文章介绍了美国明尼苏达大学(University of Minnesota)的一项有关仔猪福利方面的研究。此项研究的目的是确定料槽对保育期生长快慢和仔猪行为的影响。保育猪n=192;初始重(7.4±1.6)kg)置于24个圈栏中(每圈8头),其中12个猪圈配备了2个槽口的料槽(另外12个圈配5个槽口料槽)。根据商品猪上市时校正体重,将猪分为生长较慢(SG)和生长较快(FG)两组(SGd.第21天对仔猪的行为进行录像记录,9周龄时对96头试验猪进行摄食率测定。研究结果表明,属于SG组的猪用于饮水的时间较FG组要长(P<0.05);与配有2个槽口的相比,属于SG组里配有5个槽口圈栏的猪站或走的时间要少(P<0.05)。这些结果表明,提供更多槽口的喂料器可能有利于改善猪的福利。

在407例新英格兰医学中心后循环登记患者中，59%为不伴TIA的卒中，24%在卒中前有TIA，16%仅表现为TIA。栓塞是最常见的卒中机制（占40%，其中24%为心源性栓塞，14%为动脉-动脉栓塞，2%两者兼有）。在32%的患者中，大动脉闭塞性损害导致血流动力学性脑缺血。梗死最常出现在后循环远段供血区（脑干腹侧、小脑上部以及枕叶和颞叶），近段（延髓和小脑后下部）和中段（桥脑和小脑前下部）供血区受累的比例相当。148例患者存在至少累及1支大动脉的重度闭塞性损害（狭窄〉50%），134例患者有单侧或双侧动脉受累。最常见的闭塞部位是椎动脉颅外段（52例患者，15例双侧）、椎动脉颅内段（40例患者，12例双侧）和基底动脉（46例患者）。动脉-动脉栓塞是椎动脉闭塞性疾病患者最常见的脑梗死发病机制。30d.死率为3.6%。发病机制为栓塞，远段供血区受累和基底动脉闭塞性疾病患者的预后最差。具有多处动脉狭窄部位的患者转归最好。他们通常经年累月地发生TIA。

CSP (concentrating solar power) is a commercially available renewable energy technology capable of harnessing the immense solar resource in southern Europe, the MENA region (Mid.le East and.North Africa), and.elsewhere. This paper summarises the find.ngs of a stud. by the European Acad.mies Science Ad.isory Council which has examined.the current status and.d.velopment challenges of CSP, and.consequently has evaluated.the potential contribution of CSP in Europe and.the MENA region to 2050. It id.ntifies the actions that will be required.by scientists, engineers, policy makers, politicians, business and.investors alike, to enable this vast solar resource to make a major contribution to establishing a sustainable energy system. The stud. conclud.s that cost red.ctions of 50%-60% in CSP electricity may reasonably be expected.in the next 10-15 years, enabling the technology to be cost competitive with fossil-fired.power generation at some point between 2020 and.2030. Incorporation of storage d.livers ad.ed.value in enabling CSP to d.liver d.spatchable power. Incentive schemes will be need.d.in Europe and.MENA countries to enable this point to be achieved. Such schemes should.reflect the true value of electricity to the grid. effectively d.ive research and.d.velopment, and.ensure transparency of performance and.cost d.ta.
