In this study,non-thermal plasma(NTP)was employed to modify the Cu/TiO_(2)adsorbent to efficiently purify H_(2)S in low-temperature and micro-oxygen *** effects of Cu loading amounts and atmospheres of NTP treatment on the adsorption-oxidation performance of the adsorbents were *** NTP modification successfully boosted the H_(2)S removal capacity to varying degrees,and the optimized adsorbent treated by air plasma(Cu/TiO_(2)-Air)attained the best H_(2)S breakthrough capacity of 113.29 mg H_(2)S/gadsorbent,which was almost 5 times higher than that of the adsorbent without NTP *** studies demonstrated that the superior performance of Cu/TiO_(2)-Air was attributed to increased mesoporous volume,more exposure of active sites(CuO)and functional groups(amino groups and hydroxyl groups),enhanced Ti-O-Cu interaction,and the favorable ratio of active oxygen ***,the X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results indicated the main reason for the deactivationwas the consumption of the active components(CuO)and the agglomeration of reaction products(CuS and SO_(4)^(2−))occupying the active sites on the surface and the inner pores of the adsorbents.

This study employed a wet impregnation method to synthesize five types of Cu/HZSM-5 adsorbents with Si/Al ratios of 25,50,85,200,and 300,used for the removal of H_(2)S in lowtemperature,low-oxygen *** impact of different Si/Al ratios on the adsorption oxidative performance of Cu_(30)/HZSM-5–85 adsorbents was *** to the performance test results,Cu_(30)/HZSM-5–85 exhibited the highest breakthrough capacity,reaching 231.75 mg H_(2)S/g_(sorbent).Cu/HZSM-5 sorbent maintains a strong ability to remove H_(2)S even under humid conditions and shows excellent water ***,BET,and XPS results revealed that CuO is the primary active species,with Cu_(30)/HZSM-5–85 having the largest surface area and highest CuO content,providing more active sites for H_(2)S adsorption.H_(2)-TPR and O_(2)-TPD results confirmed that Cu_(30)/HZSM-5–85 sorbent exhibits outstanding redox properties and oxygen storage capacity,contributing to excellent oxygen transferability in the molecular sieve adsorption-oxidation *** notable characteristics such as a large surface area,high desulfurization efficiency,and water resistance,Cu_(30)/HZSM-5–85 sorbents hold significant importance for industrial applications.

Background Connective tissue growth factor （CTGF） is a secreted protein containing several domains that mediate interactions with growth factors, integrins and extracellular matrix components. CTGF plays an important role in extracellular matrix production by its ability to mediate collagen deposition during wound healing. CTGF also induces neovascularization in vitro, suggesting a role in angiogenesis in vivo. We herein evaluated whether CTGF was required for extracellular matrix synthesis of meniscal fibrochondrocytes and/or angiogenesis during the repair of meniscal tears. Methods Meniscal fibrochondrocytes were isolated from the inner-I/2 of rabbit meniscus by trypsin collagenase treatment and further treated with 100 ng/ml CTGF in vitro. Characterization of fibrochondrocytes was identified by flow cytometry analyzing CD31, CD44, CD45 and CD105, and was further tested by type II collagen immunocytochemistry. Changes in gene expression of meniscal fibrochondrocytes were monitored by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Histological sections prepared from a 3-mm portion of a longitudinal tearing defect in the middle of the rabbit meniscus were subjected to fluorescence-immunohistochemistry analysis at 1, 4 and 10 weeks following surgical treatment with 1.5 IJg of CTGF/fibrin-glue composites. Results Quantitative RT-PCR assay showed that types I and II collagen and vascular endothelial growth factor mRNA expression in the 100 ng/ml CTGF group were remarkably enhanced as compared to levels in the no-dose group at 14 days （（2.38±0.63） fold, （2.96±0.87） fold, （2.14±0.56） fold, respectively）. Likewise, fluorescence-immunohistochemical analysis revealed that in the group implanted with CTGF-fibrin glue, types Ⅰand Ⅱcollagen, as well as the capillaries, completely filled the defect by 10 weeks, postoperatively. Harnessing bacteria for superoxide production in bioremediation holds immense promise,yet its practical application is hindered by slow production rates and the relatively weak redox potential of *** study delves into a cost-effective approach to amplify superoxide production using an Arthrobacter strain,a prevalent soil bacterial *** research reveals that introducing a carbon source along with specific iron-binding ligands,including deferoxamine(DFO),diethylenetriamine pentaacetate(DTPA),citrate,and oxalate,robustly augments microbial superoxide ***,our findings suggest that these iron-binding ligands play a pivotal role in converting superoxide into hydroxyl radicals by modulating the electron transfer rate between Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)and ***,among the tested ligands,only DTPA emerges as a potent promoter of this conversion process when complexed with Fe(Ⅲ).We identify an optimal Fe(Ⅲ)to DTPA ratio of approximately 1:1 for enhancing hydroxyl radical production within the Arthrobacter *** research underscores the efficacy of simultaneously introducing carbon sources and DTPA in facilitating superoxide production and its subsequent conversion to hydroxyl radicals,significantly elevating bioremediation ***,our study reveals that DTPA augments superoxide production in cultures of diverse soils,with various soil microorganisms beyond Arthrobacter identified as contributors to superoxide *** emphasizes the universal applicability of DTPA across multiple bacterial *** conclusion,our study introduces a promising methodology for enhancing microbial superoxide production and its conversion into hydroxyl *** findings hold substantial implications for the deployment of microbial reactive oxygen species in bioremediation,offering innovative solutions for addressing environmental contamination challenges.

This study investigated environmental distribution and human exposure of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and their derivatives in one Chinese petroleum refinery *** was found that,following with high concentrations of 16 EPA PAHs(∑Parent-PAHs)in smelting subarea of studied petroleum refinery facility,total derivatives of PAHs[named as XPAHs,including nitro PAHs(NPAHs),chlorinated PAHs(Cl-PAHs),and brominated PAHs(Br-PAHs)]in gas(mean=1.57×10^(4)ng/m^(3)),total suspended particulate(TSP)(mean=4.33×10^(3) ng/m^(3))and soil(mean=4.37×10^(3) ng/g)in this subarea had 1.76-6.19 times higher levels than those from other subareas of this facility,surrounding residential areas and reference areas,indicating that petroleum refining processes would lead apparent derivation of ***,compared with those in residential and reference areas,gas samples in the petrochemical areas had higher∑NPAH/∑PAHs(mean=2.18),but lower∑Cl-PAH/∑PAHs(mean=1.43×10^(-1))and∑Br-PAH/∑PAHs ratios(mean=7.49×10^(-2)),indicating the richer nitrification of PAHs than chlorination during petrochemical *** occupational exposure to PAHs and XPAHs in this petroleum refinery facility were 24-343 times higher than non-occupational exposure,and the ILCR(1.04×10^(-4))for petrochemical workers was considered to be potential high ***,one expanded high-resolution screening through GC Orbitrap/MS was performed for soils from petrochemical area,and another 35 PAHs were found,including alkyl-PAHs,phenyl-PAHs and other species,indicat-ing that profiles and risks of PAHs analogs in petrochemical areas deserve further expanded investigation.

Clinical characteristics of 4355 patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury

Background Clinical features of anterior cruciate ligament （ACL） injury are important for its prevention,diagnosis and ***,few studies have reported such data,especially in *** purpose of this study was to describe the clinical characteristics of ACL injury on a large *** Between 1993 and 2007,a total of 4355 ACL deficient inpatients （612 athletes and 3743 non-athletes） were *** were collected using a special database *** the distributions of characteristics in different groups were compared and analyzed *** All subjects were confirmed with ACL tear during *** analysis revealed that the percentage of females in Athlete Group was significantly higher than that in Non-athlete Group （56.05％ vs.24.95％,P＜0.001）.This study also found that sports trauma was the main cause of ACL ***,basketball,judo,wrestling and track and field were the five most responsible activities for *** average injury time for athletes was significantly shorter than that for non-athletes （413.3 days vs.717.5 days,P＜0.001）.Three thousand nine hundred and eight cases were ordered ACL reconstruction （76.04％ single-bundle,18.30％ double-bundle）.Three hundred and forty-five patients （7.92％）were combined with other ligaments injuries,2667 （61.24％） were found with various grades of cartilage lesions,and 3377 （77.54％） were found with meniscal *** Sports trauma was the main cause of ACL tears in China,and reconstruction had become the principal surgical *** order to restore knee joint stability and reduce the incidence of cartilage and meniscal injury,patienttailored ACL reconstruction should be suggested at the right moment.

Shielding materials are critical for downhole pulsed neutron tool design because they directly influence the accuracy of formation measurements.A well-designed shield configuration ensures that the response of the tool is maximally representative of the formation without being affected by the tool and borehole *** study investigated the effects of boron-containing materials on neutron and gamma detectors based on a newly designed logging-while-drilling tool that is currently undergoing *** the boron content increased,the ability to absorb thermal neutrons increased *** simulation,it was proven that boron carbide(B_(4)C)can be used as an effective boron shielding material for thermal neutrons,and is therefore employed in this *** shield against thermal neutrons migrating from the mud pipes,the optimal shielding thicknesses for the near-and far-neutron detectors were determined to be 5 and 4 *** a porosity of 25 p.u.,near-neutron sensitivity exhibited a 5.6%***,to shield the capture gamma generated by thermal neutrons once they enter the tool from the mud pipe and formation,internal and external shields for the gamma detector were *** results show that the internal shield requires a boron content of 75%,whereas the external shield has a thickness of 14.2 mm thickness and a boron content of 25%to minimize the tool effect.
