This study is to utilize the heat-absorbing and releasing capabilities of phase change materials(PCM)to regulate the surface temperature fluctuations of batteries during charging and discharging.The goal is to keep the battery within the optimal operating temperature range.The impact of PCM thickness and phase change temperature on battery temperature is investigated by encircling a cylindrical battery with a PCM ring.To improve the thermal conductivity of PCM,expanded graphite(EG) is added to make a composite phase change material(CPCM),and the effects of various EG mass ratios on battery surface temperature and CPCM utilization level are investigated.The findings indicate that increasing PCM thickness effectively extends temperature control time,but its impact is limited.The difference in phase change temperature of PCM controls the battery temperature in different temperature ranges.Lower phase change temperatures are unsuitable for controlling battery temperature in high temperature environments.The addition of EG enhances the thermal conductivity of PCM,leading to further control of battery temperature.The results show that the addition of 6%(mass ratio) EG to CPCM extends the effective temperature control time by 11 min and improves by 28% compared to a single PCM.The CPCM utilization is also more satisfactory and achieved a balance between heat storage and thermal conductivity in a battery thermal management system(BTMS) based on PCM.

The main objective of this paper is to consider model averaging methods for kriging models.This paper proposes a Mallows model averaging procedure for the orthogonal kriging model and demonstrate the asymptotic optimality of the model averaging estimators in terms of mean square error.Simulation studies are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed method and compare it with the competitors to demonstrate its superiority.The authors also analyse a real dataset for an illustration.

Inulin-type fructan CP-A,a predominant polysaccharide in Codonopsis pilosula,demonstrates regulatory effects on immune activity and anti-inflammation.The efficacy of CP-A in treating ulcerative colitis(UC)is,however,not well-established.This study employed an in vitro lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced colonic epithelial cell model(NCM460)and an in vivo dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis mouse model to explore CP-A’s protective effects against experimental colitis and its underlying mechanisms.We monitored the clinical symptoms in mice using various parameters:body weight,disease activity index(DAI),colon length,spleen weight,and histopathological scores.Additionally,molecular markers were assessed through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),immunofluorescence(IF),immunohistochemistry(IHC),and Western blotting assays.Results showed that CP-A significantly reduced reactive oxygen species(ROS),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),and interleukins(IL-6,IL-1β,IL-18)in LPS-induced cells while increasing IL-4 and IL-10 levels and enhancing the expression of Claudin-1,ZO-1,and occludin proteins in NCM460 cells.Correspondingly,in vivo findings revealed that CPA administration markedly improved DAI,reduced colon shortening,and decreased the production of myeloperoxidase(MPO),malondialdehyde(MDA),ROS,IL-1β,IL-18,and NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasome-associated genes/proteins in UC mice.CP-A treatment also elevated glutathione(GSH)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)levels,stimulated autophagy(LC3B,P62,Beclin-1,and ATG5),and reinforced Claudin-1 and ZO-1 expression,thereby aiding in intestinal epithelial barrier repair in colitis mice.Notably,the inhibition of autophagy via chloroquine(CQ)diminished CP-A’s protective impact against colitis in vivo.These findings elucidate that CP-A’s therapeutic effect on experimental colitis possibly involves mitigating intestinal inflammation through autophagymediated NLRP3 inflammasome inactivation.Consequently,inul

Background Culex pipiens pallens andCulex pipiens quinquefasciatus are the dominant species ofCulex mosquitoes in China and important disease vectors. Long-term use of insecticides can cause mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (vgsc) gene of mosquitoes, but little is known about the current status and evolutionary origins ofvgsc gene in different geographic populations. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the current status ofvgsc genes inCx. p. pallens andCx. p. quinquefasciatus in China and to investigate the evolutionary inheritance of neighboring downstream introns of thevgsc gene to determine the impact of insecticides on long-term evolution.Methods Sampling was conducted from July to September 2021 in representative habitats of 22 provincial-level administrative divisions in China. Genomic DNA was extracted from 1308 mosquitoes, the IIS6 fragment of thevgsc gene on the nerve cell membrane was amplified using polymerase chain reaction, and the sequence was used to evaluate allele frequency and knockdown resistance (kdr) frequency. MEGA 11 was used to construct neighborjoining (NJ) tree. PopART was used to build a TCS network.Results There were 6 alleles and 6 genotypes at the L1014 locus, which included the wild-type alleles TTA/L and CTA/L and the mutant alleles TTT/F, TTC/F, TCT/S and TCA/S. The geographic populations with akdr frequency less than 20.00% were mainly concentrated in the regions north of 38° N, and the geographic populations with akdr frequency greater than 80.00% were concentrated in the regions south of 30° N.kdr frequency increased with decreasing latitude. And within the same latitude, the frequency ofkdr in large cities is relatively high. Mutations were correlated with the number of introns. The mutant allele TCA/S has only one intron, the mutant allele TTT/F has three introns, and the wild-type allele TTA/L has 17 introns.Conclusions Cx. p. pallens andCx. p. quinquefasciatus have developed resistance to insecticides in most regions of China. Feature extraction of point clouds is a fundamental component of three-dimensional(3D) vision tasks. While existing feature extraction networks primarily focus on enhancing the geometric perception abilities of networks and overlook the crucial role played by coordinates. For instance, though two airplane wings share the same shape, it demands distinct feature representations due to their differing positions. In this paper, we introduce a novel module called position aware module(PAM) to leverage the coordinate features of points for positional encoding, and integrating this encoding into the feature extraction network to provide essential positional context. Furthermore, we embed PAM into the Point Net++ framework, and design a novel feature extraction network, named Point Net V3. To validate the effectiveness of Point Net V3, we conducted comprehensive experiments including classification, object tracking and object detection on point cloud. The results of remarkable improvement in three tasks demonstrate the exceptional performance achieved by Point Net V3 in point cloud processing.

Since 2015,stroke has become the leading cause of death and disability in China,posing a significant threat to the health of its citizens as a major chronic non-communicable disease.According to the China Stroke High-risk Population Screening and Intervention Program,an estimated 17.8 million[95%confidence interval(CI)17.6–18.0million]adults in China had experienced a stroke in 2020,with 3.4 million(95%CI 3.3–3.5 million)experiencing their first-ever stroke and another 2.3 million(95%CI 2.2–2.4 million)dying as a result.Additionally,approximately 12.5%(95%CI 12.4%–12.5%)of stroke survivors were left disabled,as defined by a modified Rankin Scale score greater than 1,equating to 2.2 million(95%CI 2.1–2.2 million)stroke-related disabilities in 2020.As the population ages and the prevalence of risk factors like diabetes,hypertension,and hyperlipidemia continues to rise and remains poorly controlled,the burden of stroke in China is also increasing.A large national epidemiological survey initiated by the China Hypertension League in 2017 showed that the prevalence of hypertension was 24.7%;the awareness,treatment,and control rates in hypertensive patients were:60.1%,42.5%,and 25.4%,respectively.A nationally representative sample of the Chinese mainland population showed that the weighted prevalence of total diabetes diagnosed by the American Diabetes Association criteria was 12.8%,suggesting there are 120 million adults with diabetes in China,and the awareness,treatment,and control rates in diabetic patients were:43.3%,49.0%,and 49.4%,respectively.The“Sixth National Health Service Statistical Survey Report in 2018”showed that the proportion of the obese population in China was 37.4%,an increase of 7.2 points from 2013.Data from 1599 hospitals in the Hospital Quality Monitoring System and Bigdata Observatory Platform for Stroke of China(BOSC)showed that a total of 3,418,432 stroke cases[mean age±standard error(SE)was(65.700±0.006)years,and 59.1%were male]were admitted during 2020.Of those,over 80.0%(81.9%)were ischemic

An accurate and novel small-signal equivalent circuit model for GaN high-electron-mobility transistors(HEMTs)is proposed,which considers a dual-field-plate(FP)made up of a gate-FP and a source-FP.The equivalent circuit of the overall model is composed of parasitic elements,intrinsic transistors,gate-FP,and source-FP networks.The equivalent circuit of the gate-FP is identical to that of the intrinsic transistor.In order to simplify the complexity of the model,a series combination of a resistor and a capacitor is employed to represent the source-FP.The analytical extraction procedure of the model parameters is presented based on the proposed equivalent circuit.The verification is carried out on a 4×250μm GaN HEMT device with a gate-FP and a source-FP in a 0.45μm technology.Compared with the classic model,the proposed novel small-signal model shows closer agreement with measured S-parameters in the range of 1.0 to 18.0 GHz.

RNA interference(RNAi)is a form of gene silencing triggered by double-stranded RNA(dsRNA)that operates in all eukaryotic cells.RNAi has been widely investigated in insects to determine the underlying molecular mechanism,to investigate its role in systemic antiviral defense,and to develop strategies for pest control.When insect cells are infected by viruses,viral dsRNA signatures trigger a local RNAi response to block viral replication and generate virus-derived DNA that confers systemic immunity.RNAi-based insect pest control involves the application of exogenous dsRNA targeting genes essential for insect development or survival,but the efficacy of this approach has limited potency in many pests through a combination of rapid dsRNA degradation,inefficient dsRNA uptake/processing,and ineffective RNAi machinery.This could be addressed by dsRNA screening and evaluation,focusing on dsRNA design and off-target management,as well as dsRNA production and delivery.This review summarizes recent progress to determine the role of RNAi in antiviral defense and as a pest control strategy in insects,addressing gaps between our fundamental understanding of the RNAi mechanism and the exploitation of RNAi-based pest control strategies.
