the transformations in controlled fashion for substrates with similar reduction potentials. Herein, an electroreductive arylcarboxylation of styrenes with aryl halides and CO2promoted by an organomediator has been developed. The reaction exhibits the remarkable reactivity control between styrenes and aryl halides bearing very similar reduction potentials, which is enabled by the addition of a simple organic mediator. The mediated process for different kinds of aryl halides(iodides and bromides) could be achieved by simply tuning the electronic effect of the skeleton of naphthalene. This protocol displays a broad substrate scope and the extension to late-stage modification of biorelevant molecules and their derivatives showed a bright prospect. Moreover, density functional theory(DFT) calculations and mechanistic studies have been conducted and provide solid support to rationalize the selectivity and reactivity control observed.

Collective behaviors efficiently impart benefits to a diversity of species ranging from bacteria to *** larvae tend to cluster and form coordinated digging groups under crowded conditions,yet understanding the rules governing this behavior is in its *** primarily took advantage of the Drosophila model to investigate cooperative foraging ***,we report that Drosophila-related species and the black soldier fly have evolved a conserved strategy of cluster digging in food ***,we investigated relative factors,including larval stage,population density,and food stiffness and quality,that affect the cluster digging ***,oxygen supply through the posterior breathing spiracles is necessary for the organization of digging *** importantly,we theoretically devise a mathematical model to accurately calculate how the cluster digging behavior expands food resources by diving depth,cross-section area,and food *** found that cluster digging behavior approximately increases 2.2 fold depth,1.7-fold cross-section area,and 1.9 fold volume than control groups,*** of food sources significantly facilitates survival,larval development,and reproductive success of Drosophila challenged with competition for limited food resources,thereby conferring trophic benefits to fitness in ***,our findings highlight that the cluster digging behavior is a pivotal behavior for their adaptation to food scarcity,advancing a better understanding of how this cooperative behavior confers fitness benefits in the animal kingdom.

On February 6,2023,a devastating earthquake with a moment magnitude of M_(W)7.8 struck the town of Pazarcik in south-central Türkiye,followed by another powerful earthquake with a moment magnitude of M_(W)7.6 that struck the nearby city of Elbistan 9 h *** study the characteristics of surface deformation caused by this event and the influence of fault rupture,this study calculated the static coseismic deformation of 56 stations and dynamic displacement waveforms of 15 stations using data from the Turkish national fixed global navigation satellite system(GNSS)network.A maximum static coseismic displacement of 0.38 m for the M_(W)7.8 Kahramanmaras earthquake was observed at station ANTE,36 km from the epicenter,and a maximum dynamic coseismic displacement of 4.4 m for the M_(W)7.6 Elbistan earthquake was observed at station EKZ1,5 km from the *** rupture-slip distributions of the two earthquakes were inverted using GNSS coseismic deformation as a *** results showed that the Kahramanmaras earthquake rupture segment was distinct and exposed on the ground,resulting in significant rupture slip along the Amanos and Pazarcik fault segments of the East Anatolian *** maximum slip in the Pazarcik fault segment was 10.7 m,and rupture occurred at depths of 0–15 *** the Cardak fault region,the Elbistan earthquake caused significant ruptures at depths of 0–12 km,with the largest amount of slip reaching 11.6 *** Coulomb stress change caused by the Kahramanmaras earthquake rupture along the Cardak fault segment was approximately 2 bars,and the area of increased Coulomb stress corresponded to the subsequent rupture region of the M_(W)7.6 ***,it is likely that the M_(W)7.8 earthquake triggered or promoted the M_(W)7.6 *** on the cumulative stress impact of the M_(W)7.8 and M_(W)7.6 events,the southwestern segment of the East Anatolian Fault,specifically the Amanos fault segment,experienced a Coulomb rupture stress change exc

Intricate Fault Systems in Longmenshan Structural Belt's Northern End: Exploring Structural Evolution and Seismic Rupture Behavior in the Eastern Tibetan Plateau

The Longmenshan Structural Belt on the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau experienced the impactful Mw 7.9 2008 Wenchuan earthquake， causing a 350 km surface rupture. Traditional models attribute this to the Beichuan and Pengguan faults， but our research reveals a complex fault system at the northern end， with inconsistencies in surface rupture， aftershock distribution， and focal mechanisms. We integrates shallow geology， active source seismic reflection， and magnetotelluric profiling to establish a deep structural model for the northern end of the Longmenshan Structural Belt. This area exhibits dominant reverse thrust nappe tectonics， and analyzing the tectonic evolution history provides insights into deformation propagation from the orogenic belt toward the Sichuan Basin. Focal mechanism analysis and relocated aftershock data reveals two distinct types of seismogenic structures in the northern end of the Longmenshan Structural Belt. In the middle to northern segments， the reverse fault type is attributed to reactivated pre-existing faults. Conversely， at the northern end， the strike-slip fault type originates from high-angle co-seismic rupture cutting through pre-existing reverse faults. This study enhances our understanding of fault complexity and seismic mechanisms in the northeastern Longmenshan Structural Belt， providing new insights into regional tectonics.
