Clarification of the dispersion mechanism of three typical chemical dispersants in lithium-ion battery (LIB) slurry

This paper mainly clarified the dispersion mechanism of three typical chemical dispersants which are polyethylene glycol octylphenyl ether(Triton X-100,T-100),polyethylene pyrrolidone(PVP)and carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)within lithium-ion battery(LIB)***,the optimum amounts of T-100,PVP and CMC are selected from 0%,0.5%,1.5%and 2.5%by evaluating the impedance of LIB slurry in the case of adding each typical chemical dispersant with EIS ***,the impedance spectrum of three different slurry samples which are PVDF-NMP solution,LiCoO_(2) slurry and Carbon Black(CB)slurry with the optimum amount of each dispersant are also *** using SEM and C element distribution images of LIB slurry to verify the correctness of the dispersion mechanism of each dispersant,it is concluded that the dispersion CMC with its optimum amount 1.5%is the best one to promote the formation of conductive paths and CB-coated LiCoO_(2) network structure within LIB slurry,which has the considerably potential to improve the performance of LIB.

MIL-53(Fe)/polyaniline(PANI) composite was prepared by in situ depositing PANI on the surface of MIL-53(Fe) and their catalytic performances on the simultaneous removal of Rh B and Cr(Ⅵ) were investigated. The elimination efficiency of both RhB and Cr(Ⅵ) reached more than 98% under pH = 2 where hydrochloric acid and citric acid were used to adjust the pH. The results indicated that MIL-53(Fe)/PANI revealed an obvious pH response to the degradation of RhB, while citric acid promoted the Cr(Ⅵ)photoreduction. UV–Vis spectra, EIS, and photocurrent response experiments showed that MIL-53(Fe)/PANI had a better light response and carrier migration ability than MIL-53(Fe). The transient absorption spectra also exhibited that the lifetimes of photo-generated carriers were prolonged after the conductive polymer deposition on the MIL-53(Fe) surface. Scavenger experiments demonstrated that the main active species were·O;-and·OH. Combined with activity evaluation results, and the possible photocatalytic mechanism of MIL-53(Fe)/PANI on RhB oxidation and Cr(Ⅵ) reduction was proposed. The addition of conductive polymer can effectively improve the light response of the catalyst under acidic conditions, and meanwhile citric acid also provided a new mediation for the synergistic degradation of multiple pollutants. Good activity and stability of the catalysts made the scale-up purification of acid water feasible under UV–Vis light.

Efficient and selective extraction of sinomenine by deep eutectic solvents

Sinomenine is the main bio-active ingredient of Sinomenii Caulis and usually produced by solventextraction techniques. However, the extraction of sinomenine suffers from the lack of highly efficient and environmentally-benign solvents. In this work, deep eutectic solvents(DESs) based on fragrances were synthesized, hydrogen-bond donors(HBDs) and hydrogen-bond acceptors(HBAs) components of DESs were identified and their extraction ability for sinomenine was evaluated and the extraction conditions were optimized by single-factor and orthogonal design experiments. It was found that the hydrogen-bonding interaction between sinomenine and DESs was the main extraction driving force and there was no explicit relationship between the extraction ability and the hydrophobicity of the DESs. The DESs could be recycled and sinomenine could be recovered quantitatively via backextraction. High-purity sinomenine((95.0 ± 2.3)%) could be produced. These findings suggest that DESs are highly-effective solvents for the isolation of sinomenine and exhibit great potential for the extraction of other bio-active compounds.

To investigate the thermal response and initiation behavior of ternary fluoropolymer-matrix PTFE/Al/W reactive materials,a research combining shock loading tests and trans-scale modelling is *** the basis of a good agreement of the numerically simulated and tested shock wave propagation,the significant impact of component ratios and particle sizes on the evolution of mesoscopic temperature,hot-spots and initiation is well characterized and *** demonstrate that as the content of W increases,the range of mesoscopic high-temperature area increases and tends to distribute more uniform,while material with smaller W particles causes more intense particle deformation and larger temperature *** time to reach the critical temperature shows positive correlation to the content of W,while the critical temperature of hot-spots shows negative correlation to the particle size of *** PTFE/Al/W of high density,with the increase of W particle size,the reaction rate decrease,however the time to reach the peak reaction rate shortens.

This research investigates retrofitting strategies for multifunctional spaces within educational buildings,employing agent-based and performance-based modeling to support *** experimental matrix was developed,reflecting three usage scenarios(reading,exhibition,lecture)across four retrofitting *** agent-based model was developed to delineate intricate human behaviors in space and examined the self-organizing behaviors of 30 agents for each scheme in every scenario,evaluating six metrics on spatial efficiency and visual *** models,derived from real data and processed through DesignBuilder software,evaluated three metrics:energy use,thermal comfort,and visual *** research then incorporated metrics from the agent-based model and performance simulation to develop a method for discussing the decision-making process in retrofit *** findings indicate that the optimal retrofitting solution for multifunctional spaces is heavily influenced by the distribution of usage *** the substantial influence of space metrics on selecting the optimal retrofit scheme,the proposed framework effectively facilitates decision-making for building retrofits by providing a holistic evaluation of both spatial and energy criteria.

Iron oxychloride(FeOCl)is a unique layered material with tunable electronic *** conventional synthetic route of chemical vapor transition involves a thermodynamics-driven gas-solid interfacial reaction which often generates macroscopic crystals with stable *** this study,through analyzing the effects of the synthetic parameters on the FeOCl synthesis,we discovered the dominant contribution of theα-Fe_(2)O_(3)precursors on the chemical property of the FeOCl product,and subsequently developed a highly-controllable synthetic route of tailoring the FeOCl structures into small sizes and exposed high-energy facets via a facile and scalable mechanical-chemical *** synthesized products could be systematically tuned by the ball-milling conditions of theα-Fe_(2)O_(3)*** increased milling time,the FeOCl crystallites demonstrated reduced sizes and more exposed(110)***,these smallsized FeOCl catalysts exhibited much faster Fenton-like kinetics than the pristine macroscopic FeOCl ***,FeOCl catalysts with a 12-hour milling time showed nearly 39 times higher efficiency toward phenol degradation than the pristine *** structure-reactivity relationship was further elucidated using the combinatory analysis via density functional theory calculation,electron paramagnetic resonance and radical quenching probe *** work provides a rationale for tailoring the surface structures of FeOCl crystallites for potential applications in environmental catalysis.
