Dear Editor, The main components of multi-view geometry and computer vision are robust pose estimation and feature matching. This letter discusses how to recover two-view geometry and match features between a pair of images, and presents MCNet(a multiscale clustering network) as an algorithm for extracting multiscale features. It can identify the true inliers from the established putative correspondences, where outliers may degenerate the geometry estimation. In particular, the proposed MCNet is based on graph clustering.

Seventeen models participating in the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 5（CMIP5） activity are compared on their historical simulation of the South China Sea（SCS） ocean heat content（OHC） in the upper 300 m. Ishii＇s temperature data, based on the World Ocean Database 2005（WOD05） and World Ocean Atlas 2005（WOA05）, is used to assess the model performance by comparing the spatial patterns of seasonal OHC anomaly（OHCa） climatology, OHC climatology, monthly OHCa climatology, and interannual variability of OHCa. The spatial patterns in Ishii＇s data set show that the seasonal SCS OHCa climatology, both in winter and summer, is strongly affected by the wind stress and the current circulations in the SCS and its neighboring areas. However, the CMIP5 models present rather different spatial patterns and only a few models properly capture the dominant features in Ishii＇s pattern. Among them, GFDL-ESM2 G is of the best performance. The SCS OHC climatology in the upper 300 m varies greatly in different models. Most of them are much greater than those calculated from Ishii＇s data. However, the monthly OHCa climatology in each of the 17 CMIP5 models yields similar variation and magnitude as that in Ishii＇s. As for the interannual variability, the standard deviations of the OHCa time series in most of the models are somewhat larger than those in Ishii＇s. The correlation between the interannual time series of Ishii＇s OHCa and that from each of the 17 models is not satisfactory. Among them, BCC-CSM1.1 has the highest correlation to Ishii＇s, with a coefficient of about 0.6.

Tactical mobile ad hoc network （MANET） is a collection of mobile nodes forming a temporary network, without the aid of pre-established network infrastructure. The routing protocol has a crucial impact on the network performance in battlefields. Link reliability based hybrid routing （LRHR） is proposed, which is a novel hybrid routing protocol, for tactical MANET. Contrary to the traditional single path routing strategy, multiple paths are established between a pair of source-destination nodes. In the hybrid routing strategy, the rate of topological change provides a natural mechanism for switching dynamically between table-driven and on-demand routing. The simulation results indicate that the performances of the protocol in packet delivery ratio, routing overhead, and average end-to-end delay are better than the conventional routing protocol.

Building energy modeling,also known as building energy simulation,has developed rapidly in recent years and plays a crucial role in building life-cycle *** can be employed in the design phase to predict the energy consumption of different design schemes and evaluate various control and retrofitting measures at the operation *** such simulations,it is commonly understood and accepted that the simulated relative differences are more reliable than the predictions of absolute energy ***,whether this common understanding is true is yet to be thoroughly *** this study,we investigate the simulated relative differences and the extent to which they are affected by the degree of model input *** and Monte Carlo approaches are adopted for the *** results indicate that the simulated relative differences are not as reliable as expected,and the outputs strongly depend on the degree of the model input *** the degree of deviation is less than 15%or the model inputs are within reasonable ranges,the simulated relative differences match the baseline obtained using Monte Carlo ***,the model’s error indicators meet the requirements of the ASHRAE Guideline 14–2014 when the degree of input deviation is below 15%.

The simulation of an ocean general circulation model for the earth simulator （OFES） is transformed to an isopycnal coordinate to investigate the spatial structure and seasonal variability of the Mindanao Under- current （MUC）. The results show that （1） potential density surfaces, δ0=26.5 and δ0=27.5, can be chosen to encompass the M UC layer. Southern Pacilic tropical water （SPTW）, Antarctic Intermediate Water （AAIW） and high potential density water （HPDW） constitute the MUC. （2） Climatologically, the MOC exists in the form of dual-core. In some months, the dual-core structure changes to a single-core structure. （3） Choosing section at 8°N for calculating the transport of the MUC transport is reliable. Potential density constraint provides a good method for calculating the transport of the MOC. （4） The annual mean transport of the MUC is 8.34 × 106 m3/s and varies considerably with seasons： stronger in late spring and weaker in winter.

A Phase-field Model to Simulate Recrystallization in an AZ31 Mg Alloy in Comparison of Experimental Data

A model has been established to simulate the realistic spatio-temporal microstructure evolution in recrystallization of a magnesium alloy using the phase field approach. A set of rules have been proposed to decide the real physical value of all parameters in the model. The thermodynamic software THERMOCALC is applied to determine the local chemical free energy and strain energy, which is added to the free energy density of grains before recrystallization. The Arrhenius formula is used to describe boundary mobility and the activity energy is suggested with a value of zinc segregation energy at the boundary. However, the mobility constant in the formula was found out by fitting to a group of grain size measurements during recrystallization of the alloy. The boundary range is suggested to decide the gradient parameters in addition of fitting to the experimental boundary energy value. These parameter values can be regarded as a database for other similar simulations and the fitting rules can also be applied to build up databases for any other alloy systems. The simulated results show a good agreement with reported experimental measurement of the alloy at the temperatures from 300 to 400℃ for up to 100 min but not at 250℃. This implies a mechanism variation in activity energy of the boundary mobility in the alloy at low temperature.

A Concordant Shift Model for Flow in Bulk Metallic Glasses

The homogeneous plastic flow in bulk metallic glasses （BMGs） must be elucidated by an appropriate atomistic mechanism. It is proposed that a so-called concordant shifting model, based on rearrangements of five-atom subclusters, can describe the plastic strain behaviour of BMGs in a temperature range from room temperature to the supercooled liquid region. To confirm the effectiveness of the atomic concordant shifting model, a comparative investigation between the vacancy/atom model and the concordant shifting model is carried out based on the estimation of the strain rate deduced from two models. Our findings suggest that the atomic concordant shifting model rather than the vacancy/atom exchange model can well predict the large strain rate in the superplasticity of BMGs.

In order to better understand the stall process of a contra-rotating compressor,the detailed characteristic and multi-channel unsteady pressure signals have been achieved by a special layout of high-frequency response pressure *** array consists of thirty-one high-frequency response dynamic sensors coupled with two optical fiber sensors that were installed on the compressor casing in the direction of circumferential and chordwise of the upstream and downstream of the contra-rotating rotors.A significant hysteresis loop during the stall-recovery process of the contra-rotating compressor was captured *** time series of unsteady signals when the compressor was working on the point of stall occurrence,the period of fully stall,and recovery stall were studied and *** show a large scale,and low-speed disturbance occurred abruptly at the leading-edge plane of the rear rotor and expands until it passes through both *** single stall cell occupied a circumferential range of 135° and moved in the direction of the rear rotor with an 8.3%shaft *** the mass flow rate dropped,the stall cell speed *** the stall recovery process,the rotational speed of disturbance suddenly increased from 7.5%to 18%and even increased to 47%just before the moment when flow recovered *** with the rear rotor,the front one dropped out unstable conditions earlier.
