Work-function-induced interfacial electron redistribution of MoO_(2)/WO_(2) heterostructures for high-efficiency electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction

The engineering of the electronic configurations of active sites,together with the production of more accessible active sites through heterostructure design,has been established as a forceful methodology for boosting water electrolysis ***,a facile approach is developed to fabricate well-dispersed MoO_(2) and WO_(2) nanoparticles with abundant heterointerfaces entrapped in n,P-doped carbon nanofibers(referred to as MoO_(2)/WO_(2)@n,P-CnFs hereafter)as hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)electrocatalysts in alkaline and acidic *** spectroscopic analyses and theoretical findings manifest that the heterointerface formed by the work function modulation of MoO_(2)/WO_(2) triggers the spontaneous electron redistribution from MoO_(2)to WO_(2) and a built-in electric field,which is essential to promote water adsorption,optimize the H-intermediate adsorption energy,result in the enhanced charge transfer efficiency,and ultimately increase the intrinsic HER ***,the intimate confinement of MoO_(2)/WO_(2) heterostructures in the porous carbon substrate can restrain the active sites from unfavorable coarsening and detachment,thus ensuring facilitated HER kinetics and outstanding structural *** a result,MoO_(2)/WO_(2)@n,P-CnFs exhibit superior catalytic HER performance in acidic and basic solutions,requiring 118 and 95 mV overpotentials to achieve 10 mA·cm^(−2),respectively,surpassing a number of reported non-noble metal-based *** work provides guidelines for the rational design and construction of special metallic heterocomponents with optimized interfacial electronic structure for various electrochemical technologies.

Construction of a multifunctional Ti3C2Tx MXene/g-C3n4 artificial protective layer for dendrite-free aqueous Zn-ion batteries

The electrochemical utilization of Zn anodes in aqueous batteries is hampered by the intricate and interconnected issues of Zn dendrite growth,H2evolution and Zn corrosion *** this study,a multifunctional protective layer comprising MXene and graphitic carbon nitride （g-C3n4） was constructed using a self-assembly *** MXene/g-C3n4protective layer exhibited robust zincophilic characteristics,which facilitated a uniform distribution of the electric field and ensured a sufficient influx of Zn2+.This reduces the Zn2+nucleation barrier and prevents dendrite *** addition,the hydrophobic nature of the protective layer,coupled with its negative charge,can repel SO42-and select water molecules from the electrolyte,which aids in mitigating corrosion and *** symmetric Zn cell coated with the MXene/g-C3n4protective layer showed remarkable stability,achieving over 2000 h of reversible cycling at1 mA·***,the MXene/g-C3n4-coated Zn anode paired with a sodium-doped V2O5cathode （nVO）exhibited enhanced cycling capability over 1500 cycles.

Polythiourethanes(PTU)and polythioesters(PTE)derived from renewable sources are emerging sustainable polymers for their excellent degradability and ***,P(TU-alt-TE)copolymers have been rare and challenging to ***,we report the efficient synthesis of novel P(TU-alt-TE)copolymers via the alternating copolymerization of n-thiocarboxyanhydrides(nTA)/episufides(ES)and provide mechanistic insight into the alternating chain propagation process via density functional theory(DFT)*** incorporation of ESs into traditional peptide backbone is capable of adjusting the glass transition temperature below thermal decomposition temperature,which confers better thermal processability by regulating the rigidity of the backbone and the hydrogen bond interaction among the polymer *** PTUs with tailored properties are accessible by altering the feeding ratio of nTAs and(bifunctional)***,the thiourethane in the backbone can endow interesting underwater adhesion properties to the *** the broad scope of nTA and ES monomers,this method is expected to provide a promising and general route to a wide range of P(TU-alt-TE)copolymers with diverse properties.

Synthesis and reactivity of cobalt dinitrogen complex supported by nonsymmetrical pincer ligand

A nonsymmetrical Pnn pincer ligand[6-(^(t)Bu_(2)PnH)C_(5)H_(4)n-2-(3-Mes)C_(3)H_(2)n_(2)]and its corresponding cobalt-n_(2)complex were synthesized and *** the stoichiometric reaction of the Pnn ligand lithium salt with CoCl_(2),the complex 3,(Pnn)CoCl,was ***,reduction of 3 with naBHEt3under a dinitrogen atmosphere yielded complex 5,(Pnn)Co(Ⅰ)(η^(1)-n_(2)).Single-crystal X-ray analysis,IR spectrum,and DFT calculations revealed that the dinitrogen in 5 was only weakly reduced by the cobalt *** reactions of 5 with carbon monoxide and 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide gave carbonyl and isocyanide complexes 6 and 7 with the release of n_(2),***,these cobalt complexes,especially complex 5,demonstrated the capacity to convert dinitrogen to n(TMS)_(3)with moderate efficiency.

Melting geodynamics reveals a subduction origin for the Purang ophiolite,Tibet,China

The debate regarding whether the Yarlung-Zangbo ophiolite(YZO)on the south of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,formed in a mid-ocean ridge(MOR)or a supra-subduction zone(SSZ)setting has remained *** we present petrological,mineralogical,and geochemical data associated with modeling melting geodynamics of the mantle peridotites from the Purang ophiolite in the western segment of the Yarlung-Zangbo Suture Zone(YZSZ)to explore its tectonic *** Purang lherzolites are characterized by the protogranular texture and have abyssal-peridotite-like mineral compositions,including low Cr^(#)(20-30)and TiO_(2) contents(n spinel,high Al_(2)O_(3)(2.9wt%-4.4wt%)and CaO(1.9wt%-3.7wt%)contents in orthopyroxene and LREE-depletion in *** of these lherzolites can be modeled by~11%dynamic melting of the DMM source with a small fraction of melt(~0.5%)entrapped within the source,a similar melting process to typical abyssal *** Purang harzburgites are characterized by the porphyroclastic texture and exhibit highly refractory mineral compositions such as high spinel Cr^(#)(40-68),low orthopyroxene Al_(2)O_(3)(nd CaO(n these harzburgites are enriched in Sr(up to 6.0 ppm)and LREE[(Ce)n=0.02-0.4],but depleted in Ti(200 ppm,on average)and HREE[(Yb)nntly,the more depleted samples tend to have higher clinopyroxene Sr and LREE *** observations indicate an open-system hydrous melting with a continuous influx of slab fluid at a subduction *** modeled results show that these harzburgites could be formed by 19%-23%hydrous melting with the supply rate of slab fluid at 0.1%-1%.The lower clinopyroxene V/Sc ratios in harzburgites than those in lherzolites suggest a high oxidation stage of the melting system of harzburgites,which is consistent with a hydrous melting environment for these *** is therefore concluded that the Purang ophiolite has experienced a transformat

Cu single atoms embedded on hollow g-C_(3)n_(4)nanospheres with enhanced charge transfer and separation for efficient photocatalysis

Establishing an effective charge transfer mechanism in carbon nitride(g-C_(3)n_(4))to enhance its photocatalytic activity remains a limiting ***,the combination design of a single Cu atom with hollow g-C_(3)n_(4)nanospheres(Cu-n_(3)structure)has been proven to offer significant opportunities for this crucial ***,this structure endows two pathways for charge transfer in the reaction,namely,the n atoms in the three-dimensional planar structure are only bonded with a single Cu atom,and charge transfer occurs between the plane and the layered structure due to the bending of the interlayered g-C_(3)n_(4)hollow ***,Cu-n_(3)and hollow nanosphere structures have been certified to greatly enhance the efficiency of photogenerated carrier separation and transfer between the layers and planes by ultrafast spectral *** a result,this catalyst possesses unparalleled photocatalytic ***,the hydrogen production rate up to 2040μmol h^(−1) g^(−1),which is 51 times that of pure C_(3)n_(4)under visible light *** photocatalytic degradation performance of tetracycline and oxidation performance of benzene is also expressed,with a degradation rate of 100%,a conversion of 97.3%and a selectivity of 99.9%.This work focuses on the structure-activity relationship to provide the possibilities for the development of potential photocatalytic materials.

Piperine regulates the circadian rhythms of hepatic clock gene expressions and gut microbiota in high-fat diet-induced obese rats

The interplay between the host circadian clock and microbiota has significant influences on host metabolism processes,and circadian desynchrony triggered by high-fat diet(HFD)is closely related to metabolic *** this study,the modulatory effects of piperine(PIP)on lipid metabolism homeostasis,gut microbiota community and circadian rhythm of hepatic clock gene expressions in obese rats were *** Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were fed with normal diet(nD),HFD and HFD supplemented with PIP,*** 9 weeks,rats were sacrificed with tissue and fecal samples collected for circadian *** showed that chronic PIP administration ameliorated the obesity-induced alterations in lipid metabolism and dysregulation of hepatic clock gene expressions in obese *** gut microbial communities studied through 16S rRnA sequencing showed that PIP ameliorated the imbalanced nicrobiota and recovered the circadian rhythm of Lactobacillaceae,Desulfovibrionaceae,Paraprevotellaceae,and *** fecal metabolic profiles indicated that 3-dehydroshikimate,cytidine and lithocholyltaurine were altered,which were involved in the amino acid and fatty acid metabolism *** findings could provide theoretical basis for PIP to work as functional food to alleviate the lipid metabolism disorder,circadian rhythm misalignment,and gut microbiota dysbiosis with wide applications in the food and pharmaceutic industries.

The Taiyuan Basin is of importance for intraplate tectonic deformation in north China and contains Cenozoic strata with a maximum thickness of 3800 m.A～853.5-m-deep borehole (ZK01) with an overall core recovery rate of 85.09%was drilled at Yuci (37°35'37?n,112°39'47?E) in the central Taiyuan Basin,to obtain high-resolution records of paleomagnetism,paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental conditions,and depositional environment of the *** obtained magnetic polarity sequence consists of 13 normal and 12 reverse zones,which correspond to C1n-C4An.2n of the geomagnetic polarity time *** data show that the evolution of ZK01 core covers the interval from 8.1 Ma to the present,and the bottoms of Pliocene,Quaternary,and Middle Pleistocene were identified in Taiyuan Basin,with a sedimentary accumulation rate ranging from 62.5 m/Ma to 175.9 m/*** data reveal that the source rocks in the study area underwent intense weathering and the sediments mainly formed in a semi-arid and oxygen-rich *** addition,paleoclimatic changes occurred at～7 Ma,3.8 Ma,and 1.7 Ma,which can be closely related to the tectonic uplift of the Loess Plateau and Tibetan Plateau,as well as the variations in the Asian monsoon and associated regional and global climatic change.
