Eco-geotechnical measures for debris flow mitigation and control have attracted wide attention,but the mitigation effect is lack of quantitative evaluation of coordinated *** order to evaluate the debris flow mitigation effect in the combinations of geotechnical engineering and ecological engineering,this study investigated the different trends of debris flows behaviour based on the sediment deposition on the gully bed and the loose material on the ***,this research proposed a new model involving vegetation coverage,source gravity energy and debris flow volume based on vegetation-erosion *** new model validated that the debris flow volume was proportional to the gravity energy of gravel and rock fragments on the hillslope and inversely proportional to the vegetation coverage in a dry-hot valley ***,a typical area in the valley of the Xiaojiang River in Yunnan Province,China was quantified with the new *** results showed that under different gravity energy conditions,the implementation order of check dam construction and afforestation was important for debris flow mitigation.

In recent years, flash flood disasters have occurred frequently in southwest China due to the increased frequency of extreme climate events. To solve this problem, great efforts have been made in studying the process of flash flood. However, little attention was paid on bearing body of hazard, the clusters of buildings. Thus the real disaster mechanism of flash flood remains ***, based on the experiments of artificial flash floods in a conceptual solid model, this paper focuses on the flood-impacted inundation characteristics of the building clusters at different locations of the gully model, in order to obtain a better understanding of the disaster process and the interaction between the flash floods and building clusters. The results showed that, in a typical smallscale flash flood gully with hot and dry climate, 1)clusters of buildings on an alluvial fan could reduce about 35% of the flooding area by blocking the diffusion of the flood to the depression areas, and could also promote the deposition in lower reaches of the river channel by blocking the overbank flow from going back into the channel, making the width-depth ratio of the channel larger. 2) The flash flood rates of disaster and hazard on the alluvial fan are generally higher than that of the inner gully. For the inner gully,buildings located on the beaches along the lower river and the transitional areas of the straight channel and channel bends can easily be affected because of their lower elevations. For the alluvial fan, buildings nearby the meanders suffer the greatest impacts because of bank collapsing and flooding. 3) The safe vertical distance from a building to the river channel is 13 m for the buildings in the inner gully under extreme floods. Below this threshold, the smaller the vertical distance is, the greater the risk exposure is. α-AlH_(3)is regarded as one of the most promising hydrogen storage materials due to its high hydrogen storage capacity(10.1 wt.%,148 kg·m^(-3)).However,in practical applications,the associated hydrogen release temperature remains relatively *** effectively address this issue,hollow structured Fe@C nanorods derived from Fe-MOF are introduced as highly efficient catalyst to optimize the dehydrogenation properties ofα-AlH_(3).Comparatively,the initial hydrogen release temperature ofα-AlH_(3)+3 wt.%Fe@C is reduced to 94.2℃,which is significantly lower than that of pureα-AlH_(3)(137.8℃).At 100 and 120℃,it exhibits hydrogen capacities of 5.38 wt.%and 7.47 wt.%,respectively,whereas pureα-AlH_(3)only delivers hydrogen capacities of 0.24 wt.%and 5.94 wt.%under the same *** density functional theory(DFT)calculations further indicate that the existence of Fe@C catalyst can make the length of Al-H bond increase,which is more conducive to the release of *** results show that the synergistic effect of Fe and porous carbon in Fe@C nanorods can improve the hydrogen desorption kinetics ofα-AlH_(3),providing a good prospect for the application ofα-AlH_(3)in hydrogen storage fields.

The corrosion and passive behavior of HP-13Cr stainless steel(HP-13Cr SS)in formate annulus protection fluid was ***-13Cr SS exhibited good passive behavior in clean formate annulus protection fluid,which was attributed to a thinner and more dense passive film mainly composed of Cr_(2)O_(3).In the formation water solution,the passive film was composed of metastable Cr(OH)3,which was explained by the isoelectric point theory,resulting in the deterioration of the passive behavior of HP-13Cr *** the formation water penetrated the formate annulus protection fluid,a large number of loose FeCO_(3)particles formed in the corrosion scales,thus HP-13Cr SS suffered severe ***,avoiding formation water penetrating the formate annulus protection fluid is conducive to improving the service life of HP-13Cr SS oil tubes in extremely aggressive environment.

Elbow wear is a major threat to the multiphase pipeline transportation industry,which has a negative impact on the stable operation of the transportation *** order to find the wear reduction methods of elbows in the fluidization pipeline transportation system for 2000-meter-deep coal resources,the swirler was installed upstream of the elbows,and wear simulations and tests of three kinds of elbows were carried *** results showed that the maximum wear rate(MWR)of elbows increased and then decreased along the elbow *** to the different directions of gravity,the heavy wear position(HWP)of the horizontal-vertical(H-V)elbow was in front of the vertical-horizontal(V-H)*** the downstream portion of the horizontal-horizontal(H-H)elbow was still a horizontal pipe,the HWP of the H-H elbow almost covered the whole *** swirler placed upstream of the elbows could make the particles at the elbow move to the intrados of the elbows,resulting in less collision between the particles and the extrados of the elbows,thus reducing the wear of the *** wear reduction effects of swirlers on three different elbows were favorably connected with the guide vane angle(GVA)and negatively correlated with the guide vane length(GVL),decreased first and then increased as the guide vane height(GVH)increased,and were little affected by the guide vane number(GVN)and the guide vane thickness(GVT).The mathematical models between the MWR of the elbows and guide vane parameters were *** bench tests,the wear reduction effect of three kinds of elbows under the optimal guide vane parameters was 58.4%,76.9%,and 78.6%,*** errors between the bench test results and the simulation results were around 10%.

The evolution of faults within the same stress field is frequently influenced by numerous factors,involving the reactivation of pre-existing structures, stress transmission through ductile detachment layers, and the growth, interaction, as well as linkage of new fault segments. This study analyses a complex multi-phase oblique extension fault system in the Nanpu Sag(NPS) of the Bohai Bay Basin(BBB),China. High-resolution three-dimensional(3D) seismic data and analogue modelling indicate that the oblique extensional reactivation of pre-existing structures governs the sequential arrangement of fault segments in the caprock, and they dip synthetically to the reactivated fault at depth. During the NW-SE extension in the Eocene, the predominant movement of the pre-existing fault is strike-slip. Subsequently,during the N-S extension since the Oligocene, inclined at *** the pre-existing fault, forming splay fault segments and ultimately creating large en-echelon arcuate faults linked by relay ramps. Using fault throw-distance(T-D) and laser scanning, we reconstructed the fault evolution model of oblique extension reactivation in the presence of a ductile detachment basement. Our study illustrates that the arcuate faults can be categorized into linear master fault segments controlled by pre-existing structures, bending splay faults in the termination zone, and normal fault segments responding to the regional stress *** interaction between faults occurs among normal faults and strike-slip faults, and the kinematic unification of the two fault systems is accomplished in the intersection zone. As the faults continue to evolve, the new fault segments tend to relinquish the control of pre-existing structures and concentrate more on the development of planar and continuous major faults. The ductile detachment layer significantly contributes to the uniform distribution of strain, resulting in narrow shear zones and discontinuous normal faults in its absence.

Bioinspired directional structures for inhibiting wetting on super-melt-philic surfaces above 1200°C

Over the past two decades,superhydrophobic surfaces that are easily created have aroused considerable attention for their superior performances in various applications at room ***,there is a growing demand in special fields for the development of surfaces that can resist wetting by high-temperature molten droplets(>1200°C)using facile design and fabrication ***,bioinspired directional structures(BDSs)were prepared on Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2(YSZ)surfaces using femtosecond laser *** from the anisotropic energy barriers,the BDSs featured with no additional modifiers showed a remarkable increase from 9.2°to 60°in the contact angle of CaO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2(CMAS)melt and a 70.1%reduction in the spreading area of CMAS at 1250°C,compared with polished super-CMAS-melt-philic YSZ ***,the BDSs demonstrated exceptional wetting inhibition even at 1400°C,with an increase from 3.3°to 31.3°in contact angle and a 67.9%decrease in spreading *** work provides valuable insight and a facile preparation strategy for effectively inhibiting the wetting of molten droplets on super-melt-philic surfaces at extremely high temperatures.
