Multifunctional flexible devices for human motion detection and thermal management raised great at-tention as the problem of the aging population is becoming more and more ***,it is still a challenge to endow the devices with excellent stability and wide application *** we prepared a hydrophobic and conductive fabric-based strain sensor for smart fabric via successively coating with poly-dopamine(PDA),polyaniline(PANI),polypyrrole(PPy),and polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)through in-situ polymerization and dip-coating,which could be used for strain sensor and wearable heater both in air and *** obtained sample exhibited a fast electrical response in 500 ms and could withstand 10,000 times stretching-releasing cycles,additionally,the sample exhibited satisfactory electro-thermal and photo-thermal *** a whole,the multifunctional fabric-based devices with excellent performances show great potential to be applied in medical monitoring and personal care,especially for aged and disabled persons.

Metal-free defective carbon materials with abundant active sites have been widely studied as low-cost and efficient oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysts in metal-air ***,the active sites in defective carbon are easily subjected to serious oxidation or hydroxylation during ORR or storage,leading to rapid degradation of ***,we design a van der Waals heterostructure comprised of vitamin C(VC)and defective carbon(DC)to not only boost the activity but also enhance the durability and storage stability of the DC-VC *** formation of VC van der Waals between DC and VC is demonstrated to be an effective strategy to protect the defect active sites from oxidation and hydroxylation degradation,thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical durability and storage anti-aging ***,the DC-VC van der Waals can reduce the reaction energy barrier to facilitate the *** findings are also confirmed by operando Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory *** is necessary to mention that the preparation of this DC-VC electrocatalyst can be scaled up,and the ORR performance of the largely produced electrocatalyst is demonstrated to be very ***,the DC-VC-based aluminum-air batteries display very competitive power density with good performance maintenance.

Objectives The predisposition of intracranial atherosclerotic disease(ICAD)to East Asians over Caucasians infers a genetic basis which,however,remains largely *** prevalence of vascular risk factors(VRFs)in Chinese over Caucasian patients who had a stroke,and shared risk factors of ICAD with other stroke subtypes indicate genes related to VRFs and/or other stroke subtypes may also contribute to *** Unrelated symptomatic patients with ICAD were recruited for genome sequencing(GS,60-fold).Rare and potentially deleterious single-nucleotide variants(SNVs)and small insertions/deletions(InDels)were detected in genome-wide and correlated to genes related to VRFs and/or other stroke *** aneuploidies,copy number variants(CNVs)and chromosomal structural rearrangements were also ***,candidate genes were used for pathway and gene ontology enrichment *** Among 92 patients(mean age at stroke onset 61.0±9.3 years),GS identified likely ICAD-associated rare genomic variants in 54.3%(50/92)of ***-eight patients(52.2%,48/92)had 59 rare SNVs/InDels reported or predicted to be deleterious in genes related to VRFs and/or other stroke *** of the 59 rare variants were identified in local subjects without ICAD(n=126).31 SNVs/InDels were related to conventional VRFs,and 28 were discovered in genes related to other stroke *** study also showed that rare CNVs(n=7)and structural rearrangement(a balanced translocation)were potentially related to ICAD in 8.7%(8/92)of ***,candidate genes were significantly enriched in pathways related to lipoprotein metabolism and cellular lipid catabolic *** Our GS study suggests a role of rare genomic variants with various variant types contributing to the development of ICAD in Chinese patients.

In order to determine the trend in the number of employees covered by workers＇ compensation （wc） and trends in the burdens and benefits of wc, and to discuss the possible factors that might influence those trends. A relevant national statistical data from 1995 to 2012 are collected and analyzed. In the results, we found that the proportion of employees covered by wc to total employees in urban areas increased from 13.7% in 1995 to 51.2% in 2012 and also exhibited a significant degree of polarization. In 2012, 27.3% of the peasant workers were covered by wc, which accounted for 37.8% of the total employees covered by wc. Factors found to impact the number of employees covered by wc and trends in the burdens and benefits of wc from 1995 to date in China included urbanization, represented by the migration of farm labor to urban areas, changes in industry mix, regional disparity, GDP movements, and changes to legislation on wc and occupational health and safety. It still has a long way to go to reduce work-related injuries and occupational diseases （ODs） to levels comparable with other industrialized countries.

Recently, the non-centrosymmetric wc-type materials(i.e., MoP, ZrTe, TaN, etc) have attracted extensive interest due to the discovery of their topological *** means of the first-principles calculations, here we have investigated the structural, thermodynamic, elastic, and electronic properties of the wc-type MX compounds(TiS, TiSe, TiTe, ZrS, ZrSe,ZrTe, HfS, HfSe, and HfTe).Among these nine compounds, five of them(TiS, ZrS, ZrSe0.9, ZrTe, and Hf0.92 Se) have been experimentally synthesized to crystallize in the wc-type structure and other four members have never been *** calculations demonstrated that they are all structurally, thermodynamically, and dynamically stable, indicating that all of them should be possibly *** have also derived their elastic constants of single crystalline and their bulk and shear moduli in terms of the *** ***, in similarity to ZrTe, all these compounds have been theoretically derived to be topological *** TiS is unique because of the coexistence of the Dirac nodal lines(DNLs) and sixfold degenerate nodal points(sixfold DNPs), the other eight members are revealed to exhibit coexisted Weyl nodes(WPs) and triply degenerate nodal points(TDNPs).Their electronic and topological properties have been further discussed.

The vacuolar proton-pumping pyrophosphatase gene(VPP)is often used to enhance plant drought tolerance via genetic *** this study,the drought tolerance of four transgenic inbred maize lines overexpressing ZmVPP1(PH4CV-T,PH6wc-T,Chang7-2-T,and Zheng58-T)and their transgenic hybrids was evaluated at various *** normal and drought conditions,the height and fresh weight were greater for the four transgenic inbred maize lines than for the wild-type(WT)controls at the germination and seedling ***,the transgenic plants exhibited enhanced photosynthetic efficiency at the seedling *** irrigated and non-irrigated fields,the four transgenic lines grew normally,but with increased ear weight and yield compared with the WT ***,the ear weight and yield of the transgenic hybrids resulting from the PH4CV-T×PH6wc-W and Chang7-2-T×Zheng58-W crosses increased in the non-irrigated *** results demonstrated that the growth and drought tolerance of four transgenic inbred maize lines with improved photosynthesis were enhanced by the overexpression of ***,the Chang7-2 and PH4CV transgenic lines may be useful for future genetic improvements of maize hybrids to increase drought tolerance.
