The 40Ar-39Ar age method is employed in this work to analyze the auriferous altered rocks from the middle-deep section of the Q875 gold-quartz vein in the Xiao-qinling area, and the results show that the main gold deposition of the Q875 occurred in ca. 128-126 Ma. As a typical gold-bearing quartz vein in this gold-rich area, the age data obtained from the Q875 also constrain on the metallogenic time of the lode gold deposits developed in the same geological settings. This geochronological study supplies new evidence for further understanding the timing of gold mineralization, the genesis of gold deposits and the geodynamic settings in Xiaoqinling area.

The Haoyaoerhudong gold deposit,located in the northwestern part of the North china craton(NCC),has produced over 120 metric tonnes(t)of gold since *** has a total reserve of>240 t at average gold grade of 0.62 g/t,making it one of the largest open pit gold mines in *** steeply dipping,large-tonnage,low-grade,vein-or veinlet-type gold orebodies are hosted in strongly-deformed Mesoproterozoic carbonaceous schist of the Bayan Obo *** laminated/boudinaged veins/veinlets in the sinistral ductile-brittle shear zones are dominated by quartz,biotite,gold-bearing löllingite,pyr-rhotite,(arseno)pyrite,with minor native gold,titanite and *** this paper,we present new in situ U-Pb geochronological data on magmatic zircon from the preore dikes,on metamorphic and hydrothermal xenotime,and on hydrothermal titanite from the hydrothermally altered carbonaceous schist and auriferous quartzsulfides veins/veinlets,as well as He-Ar isotopic analysis on gold-bearing(arseno)pyrite in the syn-ore *** metamorphic xenotime U-Pb age of 426±6.0 Ma(2σ)records a regional metamorphic event,possibly related to the accretion of the Bainaimiao arc onto the *** pre-ore andesitic dikes yielded similar emplacement ages at~278 Ma constrained by laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS)U-Pb zircon *** xenotime grains from the altered carbonaceous schist and auriferous quartz-sulfides veins yielded U-Pb ages of 256.0±4.1 Ma(2σ)and 254.4±2.1 Ma(2σ),respectively,overlapping with that of the hydrothermal titanite at 255.4±0.8 Ma(2σ)from the laminated quartz-sulfides *** indicates that the gold mineralization occurred at ca.255 ***~255 Ma gold mineralization age is much younger than the previously reported Early-Middle Permian regional magmatic activity(ca.291 Ma to 268 Ma),and may be associated with the regional sinistral strike-slip event in the late orogenic cycle related to the collision between the Siberian craton

Genesis of the Changba–Lijiagou Giant Pb-Zn Deposit, West Qinling, Central china: Constraints from S-Pb-C-O isotopes

The extensive Changba-Lijiagou Pb-Zn deposit is located in the north of the Xihe–Chengxian ore cluster in West Qinling. The ore bodies are mainly hosted in the marble, dolomitic marble and biotite-calcite-quartz schist of the Middle Devonian Anjiacha Formation, and are structurally controlled by the fault and anticline. The ore-forming process can be divided into three main stages, based on field geological features and mineral assemblages. The mineral assemblages of hydrothermal stage I are pale-yellow coarse grain, low Fe sphalerite, pyrite with pits, barite and biotite. The mineral assemblages of hydrothermal stage II are black-brown cryptocrystalline, high Fe shalerite, pyrite without pits, marcasite or arsenopyrite replace the pyrite with pits, K-feldspar. The features of hydrothermal stage III are calcite-quartz-sulfide vein cutting the laminated, banded ore body. Forty-two sulfur isotope analyses, twenty-five lead isotope analyses and nineteen carbon and oxygen isotope analyses were determined on sphalerite, pyrite, galena and calcite. The δ34 S values of stage I(20.3 to 29.0‰) are consistent with the δ34 S of sulfate(barite) in the stratum. Combined with geological feature, inclusion characteristics and EPMA data, we propose that TSR has played a key role in the formation of the sulfides in stage I. The δ34 S values of stage II sphalerite and pyrite(15.1 to 23.0‰) are between sulfides in the host rock, magmatic sulfur and the sulfate(barite) in the stratum. This result suggests that multiple S reservoirs were the sources for S2-in stage II. The δ34 S values of stage III(13.1 to 22‰) combined with the structure of the geological and mineral features suggest a magmatic hydrothermal origin of the mineralization. The lead isotope compositions of the sulfides have 206 Pb/204 Pb ranging from 17.9480 to 17.9782, 207 Pb/204 Pb ranging from 15.611 to 15.622, and 208 Pb/204 Pb ranging from 38.1368 to 38.1691 in the three ore-forming stages.
